17+3, and still down 5 lbs. I see the doctor on Wednesday of next week so well find out what she had to say about all of this. I'm enjoying food and eating well again so I feel like that's a good sign.
I kind of wish this thread would go away because every time I see it on the front page I am reminded I feel like a whale.
Kidding, kind of. But as long as my doc says I'm healthy and on track I try not to stress. I think I'm at 15 pounds at 16 weeks.
Hahah I feel you. I've gained over 15 pounds at 18 weeks.
I hate this thread! I'm at 19+6 and have gained 12 lbs, from 112 to 124. My doctor says I am doing great, and it's really mostly in my boobs and belly, but all of you ladies who haven't gained any weight (or who have lost it) are making me super insecure. I've always been very thin, and have to keep reminding myself that I'm pregnant, and not fat!
I fluctuate. At week 17 I lost 5lbs suddenly though I ate like a cow that week so hubby made sure I ate a lot that night. Well I gained it back and have been steady at 138-141 for 19 wks. Was 126 prepregnancy and that was my winter weight since I am a gardener and usually a steady 120-123. I am petite at 5'3 and muscular. I excersise a lot for my job and my hobbies are running, yoga, and hiking. I do indulge. Dammit if I can't drink I'll eat ice cream! Lol.

Yes! And remind yourself that this weight gain is good. Your body needs extra fat storage for a healthy baby and healthy milk. Every time I eat a meal and I feel so full I remind myself that baby is happy and getting tons of nutrients to help it grow.
I'm 17 weeks and I've gained 22 lbs. Most of it is in my hips and my boobs. I was lucky and didn't have hardly any sickness my 1st trimester and when I saw my OB at 15 weeks she said as long as I am eating a healthy diet and making sure baby has everything it needs its nothing to be concerned about. I'm naturally bottom heavy so it makes sense that that's where my weight went first. I was discouraged because I don't really have a baby bump, I just look fat, but I suppose that just comes with time. My point is, every pregnancy is different. If you are worried about your weight gain or lack of weight gain, talk to your OB. As long as baby is healthy, the weight can come off after they're born and if you feel like you're not gaining enough the Dr. Will help you solve it.
I'm 18w1d and according to my scale at home I still haven't gained a pound. I fluctuate in the mornings when I first wake up and weigh myself but it stays pretty consistent around one weight or one pound down or up. It's very strange to me, I was expecting to gain weight by now but I also have not had a big appetite this whole pregnancy and it's not from being sick I'm just not hungry. Nothing what I was expecting!

Oh I found my body twin! Thank you!
I started at 113lb and have always been in the 109lb-113lb range for weight. So earlier this week I posted my shock that despite losing 5 lbs in the first trimester, I have since ballooned to what I thought was 120lb. Well... I weighed myself this AM and I'm actually at 123.5lb. I see the OB this AM and since I just down breakfast, I'm sure that number will look slightly higher on this end. WTF! How on earth did I basically gain 16lb in 6 weeks (taking into consideration my -5lb in the first trimester). Just gross.
No offence but I'm hating everyone who has lost weight right now. Lol. I haven't weighed myself but feel like a have a big fat gut that was never there before and boobs are bigger too. I'm 16w5d and hoping it's the baby pushing all my organs up and pushing the bit of pudge I already had outwards.
Anyway, first world problems. I just need to focus on being grateful for my healthy baby and having an amazing body that can grow a beautiful human. Bring on the real bump though.
I'm at 19w and have gained 7 pounds. At 12 I had not gained any and by 15 weeks i gained 3 pounds. However i consider myself lucky because my mother told me when she was 5 months pregnant she looked 7 months and we are built almost the same. Dont focus on weight. Focus on health !
I had consistently been up 2 lbs at every 4-wk visit. I'm 20.5 wks now and up 14 lbs (didn't have any morning sickness in 1st tri). I'm also slightly worried bc I'm also only supposed to gain 25 lbs. I need to get back to the gym, but work 60+ hr wks (a lot on my feet) during the summer, so I just want to have my feet up when I'm home!
I'm a little over 17 wks and i've apparently gained like only 3 pounds so far this whole pregnancy... I was really sick for my first trimester so my dr isn't concerend because, she said that she noticed i gained an adequate amount of weight for this past month.
20 weeks today & down 5 lbs from May checkup, that's 12 lbs since I got pregnant. Dr. wants me to "gain at least 2 lbs by next time". I feel like I'm eating all the time, and I have never thrown up food, so idk what else to do
I'm 18 weeks and I've gained 9lbs. I started at 131 and now I'm up to 140 and I'm 5' 7.5" My doc says I've gained way more than he would like to see...it's really making me feel discouraged...He told me to exercise more and cut back on my portions. I haven't changed my diet or exercise from before the pregnancy and generally eat quite healthy overall...not sure what to think
18w3d have gained 5lbs...with my first son I gained 55lbs - trying to be more conscious as to what I eat and running around after a 2 year old all day helps too
@stcy05 I think I'd be finding a new doctor (ok, maybe that's extreme, but still). Nothing like a man saying that a pregnant woman is gaining too much weight. From all I've read, you're right within a normal range of weight gain for 18 weeks. I mean, you're almost halfway through your pregnancy! What a punk...I'd be seriously pissed. I'm no doctor, but I wouldn't worry if I were you.
Wow. I am 19 weeks today. 5'6". I started at 142, I now weight 159. I'm away on an extended trip for work and won't see my doctor for another two weeks. I'm worried she's going to be alarmed by my weight gain--now I am!!!! I walk 4mi a day and eat healthy, but maybe should try cutting out sugar and limiting portions?
I am just about 19 weeks and have gained 20 lbs. this is baby 6 and I have never gained this early with any of the others. Typically I have averaged about 30-40 lbs gained with each of them. I'm very worried this time around.
You're the closest one to me in pre-pregnancy weight, I started at 136-137 and I'm 18 wks 3 days and have gained 9 lbs. My doctor said I'm good, I wouldn't worry. I mean, we're almost half way there and almost 5 months and we've only gained 9-10 lbs! I think it's ok. I do need to boost my walks, from 2 times a week to 3-4 times. Best of luck and you're doing great!
19 weeks and up 11 lbs. I'm glad other ppl are feeling frustrated by this thread too. I feel like it self selects for the magical women out there who have gained little or even lost. Maybe us average/over gainers are feeling a little hesitant to share honestly because of it. I know I hesitated for that reason!
17 weeks and I've gained 10. Gained 42 with my son. I had terrible cravings for sweets with him. This go round I haven't craved much. I'm active and exercising so I'm ok with my weight gain and so is my doctor.
I am 20W2D & have gained 4 lbs but have not lost anything. I am anticipating that number to jump enormously seeing as I have been eating everything in sight! Next appointment is 7/1 so I still have some time to gain. I typically weigh about 160-165 depending on the week
I have gained 2 pounds and am 17 weeks. The nurse told me that I had gained too much and not to gain anymore by next appointment. I was a healthy weight before. I almost started to cry.

Wait... what? 2lb in 17 weeks is too much? Please tell me that was a typo and you left off a "0"?
She told me any weight gained before week 20 isn't baby related and it is just weight I gained. I do crossfit 5 times per week and eat healthy with the occasional skinny cow ice cream bar! She really upset me! She expects 2 pound total gain by the half way point...what??
