I'm 17 wks today, and have gained 8 lbs total. As of last week, I had only gained 4. I'm still working out 5-6 days per week, and eating healthy 80% of the time. It's difficult to see the scale go up, but I'm trusting that my body will do what it needs to, in order to keep baby healthy!
@slafrenz It's definitely difficult to have those weeks of sudden gain, but it looks like it's all balancing out for you. And while I'm working out regularly, I'm definitely not eating terribly healthy, so you're doing better than me!
I gained two lbs in the first 13 weeks, then gained five pounds during the following two weeks, and now I've gone two weeks with no gain. I was so scared that gaining 2-3 pounds a week was going to be the norm for me in the second tri, so I was glad to have a couple weeks of remaining steady!
I'm 17 weeks 5 days right now with my 5th baby and I've only gained 1 lb.(Never experienced morning sickness though.) I'm sure the scale will change very soon though. I eat a ton. Plus I walk 2 miles every evening with my husband & kids. I am 5'3 and 120 lbs pre-pregnancy.
@nycmommy13 I am right there with you! I will be 19 weeks Sunday and have gained 14 lbs. All these "down" posts are making me think something is definitely up with me! LOL. I work out 2-3 times a week at the gym and walk 30 minutes through the neighborhood almost every night, I'm also a health nut when it comes to food soooo... Not really sure what else I can do!
I would not worry at all being healthy is the most important. You probably will lose everything much faster than most afterwards. Probably fuilids, not fat
Will see on the 23rd for me, no idea where I am at, I have a cute bump, makes me feel so fat when I am naked. But once dressed it is cute...
I gained 25lbs with my first two pregnancies and closer to 30lbs with third. Right now I'm 15weeks and already 10lbs up. I'm a lot older this time around and already at the full term weight for previous deliveries Hope it comes off as quick. It's mostly blood our capacity really increases during pregnancy and water retention.
17w 1 d & I've gaining between 3-4 pounds depending on the day. This is my fourth pregnancy. With my first two I gained 30/35lbs with my last almost 50!!!. Not the way to go. Even though I lost 25 in the first month...Not recommended :-)
Just went to the doctors and I'm down 5lbs from 10 days ago. So confused. At my last weigh in I had eaten pizza the night before and was wearing heavier trousers and a sweater. Today I'm wearing really light clothes and have an empty stomach.
16 weeks up 8 lbs. Thats about right, I gained 30-35lbs last w/last two pregnancies and that is about the rate I gain. Never have MS either so gain 5 lbs always in first tri and the last two preg. went to due date and the other was induced!
19w1d today, just got back from 2 weeks all inclusive in Ibiza..
I think the scales are lying to me...
From pre pregnancy weight, I have gained 18lbs!! I have a massive bump and all my usual clothes (well, stretchy ones of course!) still fit great and just accentuate it!
Although, I can honestly say, I have never felt so good in a bikini!! Bigger boobs, curves I've never had before and a cute bump!! I had so many ladies comment on how well I looked!!
So whether you're gaining, losing or staying exactly the same, just make sure you embrace it & love your new bod!!
17 weeks today, lost 20lbs from morning sickness (its been rough), dr says its fine, was not over weight before but i am eating a lot and still not gaining, still puking though!
I hear you @jessicaglickman . 20 weeks, was down 20, but may have gained 2-3 pounds. I just have to wait a few days to see if it sticks. . Dr also says baby is good. He even measured big at our anatomy scan. I have heard that baby will get what it needs, but was still shocked.
Reviving this thread because I had an appointment today and apparently my body is playing catch-up since I didn't gain anything during the first tri... Sitting at an 8lb gain now at 20w.
OK WTF - I lost 5lb in the first 12 weeks and here I am 6 weeks later and up 7lb from my starting weight (so basically I gained 12lb in 6 weeks!!!!). Ugh, transformation complete!
That's normal. I gained my weight approximately between 12-16. I've been ok I think, as long as the baby is fine I'll figure it out later. But I'm around the same range. They say you gain it towards the end, only because your baby will start getting heavier.
20 week with twins and I'm up 5 pounds. I'm small pre-preg and gained between 20-25 with my first 2, so doctor told me to aim for 30 or so this pregnancy. Babies have been measuring right on track at every ultrasound, so I'm not stressing about it. It certainly feels like a lot more than 5 pounds given the size of my belly.
I'm 16 weeks and ive gained 5 pounds...but I've gone up from a size 5 Jean to a size 12...thanks hips...my doctor is a little concerned, but with my DD I didn't gain any actual weight in the beg. And gained all of it the second half of my pregnancy...
I've gained 1 lb, I'll be 19 weeks on Friday. I gained about 12-13 lbs with my DS but I was always getting sick! I'm guessing this time it might be similar. Still have some morning sickness but it's not too bad if I eat small meals throughout the day
20 weeks and lost two pounds. My doctor isn't worried yet... baby is growing well and my stomach is huge already. I was about 20 pounds overweight to begin with.
I lost 14 lbs in the first trimester and I haven't gained a pound since. Pretty sure baby is taking all of the weight and I'm just losing. I love being yelled at by the doctor for not eating. My bad I was sick for 12 weeks. I'm eating now like all the time I just think my metabolism kicked into high gear.
I lost 14pounds ( went from 11.2 to 10.2) but now I'm 10.9 at 19 weeks so have put on 7 pounds....or lost 7 pounds. Depending on how you look at it :-) I'm quite happy with the numbers but I feel like I look so fat very down and conscious about my appearance. Can't wait for a few more weeks to let everyone know that in pregnant not fat. Which is so stupid because like I said I'm half a stone lighter! But my belly looks about a stone heavier
I've gained 8 pounds and I'm 20 weeks tmrw. My midwife said that baby is going to be beefing up in the next few months and that I should pay a bit more attention to eating. I'm naturally underweight for my height, totally healthy and eat generally healthy but she said I will want to have some extra fat reserves aside from just the weight of the baby and placenta and fluid. Started at 110pds.
I'm 18 weeks today and I've gained 8 pounds total. In the first tri I was so sick that I actually lost about 5 pounds. Then by week 13 the only thing I could stomach was crackers, pasta and potatoes... That's not really a good thing for keeping weight gain on track. I tried healthy food but I would end up vomiting it up. I'm finally over my sickness now (right around week 16) and I am trying to make good food choices and stick to my nutritional guidelines. It's hard to let your body do its thing! But gaining a few extra pounds is nothing if you have a healthy little one to show for it

So now at 19 weeks I have a 7.5 lb weight gain.

1st trimester I lost some weight bc of how awful I felt, but 2nd I'm eating all the time...
Kidding, kind of. But as long as my doc says I'm healthy and on track I try not to stress. I think I'm at 15 pounds at 16 weeks.
I gained my weight approximately between 12-16.
