    Question:

We are going to a black tie wedding in two weeks. Can I wear my lace little black dress that is knee length and lets me easily BF? I am a little worried it is not formal enough. Maybe I could dress it up with accessories.
Second option, which I like in theory, is to use something like renttherunway.com. My concern is I'm not finding something that seems like it would let me easily BF.

    Tips, thoughts, help?
  • @virginiaunicorn11 my sister has used a service where she rents designer dresses (I assume that's what rent the runway is) and she LOVED it. I don't know about bfing, but she does the rent the dress thing once a year and always looks smashing. Re your own LBD, you could maybe add a shawl to dress it up some? I always think a shawl can really class up even a fairly casual dress, if you can find the right shawl. Also a nice up-do with your hair adds to the picture

@virginiaunicorn11 I say wear your little black dress. Accessories will make a big difference. Plus, you know it'll be easier to breastfeed in.
  • @upandbelow thinking of you!

@virginiaunicorn11 if you know your LBD works with breastfeeding, definitely go with that. You get a new mom pass. I wore a dress to a shower that was not bfing compatible and it was miserable to have to basically undress in a separate room every time she needed to eat.
  • unanimous vote. Thanks, ladies!
  • Question...how and how often do you ladies clean the baby's bathtub?

I have rented from rent the runway and it was awesome. Highly recommend!

Ummm... I had assumed putting some soap in the water and dumping it out (aka, giving him a bath) counted as cleaning it... Oops?
It has never occurred to me to clean it. I try to rinse it out every few baths....
  • My random: it still shocks me how isolating having a baby is. I had no idea. You would think that starting a family would be the opposite but no. It is so hard to venture out with him that I've literally only done it once by myself.
  • Thanks @virginiaunicorn11! I appreciate you saying that.

Oh, that's funny! It never occurred to me to wash the tub and I just thought it was one of DH's weird quirks that he rinses it out in the shower... i'm not quite sure what I thought he was doing. Obviously didn't think about it very much!
  • My hubby is leaving for two nights for work.. And I'm freaking out..why? I have no idea. Baby sleeps through the night, I have no reason to be such a spaz.. But I feel like it's the end of the world that he won't be here. :( Then I think of how many single mamas there are out there and feel like a piece a crap that I'm throwing a fit over this #-o

Every time I bathe Lo it gets clean while he's in it, and then I dump out the water

  • I rinse out the tub with hot water after I dump the soapy water. ..I consider this clean :-?

If you are not used to it, having hubby go away seems scary, but you totally got it and you don't have to share cuddles. My husband left for 2 weeks at the end of august for army national guard drill, I was really nervous at first but we found our groove and I cherished the alone time

So the reason mine has to leave is because he is a Master Sergeant in the National Guard and has to train some Joes.. It was suppose to be for a week but since he's the boss so to speak he got it down to two days.. Where are you from and where does your DH serve?
  • @HayesRN13 I would totally have a hard time alone for the night with baby. DH gets home tonight at 11:30 and I am totally worried so I understand how you feel.

I must say... I'm very OCD when it comes to being clean. Then I find out someone is concerned with how many times you clean a 2.5x1.5 plastic container that only comes in contact with soap and water... And then rinsed well... Hmmm=mind blown

I guess I'm glad this is the consensus...I haven't cleaned it beyond the rinsing it out either but then he pees in there I think I should maybe actually clean it next time (though it hasn't happened yet:))
  • Found this in my fb feed today. Much better than some other crap I've found in there recently

Lol. I didn't click to enlarge because it appeared like a tearjerker and i'm too tired (and emotional as always) for that right now.
  • It's too hot to sleep but I'm tired and I don't wanna get up and go all the way downstairs to the thermostat and I have to leave for preschool pickup in 15 minutes. I need someone to come to my house and turn down the air conditioning. If you do you can go ahead and grab one of my secret cookies as a thank you.
