Oh my goodness Monday is my appointment and this morning when I opened my eyes it really started to hit me.
I'm gonna be a mom.
I'm somebody's mother.
And Monday I'm going to find out if I'm having a son or a daughter.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
There's so much to do. And I don't have enough time to do it all. AHH O:
Mee tooo!!! This weekend needs to FLY BY!!!
February Siggy Challenge- Post pregnancy indulgences
My mom is visiting this weekend!!!!! Yayyyyyyyyyy! I haven't seen her in months and not since before we told her we were expecting so I am just a tad excited. She is my bestie. Today's workday just needs to hurry on up! Not to mention my Cardinals play tonight, too!! It's going to be a FAB weekend!
@flowerpower5838 I am going to a craft fair at an orchard. It is going to be awesome. Apple everything everywhere and fresh fritters. I am also meeting up with my friend who is pregnant and 6wks ahead of me, kind of dreading it a little, she just is so pregnancy is magical and shitting rainbows at this point and I'm a Debbie downer. :-\

@bntfroggie Fall is seriously the best. I am now going to have an uncontrollable craving for apple fritters that I know will not be satisfied any time soon. Also I have only told a handful of friends and family about my pregnancy specifically because A.) we haven't put it on social media. Yet. and B.) I have a certain friend that is pregnant and just knows.it.all. She is a FTM as well and I am dreading all of the advice she will surely dole out as soon as I tell her.
I GET TO SEE MY FAMILY! 'Nuff said. Actually (and maybe this is flame worthy since I haven't seen my boys at all this week) my boys are staying at my parents' house Saturday night and I'm going on a date with my husband at my favorite italian restaurant.

Hey ladies, good luck at your appointments next week, @charley15, @2goofykids, and @skruhmin! I don't go back until 10/28 for my anatomy scan (which seems early because I'll only be 18 weeks, but since the genetics lab is going it, my OB said I'll be OK...apparently they are REALLY good with the ultrasounds down there).
We don't have a ton of plans but I'll be doing an inventory of my pantry and freezer and some meal planning this Saturday...exciting stuff, huh? Funny thing is, I am excited. I think nesting may be kicking in big time.
Slow it down ladies, I savor my weekends. I have my appointment on Monday, but it is just listening to the little heartbeat with no U/S, my anatomy scan isn't until November 11th, ugh so far away. Fingers crossed for everyone on their appointments yay.

Yay for all of the fun stuff going on! My 2 sisters and a couple of my brothers are visiting this weekend too! I'm one of 9 kids, and about 8 out of 9 of us will be together, yay!!!! Good luck on the big appointments next week! I just have a regular checkup on the 15, then AS will be on the 23, so that week will need to fly by!
Ugh... I work 12hr night shifts all weekend, this weekend can speed right by and it wouldn't bother me a bit! Not to mention it's the local college's homecoming so the ER is likely to be filled with little drunk a**holes. Sending everyone will wishes for all the early appointments next week!

So I spent 2 hours trying to get dh up. It is his day off so I let him sleep in to begin with, but he promised to take ds out today so I can sleep and relax and do homework in peace. Then yesterday he says he wants to spend the evening working on his car again. So of course I woke him up, that way he could still go out with ds. It is noon here and he just got up, and when I told him I was going to paint his nails if he didn't get up (I laughed when I said it) he got mad and threatened to toss all my nail polish out. I told him that he would not like the outcome of that. Then he tells me that I have a bad attitude and need to check it. Sorry that he got mad over a joke and took it too far, but jeez, a woman is allowed to value her beauty products. At least I didn't snap at him and just rolled my eyes as I continued cleaning.
@bntfroggie - I'm so glad I'm not the only whose anatomical u/s is so far away. Mine's most likely not until the first week in Nov. My Dr. won't even schedule it until my 18 week appt (in 2 weeks). My mother said she's going to need an advent calendar to countdown to the u/s. My SIL found out she's having a boy early because she needed to have genetic testing done (she's due less than two weeks before me), so I think my mom is finding this a much longer wait.
can someone clarify something for me to make sure i am not just missing it? there is no way when using the search function to just filter the results by *this* BMB, correct? i mean, i use the search function, but i have to be honest i usually only get a few pages in before i'm like OK i didn't see it, so .. (which kind of makes me feel like my husband looking for the mayo in the fridge and he "can't find it" - like move shit around in there dude!)

So happy - just got back from our anatomy scan and everything looks great! I'm 19w1d and had been nervous b/c I hadn't felt any movement yet, but there she was jumping around in there, and it turns out I just have an anterior placenta so I'll be waiting to feel movement for probably a couple more weeks.
Also - quick PSA: DH and I bought an Ergo 360 on Amazon today for $110 (usually $160). They are on sale for $135 and then you enter code ERGOSAVE25 at checkout. I think it only works for the basic black or grey ones though. Here's the link to the deal:
DH picked me up for lunch today (which has never happened ever) and we went to Carrabas. SO GOOD! Fresh bread and oil, calamari, and a grilled chicken ceaser salad. I'm still full!
2 and a half hours left of work, guys. Then going out tonight since DH really needs some new tennis shoes! Sleeping tomorrow since its college football day, and back to work on Sunday for 9 long hours... Yay for baby money!
Gahhhhhhhhh I was cleaning up my desk and came across my benefits information. For me to add a child onto my policy, it is almost an additional FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS more a month! This is my first dose of sticker shock as it pertains to things I will have to "buy" for baby. Yikes.
@flowerpower5838 what state do you live in? I know in multiple states, there are Medicaid programs for kids 0-18 regardless of income. Maybe look into that, it would save a whole lot!
@flowerpower5838 I'm sorry that just sucks! Do you work for a small company? It might be cheaper to pay for private insurance for the baby unless yours in really good. I pay about 240.00 more a month (than just covering myself for 92.00 a month) but that's for the whole family. I am lucky it won't cost me anything additional for this kid since I already pay the family plan for the three of us. My insurance doubled during open enrollment last year after all the new Obama car stuff took effect so I def understand the frustration, but hey I get free BC now (instead of paying a 10.00 copay) and a free breast pump so that's worth the extra money every month right?
@Parker16772 I will definitely be looking into private insurance. Mine isn't great anyway, so I am certainly not interested in paying $600+ a month for me and one child. Thank you.
@flowerpower5838 is your insurance switching you from single to a family plan? Me and dh are on the single coverage but will be switching to family plan. It will be about $300 more but that's adding me and the new baby to dh's family plan. Our insurance bcbs il only does single or family plan.
@soxfan9968 I have BCBS il as well, but it's an HMO. Employee contribution is 144/month for just employee (me), 612/month for employee + child or 1121/month for Family (employee, spouse, children).
I haven't talked with HR or anything yet, but I have the benefits sheet right in front of me and I had a minor panic attack reading about the plans. PPO is EVEN more! I plan to talk to HR and let them know I am pregnant within the next two weeks or so.
Let me preface this by saying I love my children but I'm about to choke my five year old. We were driving on the highway and he decided to undo his seatbelt while we are going 65 miles per hour. Then when I finally get to a safe place to pull over and yell at him for doing it again this is the 3rd time mind you he's only done it on the way home from school where we can't go faster than 15 mph. I think we're in the clear but he decided he doesn't like that I yelled at him so he grabs the tissue box and proceeds to throw tissues on the floor and step on them with his shoes. I turn the car around and go home. He is grounded and in his room right now because I can't deal with him right now. I literally felt my blood pressure rise when I yelled at him to put back on his seat belt. My poor baby must have felt the adrenaline because I felt her kick so much harder than I have before. I'm laying in the couch drinking water waiting for my husband to come home. He will take my 5 year old to clean a the tissues in the car and switch out his booster seat back to the 5 point harness seat. I decided he's not mature enough to be in a booster and now he will feel like a baby back in a five point harness and if his kindergarten friends see him in it I'm in sure he'll be embarrassed but I don't care he could have gotten hurt undoing his seatbelt like that on a highway. Plus I warned him that 3 strikes he'd be back in the five point harness and so I'm sure he'll cry the next time he gets in the car. He's a big five year old he's 60 lbs and over 4 ft tall but the seat I have goes up to 85 lbs as a 5 point harness and he will have to deal with it.
@flowerpower5838 ouch!! We have a ppo but I guess this one of the few benefits of teaching. Great insurance. I think it's time for you to push DH to find a new job with a good insurance plan! Lol! But in all honesty it's definitely time to look at private insurance. Sorry
@lightrox aw it sounds like you handled it well. The five point harness sounds like a good idea until he stops unbuckling.
@flowerpower5838 that was the problem with my old health insurance. My employer contributed 340 a month but anything after that I was on my own. To add dh and dd would've cost me $900 a month out of pocket, for a $10,000 deductible! When you only make $1800 a month, it's impossible.
eta: now im on the county educators self insurers program. It costs me maybe 2/3 as much as I used to pay for myself, to cover all 3 of us now, and only $100 deductible per person!
