@virginiaunicorn11 I do the same damn thing. All the while telling myself, "you are supposed to be sleeping!"

LO fell into a nice, deep nap just before noon, and as I'm yawning and thinking about napping... I'm cleaning the kitchen and unpacking amazon boxes, putting stuff together that I am not going to use today and could totally wait until tomorrow when DH is home to share the duties. Wtf is wrong with me?

I read something about how somewhere between 6-9 weeks LOs go through a super fussy, super gassy stage. I read that their digestive tract goes through one of its final stages of development, hence the gas. I noticed starting at 8 weeks that LO is gassy 99% of the day. She constantly grunts and struggles and strains, farts a lot, has no problem getting burps out, and gripe water, burping, bicycles, gas drops, and her Zantac are all useless. She's fussy and gassy no matter what. She doesn't really scream a ton, just struggling constantly. I feel so bad and I plan to ask at her 2 month appointment on Monday, but has anyone else experienced this yet? It's been 4 days now and I feel so bad that I can't help.

I would be relieved to hear this is true... Because LO is miserable right now and it's making me so upset. If I knew it would end, I'd feel a lot better. I'm about to call my doc and tell her my baby is clearly broken!
  • I'm getting my hair done Monday. Going from 6 week regular appointments to not having it done for the last 3 months, fair to say this mumma is excited. Also my hairdresser has informed me that she's put new more comfortable chairs in.

Thinking about my new mummy colour and cut

  • @lovethatcolosun Happy birthday! Glad it's off to the right start after a crap week, to say the least xo
  • Happy birthday @lovethatcolosun !! <:-P
  • Also missing @KES1984 and hoping she is finishing her grad program strong!
  • I'd be so relieved if jts true about their digestive system. LO has always been super gassy and cries non stop sometimes until she gets whatever is in her out. I hear 3 months is the magic number. Counting down the days...which is sad. I hate to think of counting down days and knowing she's gonna grow so fast. But this period of gas and being fussy is terrible. Makes me feel like a bad mom
  • @lovethatcolosun Happy Birthday! Hope LO sleeping for a nice stretch is a sign that good things are coming your way!

    @lovethatcolosun happy birthday to you!
  • Belated happy birthday @lovethatcolosun !
  • I'm a little sad today because I barely know my kid. I feel like she's so random and inconsistent. when my mom asked me something I said "I don't know, what do you think?" And she says "she's your daughter" I felt so bad/guilty for not knowing her better. We play every day by ear and I follow her lead- which is different every time. Or maybe I don't pay close enough attention. Either way, I feel sucky.

Is this incident all that made you think you barely know your kid? I get oddly uncertain/ deferential to my mother, too. And babies ARE kind of random and unknowable at this age.
Big hugs, lady. I bet your kid knows you, and that you're the one who provides for every need.

Had to reschedule LOs 2 month app due to insurance issues. I wanted to know how much she'd grown and had been really looking forward to it. I also have to have a doctor who isn't her pedi.

    Stabby :-w
  • I can't find your Founder's breakfast stout ANYWHERE, @mellymar :((

It's become like a mystical unicorn to me, searching all over town trying to track it down. I live in one of the biggest cities in the U.S. There HAS TO be one! Right???

First, go to Founder's website and use the find beer tool to see where Founders is sold near you. That will help. Second, it IS a seasonal, so finding it during the summer is going to be harder, cause you're basically looking for a place that didn't sell out of their stock when it came in over the winter. I forget exactly when its released, but I think fall should see them easier to find.

If you're in one of the biggest cities in the US I'm thinking NYC, LA, Seattle...there will be a beer distributor somewhere that has some tucked away somewhere. Time to start visiting those out of the way beer sellers. There is one place near me I think still has some. I may have to make a trip up to have a look...

@mellymar doh! Totally makes sense that it's seasonal... My DH tried to tell me that but I didn't listen. Using the website; genius. My brain used to work. Swear.

ETA: tried website, didn't list "breakfast stout" but I'll keep trying. I'm sure bc seasonal. Says available oct-dec Wahhhh! Will try distributer... :)
  • @teather5 if you found a distributor via the website that sells founders, even tho the website doesn't have the link for breakfast stout right now, if you find a distributor that has a couple of other types of founders right now (all day IPAs, devils dancer, double trouble, rubaeus) they will be more likely to have some breakfast stout hanging around. By the way, Rubaeus is in season now... Maybe not as good for milk because its not a stout, but its tasty. Raspberry, mmm

I kind of feel the same way! It seems like so many people here know when their babes usually sleep and eat, etc, and I'm just like.... It changes? Maybe that comes from him only being 3 weeks but I definitely get the feeling bad for not knowing him better.
