Randoms!

Re: Randoms!

  • It's too hot to sleep but I'm tired and I don't wanna get up and go all the way downstairs to the thermostat and I have to leave for preschool pickup in 15 minutes. I need someone to come to my house and turn down the air conditioning. If you do you can go ahead and grab one of my secret cookies as a thank you.

  • I tried to make a connection with my neighbor who has a 3 month old. She was sitting outside with her husband (maybe boyfriend) watching their other kids ride bikes. I was walking to get the mail. I asked her about her baby and how it was going back to work etc etc. Her baby daddy was smoking a cigarette and yelling at all the kids. She didn't seem interested in taking to me and he was giving me a really dirty look. First mom friend attempt was a really uncomfortable fail.

Sounds like a success - your need for a mom friend still exists and you don't have to settle for a woman attached to a yucky man like that!
  • So... DH has a cold. Now I'm trying to keep LO and myself from catching it. He acts like it isn't a big deal, but I really don't want my 3 month old getting sick! Ugh.

I must say... I'm very OCD when it comes to being clean. Then I find out someone is concerned with how many times you clean a 2.5x1.5 plastic container that only comes in contact with soap and water... And then rinsed well... Hmmm=mind blown

I guess I'm glad this is the consensus...I haven't cleaned it beyond the rinsing it out either but then he pees in there I think I should maybe actually clean it next time (though it hasn't happened yet:))
Pee.. Nah.. Easily rinsed and sterile. But as @hoodoll82 said, when and if he poops it will get more than a rinse ...

Yea ... They sound like real winners.. Sorry :(
  • @mellymar Don't apologize. My issues are not your problem. Lol
  • @virginiaunicorn11 I guess I should look at it that way!! I just thought it would be so nice to have a mom friend who was also my neighbor. I've been wanting to make her my friend for months! Total disappointment.

  • a little less than an hour ago i got the strangest feeling, i had this unquenchable thirst, i drank half a regular sized bottle of sprite, chugged some chocolate milk and downed a whole bottle of water. not sure if i feel better now though.
  • I am thinking all these ladies won't find the shout outs in our randoms thread that's over 1k posts long! This warrants a new thread??

  • I need some of you nurses to weigh in? Is my fracture at risk of not healing or healing slower because I'm EBF. My doctor mentioned a nonunion and possibly surgery, but said it was highly unlikely and he felt it would heal just fine in the boot. Someone mentioned my bones might be weaker right now because I'm breastfeeding and of course I'm freaking out.

@klkonwi and @HayesRN13 and anyone else you can talk me off the wheel of worry I'm on....

Gurrrllll... Think about what we would have said when we were all pregnant. Your doctor said it was highly unlikely it wouldn't heal! And some random got you thinking otherwise. And now you're asking Internet "strangers" their opinion.

(I would also totally do all of this, btw! But you asked someone to talk you down. So I'm channeling my angry pregnant self and telling you to believe your doc who says you're gonna heal.)

I'm so sorry you're in this spot. Hope your aunt's visit will be the consolation it seemed at first.
  • @virginiaunicorn11 your so right! Thank you. I need some of that snark right now!

Well I have another so sweet you will cry share. I don't know where I first saw this video, maybe even on tb, but I think about it often.

Aww @mellymar that was an awesome video... Tears are falling for sure. I can picture LO growing up and us having that same connection. The bond we are developing is already so special.

It is so crazy to realize a new June(16)board has started, the whole journey has been wonderful, challenging, but wonderful. It is so cool to think about where we were at this time last year and where we are now!

I have only posted one other time( in the DH rants/raves, go figure it was rant), but I think of you all as my friends and it's so cool/uplifting/reassuring to see how much we've grown from the snarkiness(which is very appreciated) to these softy moms. And now a whole new crew is starting. Sorry for the long comment, I am just amazed at where we all were and what we have been through and then where we are now!

If only those who left die to the snark could see us now lol.

Get off ledge girl ;) trust your docs and don't listen to negative others what ifs .. Wishing you a fast recovery!
  • @amccoy129 as long as you take your prenatals and don't listen to your friends you will be golden :) lol.....
I hope your fracture heals quickly!!! I cannot imagine having a baby and being in a boot!
  • @hudson202 We do the same thing! I like to do a thank you card with a $5 gift card for coffee. And of course, holiday related treats.
  • @virginiaunicorn11 your so right! Thank you. I need some of that snark!

@klkonwi thank you! It's not fun, but I'm just thankful I'm not on crutches!

My biggest problem is going to be staying in the boot for the length of time I'm supposed to. I'm one of THOSE. When the foot feels better it's going to be a struggle to leave the boot on. Luckily my DH is a rule follower, so as long as he's home that boot will be on.
