Anyone into that HUGE looking Events leap (Wonder Week) yet? Is it bad? It looks awfully long. And I already feel like LO is having quite a fuss going - 3 month growth spurt perhaps. She'll be 3 months on Tues.
The 3 month growth spurt is taking me down! I feel like my baby is super moody.
@mellymar thank you for the tip about putting a hand on LO's chest when fastening her into the car seat! We've been doing it the past few days and have had no tears since!

I think we may have hit it. LO had been amazing for like a month, and has been sleeping through the night for the past week. Today has been brutal though. Hoping it isn't like this for the next 30something days like the app says.
Okay, I'm about to throw our bath tub out the window. It's the big blue babies r us tub and it sucks. LO slips all over the place while trying to play and splash. She just slides right down into the water. I'm sick of yanking her back up.
What tub are you using, if any, and do you like it?
So DH got an amazing job opportunity that would provide well for our little family..downside? We now have to move to KY and stay with his sister until we can get an apartment. I've never left my hometown in VA and I'm a bit of a holler hermit as DH calls it and now I'll be between Lexington and Louisville not to sure how I will take to city life, but here's to looking forward to a bright and beautiful future for our family. Just thought of another plus I'll be in town for scarefest this year!
I don't know why it took me so long, but I tried my white noise app on my phone and tucked it into the car seat with LO, and we had two 20 minute rides with not one cry!! Amazing!!!
(No lectures about the phone in the seat. I guarantee you driving with a screaming child is far more dangerous for me.)

I first got the boon collapsible tub...awful. It kept collapsing with the baby. I returned it for the BRU blue tub. I'm not liking it that much but I'm still using the sling. I also have the puj sink tub that's ok. It just seems awkward everytime I use it. Would love to have a better tub!

I'm using the Fisher Price 4 in 1 tub. Well, we were using it. Bath time is DHs thing and he prefers now just to fill up our tub and climb in with baby (he wants to expose baby to 'swimming' as early as possible). No complaints with the Fisher Price tub, when we use it we were still using the nb sling. There is a review on amazon about someone's LO cut their toe somehow on theirs, but they don't specify how that happened, and I personally don't see how it could happen or have had a problem with ours. Only thing even resembling a problem we've had is LO slides down in the sling a bit so if you have the tub pretty full he could get pretty close to the water line pretty quick. But, its not like you're not going to be watching your baby, so... I can't speak for how easy it is to use for one person, we always make bathtime a two person affair (DH does mostly everything, but I assist by dispensing shampoo, etc)

We got the whale of a tub bathtub and have no complaints other then it sucks to store when not giving a bath. But it has pads on the inside that prevent slippage
@Sjeff0816 we use the fisher price 4 in 1 and love it! We do bath times solo. Whoever is available bathes her at the time. Neither of us have ever had a problem. We are still using the sling until she can sit up.
I'm just sitting here with my boy in belly down hug mode on my chest after a day long screaming session...poor thing has been miserable all day. I fed him most of his bottle and he is passed out...finally...but I know I need to change his diaper. Sigh...I REALLY don't want to wake him up since he had such a rough day. I'm stuck here with my Netflix remote in sight, but out of reach, my laptop in sight but out of reach, my iPad in sight but out of reach, and a 30% battery life remaining on my phone...charger also in sight and out of reach. Guess it's time to watch paint dry because I am in baby feeding position with no chance of putting my head down...and no surprise, I need to pee!
Ah ha! The last few days I've been getting an occasional whiff of stinky cheese when holding LO. I've been cleaning her neck and hands, the usual sources, more often than usual but there was still another mysterious stank source. I just found it. Her fingernails! Somehow she gets enough nasty stuff jammed into those tiny tiny things to create a big stink. I just clipped and wiped them and now she smells nice, for the next 5 minutes at least.
@kristenk727 I hope not either!! Yikes. Good luck to us all!
@Sjeff0816 I still have the dang collapsible tub. Grrr! I pretty much hold her the entire time. She loves bath time so I really should just get the whale tub that one of my friends raved about and others have mentioned!
@swaugh14 I grabbed the cheap summer infant bather from Target today. It's like a mesh chair for $14. I can't justify spending more or getting another massive tub, otherwise I'd be all over the whale tub! I'll let you know how this one works. If anything, I figure it's good for travel because it folds up.
@Sjeff0816 Thanks - good to know! I think I saw the whale for only like $18 somewhere. No idea why I didn't just get it because I certainly curse the collapsible one every use!!
Random thing I've learned today - did y'all know skunks eat yellow jackets? We had been noticing some kind of flying, stinging insect coming in and out of a ground nest that was right up against the house by the front door, but couldn't identify them cause we never saw one still. We tried emptying a can of wasp and hornet killer into it at night and nothing was happening. Then this morning we woke up and the spot had been dug up and torn open, exposing the nest and a couple of sluggish wasps I could finally identity as yellow jackets. The only thing that digs up the yard like that we know of is a skunk, so we googled it, and sure as $h!t, skunks will dig up a bee or wasp nest and eat those suckers! I'm gonna wait until its pretty late and cooler and go sprinkle some honey near the nest to encourage him to come back and finish the job. And as a thank you. Thanks, Pepe, you did me a solid :-bd
I want a new tub. We have the 4moms and I LOVE the temp gauge (I would scald her for sure, and our water is really finicky here), and the fact that I can drain the dirty water and put in clean water without moving her is great. But it is just too damn small. The only part of her that's wet when it's full is her butt and a little of her torso and her thighs. She's probably so cold. I like the mentioned features but I feel like she's super uncomfortable. Gahhh I don't know if I should buy a new one. Dirty bath water grosses me out (even with adults, I don't get baths).

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.

I have a mesh chair that I picked out specifically because it would be easy to pack and I LOVE it!
Today was DS's first day of preschool. I have mixed emotions about it. I know this is just part of growing up, but it seems like just yesterday he was learning how to walk. I'm excited for him to make new friends and learn new things and for me to have a little one on one time with LO. I was so frazzled after a rough night with LO that I didn't even cry when I left him there. I hope it goes well, he is with me 99% of the time so this is a big step for both of us. :-SS
LO gets such a bad rash underneath her neck. I'm assuming from all her slobber. She's a pretty clean eater. It'll go away and come right back. We try our best to keep dry & clean. Any tips?
@katyqv the blue sequin and pink crochet. They're probably only going to fit for a hot minute but I don't care. LO got a pair of baby chuck Taylor's as a gift and I put her in them today and they were just so damn cute that I had to get the Toms!
@Kbchavez23 we alternate between baby powder and butt paste. It's never ending rash because she has no neck and sweats a lot. Happens in her armpits and arm rolls too.

@dancegurl1118 yes her wrists rolls have a little bit too! It probably doesn't help that it's still 106 degrees over here. It just looks so painful! I will try the alternating of the 2, thanks!
@Kbchavez23 I'm not sure if anything really helps but I use monistat anti-chafing gel. I tried diaper cream but it just attracted even more gunk and turned into stinky little white curds under there. The chafing gel dries to a powder finish so it keeps things fresh and dry and not as sticky. She is still red but not bleeding and way less stinky.
@dancegurl1118 I got LO the aqua chambray pair. I could have went crazy but I resisted. Zulily can be dangerous, just like Gilt and MyHabit. I've bought LO so much crap.

And the sling part is so tight she'll off it, so we don't use it. Maybe I'll just start jumping in the tub with her.
