@jarrard1983 I haven't tried to eat a burger yet, I'm pretty nervous. Fries have made me spike, though=(
I'm not sure about mcdonald's burgers but bar burgers have been good, so have set potato fries. I think the beef provides a ton of protein so it helps the sugars break down correctly.
Sigh. Bad dinner number today. High fasting number this morning. Feeling frustrated and nervous about what the GD nurse will say next week.
Yep, my dinner number sucked. My numbers were all 80 or below all day until dinner. 149.. I'm so frustrated. I guess I just can't eat like they say I can unless I walk a bunch right after. So, I guess I need to stick w/ eating non countable foods for the most part...
I had a huge bacon burger at my favorite "gourmet" joint last night. Substituted the fries for a caesar and wound up at 109. I think all the protein mellows out the carbs from the bun.
I also don't seem to have an issue with pizza, which seems odd to me.
But if I eat a meat burrito, tamales, or pretty much any Mexican... SPIKE!
Andplusalso, I had a fasting number below 90 this morning. It's been almost a month since that's happened. Yay!
I just had a small glass of wine with dinner. My blood sugar was still good. So now I'm going to eat apple pie and ice cream...... I already took my dinner sugar so it doesn't count right?
This is my second go with GD too. It doesn't make it easier. Lol. Almost harder. Lol.
I had a F-it day yesterday. Rice crispy treat for breakfast & pizza, breadsticks & brownies for dinner. loved it but my numbers were terrible. It was 191 around 7:30pm. I had an extra protein shake & got it down it 124 before bed. This a.m. It was 107 for my fasting & my numbers have been good today. I think I'm going to have an F-it day once every 2 weeks & keep my numbers really good the rest of the time. Lol. It felt good to have the freedom to just eat like crap- but I definitely felt like crap when my numbers were 191. So I'll probably not splurge that big again. I needed it after a stressful week.

I am so glad I'm not the only one who "cheats" after the dinner reading, lol!
I know this should probably go on the food thread, BUT, hubby went to the store and came back with sugar free jello. 1 carb in the orange and strawberry and 2 in the cherry. O.M.G. I am so happy right now. I was super down today because of my bad number last night and just overall bored of not having sweet stuff to splurge on without hurting the babe. This totally made up for it. If you haven't tried it, get some! Seriously. I could eat my weight in it haha
