Re: RTT 2.0

  • Thanks ladies! It sure was/is a mess. I feel so bad for my babies, they are both so miserable and I can't really help them :( Hopefully it will pass quickly and not take us down too. DH and I had planned a much needed date night for Saturday night and it will stink if we have to cancel!

  • Oh man @LolaX2‌ , that's rough. I hope they feel better soon and yall can get some rest tonight!
  • A little 3 year old boy died in our city today after wandering out in to the frigid cold in the middle of the night in just a pull up and a t-shirt. It's so heart breaking. Hold your babies tight tonight mamas.
  • OMG how heartbreaking :(

I saw this on the news. When they announced they found him without vitals, I was hoping for a miracle. My heart aches for that boy and his family.
  • @LolaX2‌ I hope your little ones feel better soon! What a rough night for you! Sending all the coffee and healthy thoughts your way.
  • If you haven't heard Samuel L. Jackson read the book "Go the Fuck to Sleep." YouTube it.

OMG. We actually have this book. My sister-in-law bought it for us. My mom was reading to DH the other day and pulled it from the shelf and was like "What in the hell is this??!!" Quite funny.

Oh god this is so awful! I have tears in my eyes right now. I am going to scoop up my baby when I get home and love on her even if she protests (and she will)

  • That is so devastating about the little boy. Anyone have link to the story? (Has a fund been set up for donations? )

@LolaX2‌ I hope it passes quickly and no one else gets it.
  • It's so incredibly sad. I can't stop thinking about that poor liitle boy.

@Talltrees82‌ - I was really hoping for a miracle too. It seems like the whole country was watching and waiting for news.

Me too. I'll admit I shed some tears as I snuggled my LO this evening. It's all over my FB feed. Here's a link:

So, so awful. I can't even imagine what his family must be going through.  What a terrible tragedy.
  • Im an idiot... I made a dentist apt for Monday without figuring out what to do with baby... so I finally called to cancel it and turns out the office is closed today, meaning I will be charged if I call and cancel Monday. Anyone want to come to Rochester NY and babysit? lol

  • I'm in Ontario too--that poor baby :-(. That was my worst fear when my older son was younger. He had the ability to get out of his crib, unlock doors, open doors with childproof covers, scale baby gates etc, well before he was old enough to understand the risk. He was an escape artist at like a year and a half. We found him downstairs from time to time and that was bad enough, but I was always afraid of what would happen if he left the house in the night...I really feel for that family.

Also, I've taken the baby to the dentist with me before! She just sat next to the chair in her bucket seat. I was worried about it, but the office staff said people do it all the time. Maybe that's an option?

Oh man! Do you have any family or friends in the area that could help out for a few hours? If I wasn't an internet stranger 2 hours away I would help you out! I bet our DD's would love playing together!

Edited *changed "bed" to 'bet" oops!
  • Luckily my MIL offered to help...it sucks because she is 20 minutes away and my Dentist office is 2 miles from my house lol... but at least she can do it. Maybe Im super naïve, but oddly, I would trust you :)

  • Why does the dog insist on being let out in the yard the second we arrive home from a walk? It's -20c out there dog! Not any warmer in the yard than it was on the street!
  • @JWest07‌ so far dh and I have avoided it. Man I really hope we are spared! Both kids are still pretty miserable. No more puking but very tired and crancky with snot noses. Tired but they won't sleep ugh. Currently dh is trying to get our 3 year old to vo to sleep as he is crying a d throwing a fit and I am being held hostage by dd. She will only sleep if I hold her rigtt now or else she will just scream and cry. Ugh another long night in store I'm afraid.

I want DH home to help put the kids to bed, but after that, please feel free to go so that I can watch all the shows!
  • Hi there! ^^

  • @Amsull324‌ Hi! The best part about having an RTT is that you don't have to keep up! Just randomly spew something out...or at least that's what I do lol ( while everyone reads my posts and shakes their heads at my silliness).

  • We signed the paperwork on a new house today and sold our house on 2/14. The level of stress it have right now is driving me to drink half a bottle of wine tonight!

Houses can be so stressful, but hopefully the hardest parts are done now. Congrats!

  • Off to work today and I'm so tired of dh complaining about being with the kids all day. I swear, the worst part of working Saturdays is the weekly guilt trip from him. Sigh. He's a good dad in general, but sometimes he acts like he deserves an award for spending time with the kids, which pisses me off.

  • I think I am just about done breastfeeding - I am just not producing enough. When at work for 8 hours, I'm pumping twice and only producing 2 ounces total. Also, after I feed LO I have to supplement with formula since I know I'm not giving her enough. 2 ounces just doesn't seem like worth all the work. I remember dreading bf in the beginning when I was sore or she would eat for 40 minutes every time, but now I'm so sad!!! It breaks my heart that we won't have that mommy daughter time every morning and night before bed while she eats!

For those of you who had to stop already, Is it even possible to stop without it being painful/feeling constantly engorged?? Tips??

This sounds like my story exactly! I was down to producing 2 oz after 3 pumpings at work and I also gave DD a bottle of formula after feeding. Its nice to know I am not the only one. I quit in December. I just pumped once a day for two days then did every other day twice and stopped. I did pump once after a week because I was curious and I didn't even cover the bottom of the bottle. Then I gave my pump to a friend and that was it. No problems or discomfort, but I still get a little milk if I squeeze.

It wasn't bad for me. I cut down to twice a day for a week, and just stopped after that. I was mildly uncomfortable the first week, but nothing bad.

Mind you, I cant stand the woman... but mothers should not be attacking mothers! Everyone is different but that doesn't make us any more or less a mother than others!

^^^ this. I just quit 3 weeks ago. I was at the point that it was no longer worth the time enery and stress and I was only getting enough for one bottle on a good day. It is so great to no longr be a slave to the pump but I do miss nursing dd.

I think people got riled up because of the picture, an some of the roles listed on it. I'm not attacking her or any mother, but I'm pretty sure she has it easier than most of us. She doesn't have to worry about cleaning her house or cooking dinner for her family. And I think she knew she was stirring the pot with this comment.
