GTKY: Where do you live?

Where do you live? What's the best thing about where you live?

I'm from Dallas, Texas. The thing I love most about it is the State Fair of Texas, which starts up in about a month!

If I have any food aversions to the greasy fair food I am going to 1. Be sad 2. Possibly give myself away.

  • I live in Oklahoma. Where the location and weather are both less than desirable, but the people are awesome. We travel a lot to seek out adventure, better views, and experience normal seasons, but I always love coming home to OK where my heart is full and near all most my loved ones.

  • I live in Pennsylvania. Best thing about PA... fresh produce from local farms.
  • Live in Orange County, California. I am not rolling in the riches like everyone assumes about people in Orange County (.thanks to TV) but we are happy. :) We have the mountains and ocean, desert and forests all close by. Oh, and water shortages too. That's "fun"! Common El Niño!

@baybeekay : totally! Going to visit my in-laws (who will be ecstatic) in West Palm Beach in less than 2 weeks. I live in Toronto, Canada.
  • I live in the DC metro area.... The only thing I can think of is that we have great airports close by so we can escape the city whenever possible :P

@bluejay3030 My best friend lives in the Rockville area (MD). I love to go and visit and find new places to explore in DC. I am always jealous of her...until winter comes. ;)

  • I live in New York. We live downtown so the best thing about our area is we have an actual neighborhood with cobblestone streets, cute, little restaurants and stores, but we also have access to everything that's stereotypical NY within 20 minutes.

@mslovesbo My sister is the same way. She visits all the time and is appalled that I don't take advantage of all the attractions. I just hate the traffic so much :((
  • Hey . !!! I live in sunrise florida !!!!!!
  • I live in Metro Detroit. The best thing about where I live is that there is a lake within 5 minutes of me in all directions.
  • Representing New Orleans!  This little shrimp is Cajun!

(I'll be big as a Buick at Mardi Gras...yikes)
  • From Chicago!
  • From Greenville South Carolina. I love that we are close to the beach and mountains. It's a big city feel in a small town
  • I live in Las Vegas now, but I'm originally from Bakersfield, California. I can say living here there's alot more things to do and see besides the strip.
  • North Florida girl here! I love the beaches and lack of harsh winters.
  • Central NJ here ! I guess the best thing about this area is 'location' ... I am within a 30 -60 drive to beach, NYC, Philadelphia , mountains, etc
  • Thornton, NH! The best thing about living here is being right in the white mountains and having easy access to all of my hobbies, having lots of peace and quiet, but also not being a terribly far drive away from "things to do" other than outdoorsy activities!
  • I live in upstate NY and I love having 4 seasons. I also love my proximity to big cities around me within 3-5 hours! (NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, Niagara Falls).

  • I'm also in Dallas! I am SO excited for the Fair. Last time all I could stomach was grease, hoping that happens again lol

  • Southern Californa (Whittier). I love living here. We're close to the beaches, mountains, etc. Great weather!
  • BC, Canada.
  • New Yorker here!  I'm a 25 minute drive (no traffic of course) into Manhattan and 20 minute drive to the beaches on Long Island.  The proximity to all is definitely what keeps me here.  On the other hand, the property taxes make me want to run.  Far away.  lol

Hi, same! Downtown Manhattan, west side! And yes, property taxes are awful. But I'll never leave, I can't imagine living anywhere else.
