Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering where everyone is with weight gain thus far. I didn't gain any weight in my first trimester because I was sick pretty much the entire time. I 16w 4 days today. I just weighed myself and I'm up 7.5 lbs! Problem is that was just in the last 3 weeks?!?!?! My doctor told me according to my weight and height, no more than a 25 lb weight gain. I have been feeling a lot better so have been eating more but not enough to gain that much weight lol?!! I'm kind of freaking out and just wondering how everyone else is doing. Thanks
Re: Where is everyone at with weight gain?
I fluctuate between 2 pounds down and 2 pounds up. At my appointment on Tuesday, at 13 weeks, I hadn't gained a pound.
I am not a fan of doctors putting weight limits on women. Some just gain more or less.
I gained 70lbs with my daughter. 40 of it was gone in a week.
This time I am trying to be better and watch myself but my midwife is not putting a limit on me.
You also might find that you gain in spurts and then not again for a week or 2. I would look overall and not week to week

In my person opinion (so don't shoot me down!) you know if you're being sensible with your eating choices. So many factors attribute to pregnancy weight gain... Boobs, bloat, fluid and baby. It's impossible to know if the weight you think you've gained is any of those! It's also normal to put more weight on one week and none the next. Pregnancy is such a short time out of your life in the long run, I would just enjoy it, not feel guilty for eating that extra donut and try to be sensible when you can. :-)
*disclaimer: I know some ladies need to track weight for medical reasons. I'm talking about straight forward gals and pregnancies specifically*
