Re: GTKY: Where do you live?

  • Greenville South Carolina! We just moved from NY this year and we immediately fell in love with this city!! Love being able to see the mountains every day!!

  • I'm in Raleigh, NC. I think the best thing is the amount of parks, walking trails, and beautiful places to go enjoy the outdoors in the middle of a huge city. It's beautiful here.
  • I live in Marietta, Georgia. The best thing about where I live is the weather! I also love the plants that grow easily here:).
  • I live in Northern Vermont. The best thing about living here is the seasons, right now the leaves are changing and its beautiful!
  • I'm in Milwaukee. We moved here 4 years ago from MA. The summers are nice, but I really miss Boston pretty much all the time. :(

Hello fellow Wisconsinite! I'm just a bit north of Madison :)
  • In Minneapolis, Minnesota. We moved into the city from the suburbs a year ago and we enjoy it so much more. There are tons of parks, access to public transportation, and no end of activities for the family. Another plus is our entire family lives within an hour of us, which has always been something that is important to us.

    Any other Minnesota Moms?
  • Chicago, I love our neighborhood and all the things to do. However, our place is getting crowded with #3 on the way. I hope we can find something bigger and affordable to stay close to where we are!

PITTSBURGH. Obviously I'm one of those people from Pittsburgh who think it's the best city out there. I just love everything about it!

@LadySamLady DH lived in Brooklyn Heights when we first met and loved it. I'm still obsessed with Cranberry's even though we've been in the West Village for 8 years! Our friends are getting married at the Brooklyn Historical Society in June.
My first apartment with DH was in the West Village and we lived there for 4 years. We still say that if money wasn't an object that's where we'd live permanently. We live in the suburbs now, but I miss it every day  :x

  • I'm about an hour north of Philly. I love food, and the proximity to the mountains and the beach, about an hour each way.
  • I'm currently in Olympia, Washington but will be in Tucson, Arizona this spring!
  • My husband and I live in Denver, CO.
  • I'm in Rhode Island. I moved here about 2 years ago.

I like lots of things here. Love the beaches and THE FOOD! I also like having really quick and easy access to Boston without having Boston real estate prices. Super easy to pop on the commuter rail and enjoy some Boston time and then head on back home.
  • North Alabama! I love the 4 seasons (I'm from Florida) and we are so close to so many places to visit.

  • Birmingham, AL area. The best thing is our Southern hospitality, food, and diversity.
  • I am originally from Northeast Ohio but am now in Conroe, outside of Houston, TX. Any Houston ladies interested in a get together?

I'm impressed by all the Pittsburghers and former Pittsburghers we have here! I'm another one :) I'm from rural PA and I've lived in Pittsburgh for 8 years. I love that there's always something to do here, it's a city with a small town feel, the skyline is gorgeous, and of course I love the sports. BUT I want to move back to somewhere rural and preferably near the mountains. I want easier access to hiking, camping, climbing, and all that fun outdoors stuff that I love. I say we're moving every winter but we're still here! Anyways, nice to meet you all!

  • I'm in Orange County, CA as well! But we just bought a home in TN because we wanted to get out of dodge. Things are getting to be a little to cray cray out here in Cali. COL, taxes, the education system (I'm a former teacher), traffic, pollution, the drought, you name it. We're ready for a more laid back kind of life. ;)

I live in Sarasota, FL. I LOVE the summers but hate the winters when all the old people come down. But I certainly can't complain about the weather :)

I love Sarasota! We got married in St. Pete Beach.

I'm originally from Germany, living for 5 years now in the States. Just moved last year from Lafayette, Louisiana to Houston. I like it here but do miss my family a lot.
  • I'm in Europe too, but I'm in Poland ☺️

I love it here because of the weather! I am from The Ozarks and I am used to some much heat and humidity. I quite like the cooler weather and the grey skies. Everything is always lush, green, and fresh. Plus I can walk everywhere which is nice.

Sadly we'll be heading back to the states next year (about the time of my due date, that'll be tricky...) and I'm hoping it won't be permanent.
  • Another Canadian here :) Winnipeg, Manitoba.

ETA: There is not much I "love" about living here. I've lived here my whole life and don't find anything particularly fascinating.

  • Charleston, SC. They say it's supposed to rain a whole lot, like crazy 20" rain the next few days but nothing is really going on.

  • Spring Hill, TN. The best thing about where I live is it's still a neighborhood where people don't always lock their house or car doors, it's in the country but 10-15 min away from the city, and I get to grow my own vegetables in my yard.

We're moving from Nashville to Spring Hill in the middle of October and cannot wait to escape the city!!
  • We live in Somerset, PA most know for Flight 93 and the 9 for 9 miners. I love living in the rural area and having Pittsburgh only an 1 hour away!

I only saw a few others in Washington, but they were all on the west side of the state.

I am in southeastern Washington (think Daffy Duck ;) ) It's the dry side of the state, which means hot summers and mild winters. I'm excited to be pregnant again, but during a different season :)
I live in Eastern Washington. :)

  • Missed this board whenever it started up, but I don't see anyone from my area, so here to represent Portland, Oregon!

Best thing about my city is that my family is here, but the food/art scene has gotten pretty fancy, so that's been nice.
