I lost 6 lbs in my first trimester. I'm almost 17 weeks and have gained back almost 3 lbs. I was 30lbs overweight when I got pregnant so I am trying to really watch the gain. I walk 3 days a week and do light weight lifting 2 days. Hopefully that will help balance out the gain a bit
16wks and 1 day and I'm up 7.5 pounds. Don't focus so much on the number. My doctor just told me to eat when your hungry and try not to worry. Try to eat nutritious filling foods in small amounts. Also remember that your body is holding extra water weight, plus not to mention the extra weight I personally have gained in my boobs!
I'm 15 weeks & 2 days and have gained 5 lbs. I was lucky enough not to have any morning sickness, I just felt nauseous when I was hungry. As a FTM, I'm pretty happy about that!
I'm 17 weeks and am a pretty tiny individual. FTM, I have a little bump already and I've gained about 12-17 lbs. I was underweight though (as I am usually...weight charts weren't made for my tiny frame) so I think I have a lot more weight to gain. I've heard for first babies that it takes a while to get the bump going -- I was told as long as I get my fruits, veggies, protein and the appropriate amount of calories per day, my baby will grow healthy. So far, it's been true even though I'm technically still underweight.
First pregnancy, Lost 7lb first trimester being sick all the time and have yet to gain it all back. My appetite is crap compared to before baby took up residency but the bump is growing!
Still feeling like a whale at 14w4d and gained about 10 pounds. People have been commenting on my belly lately, even strangers congratulating me without confirming first, but I'm hoping I'm carrying big and low like my aunt did with my boy cousin!
16weeks and down 3 pounds still. At this point with my son I was up about 15 or more pounds. I just have no desire to eat this time, very different pregnancy.
17 weeks and over 10 lbs! Trying not to be too concerned about it. I gained almost 70 pounds last time, with mostly healthy eating and lots of exercise. My body just piles on weight while pregnant. @Pontot31 I definitely feel the same way you do!
They say under weight people tend to gain more. I was 97# when I got pregnant with my first and gained 57#!! Within a month and a half I basically lost it all but like 10 # which I was happy with:)
I'm not sure exactly. Before I got pregnant, I had been really good about calorie counting and watching what I eat and exercising really well and was so close to my goal weight of 130. I was about 133-135 when I found out I was pregnant and am now up to 145. I know I'll gain what I need to with the baby but it's hard not to be frustrated after working hard to get into my ideal shape. So I'm just trying to focus on being healthy I guess
Alright, am I the only one putting on more than that??? I'm 19 weeks Sunday and I've gained about 10 pounds. I looked at a weight tracker and it says 8-9 is average at this point in my pregnancy. Is that right or am I gaining too much?
16 weeks with my second and -3 lbs. I was -14 lbs with my first until I was finally back to neutral at 22 weeks and then I gained 34 lbs by my due date (born on due date, naturally... So weird). I have friends that gained 70 lbs with their first, they were in good shape before getting pregnant and were able to drop all the baby weight within a year of birth. It took me 18 months to drop my baby weight - but I continued breast feeding until 2 years so that could be the extra 5-10 lbs that seemed reluctant to leave.
Try not to weigh yourself at night as it has too many confounding variables. Rather weigh yourself first thing in the morning before eating or drinking, naked, preferably after eliminating. Constipation can add a couple pounds!
If you weigh yourself with the same conditions every time you should get a more accurate reading. For example, I can be 150 in the morning and 156 at night!
@nycmommy13 I am right there with you! I will be 19 weeks Sunday and have gained 14 lbs. All these "down" posts are making me think something is definitely up with me! LOL. I work out 2-3 times a week at the gym and walk 30 minutes through the neighborhood almost every night, I'm also a health nut when it comes to food soooo... Not really sure what else I can do!
I'll be 19 weeks in a few days. The scale says I'm up 1 lb from my pre-pregnancy weight, but honestly, I feel and look like I've gained more than that. Someone yesterday told me that it's a shame I'm having to go through the "pudgy part" of my pregnancy.
@amh0411712 I feel your pain with the awkward intestines thing. I'm at 14w+6 and while I can just barely feel my bump starting down on my pelvis, I have this weird gut blump up top. I'm not overweight but carry most of my fat on the front of my stomach normally, so now that's pushed up higher as well. It's just weird. I'll be looking forward to a real bump taking it's place so that I stop looking weirdly bulgy and start looking pregnant.
Edit: since this is a weight gain thing--I'm also up about 4-5lbs.
Just last week at my 14 week check up I found out I was only up 2 pounds from my last visit. I am a really small young woman but the doctor says I'm within normal range. Hopefully there will be more weight gain at my next visit.

I'm so glad to know I'm not alone on this. It's annoying and just awkward. I also seem to carry my weight the same so I'm sure that attributes to it
16 weeks and 6 lbs gained. Last time gained total of 20lbs which I lost in less than a year. However have gained it all back over the past 6 years! So not as much room to gain this time around! ☺️

I have a weird gut type bump going on, all my intestines have moved up and it's just awkward all around.
