@BethKate2 I hear ya. I'm facing about a 90ish % chance of mc at this point. It's so hard not to freak out. My New Years resolution is to stress less. One of the hardest things I'll ever do. I feel like stressing will only make things worse. My way of coping? Lots of TV, solitaire and food. Maybe not the best but if it's what gets me through then it works. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know what happens tomorrow.

IUD out 8/29/13 and TTC since then. BFP12/29/13 Bleeding 1/17/14 with LO showing 10 days smaller. NMC 1/26/14
Continued trying every month. Began seeing RE 7/2014.
12/2/14 got first Rx for Clomid for following cycle. 12/3/14 BFP!!! No heartbeat at 8w4d. D&C scheduled for Jan 7, 14
5w, 5d. Still here. It's been four days...its a super light tan discharge and only happens in the morning or if I take walks with the dog. I've been trying to take it super easy while I'm home. At my appointment for blood work they said I wouldn't see the OB or have a sonogram until post 8 weeks. This is my first pregnancy so I'm unsure and uneasy about everything.
I've been spotting since last night. Really dark brown, only when I wipe. I'm trying not to let myself worry, because I know it could be nothing. I'm going to call my OB in the morning to ask. I have my ultrasound next Wednesday. I was also in the ER three days ago from dehydration (stomach bug), and they did a dildocam but couldn't see much because they said their machine was terrible, but everything looked ok.
Joining you ladies ..today I am 5 w 6 d. I have had a few instances of light brown spotting when I wipe, especially after BM. Today I had red spotting after BM. My first appointment isn't until the 15th and I am so afraid I won't make it to that day. PGAL brain is in high gear. Sorry you are all going through this .
I went to the bathroom a little while ago, and had pink spotting when I wiped, but not the last time I went to the bathroom. Earlier today I had some very mild cramping, but thought it was from doing a lot (moving some heavy boxes and putting Christmas tree, etc) and not drinking much. My 1st appointment isn't scheduled until 1/13, would you call the doctor tomorrow just to see what they say? I will be 7 weeks tomorrow.
@fowlerpfs, my guess is they won't have you come in early for one-event spotting but it doesn't hurt to call the office during regular hours to tell the nurse "hey, this happened, what do you think?"
@bethkate2 I am sending so many thoughts and prayers your way. I am glad they are getting you in today. I have heard so many stories of women with SCH that bleed very heavily and think things are over and it is nothing. I hope that is what happens for you.
I had an ultrasound at 10 1/2 weeks with my last pregnancy. Internal. Started spotting the day after (Friday). and I mean, you could only see it when I wiped. There was NEVER much. Just a little line of blood. By Wednesday I was still spotting. No cramping. Didn't feel any different. Called my OB and told her that I wasn't worried, but had been spotting since Friday. She ordered blood work and by Friday I found out that my levels had gone from 9500->7200 and I was going to lose the baby. Miscarried the following Monday and Tuesday.
I had read that it was common as well, and I thought mine was because I had the internal ultrasound. I've had 2 internal ultrasounds this pregnancy (because now I am pretty anxious/terrified/unsettled about being pregnant again), but I haven't spotted at all. I would let my OB know right away if I started spotting again. Personally, I wouldn't be able to convince myself that it was ok.
Because everyone is saying not to worry about it and it's completely normal. For me it wasn't and I don't think telling people to just wait it out is the right answer. Talking to your OB if it happens is the right answer. Not saying it's normal.

No, not everyone is saying not to worry. Did you read through the thread? I realize it's 15 pages at this point, but most of the ladies in this thread who have had bleeding have called their OB/RE about it. Bottom line: your post wasn't helpful.

Not to mention, I didn't need a pad when I was spotting, and that's when posters are saying it's time to talk to your OB. Your OB should be there whenever you need them. I told my story because I am being realistic. You don't have to agree. I'm not saying that because you are spotting you are going to miscarry. I'm saying that's what happened to me when I thought everything was ok because the forum I was on was giving me the same advice.
My advice was "Talk to your OB if you are spotting"
Uhg. Joining you ladies today. Had some red spotting after a BM this morning. Called the OB office and because they're watching me closely anyway, set me up for an appointment today at 3. This will be an incredibly long four hour wait. Blah. I didn't realize how stressful this could be until it happened to me, since spotting happens for lots of women and is "normal". FX for all of you!

What is considered spotting? Maybe 4 or 5 times now, there has been the tiniest bit of super light brown (could almost be yellow) in my cm when I wipe. It's not every time and never looks pink or red and I'm not cramping. Is this something I should make my Dr. aware of?

@kick1986 I'm sorry you went through that. I agree, bleeding of any kind is not normal. No one is belittling anyone's symptoms or feelings in this thread. Let's not cause any panic or additional stress on these ladies. That is unnecessary. This thread has helped many of us and should not turn into a place filled with negativity.
It's fine if you all want to be close minded, but I LITERALLY just went through this a few months ago and I WISH someone had told me "Hey, it's PROBABLY nothing to worry about, but this is what happened to me."
This is apparently a forum of bitchy women who want to be kept in the dark. My spotting PROBABLY had nothing to do with my ultrasound. Nobody knows, especially not any of you. So thanks for making me feel MORE uncomfortable than I ever did on the OTHER forum full of bitches I was on. I'm leaving this forum which probably makes all of you happy, but hopefully in the future, you don't jump someone because they were being honest and telling their story trying to make a point. I KNOW how terrifying it is. I'm not even SPOTTING this time and I'm terrified.
But it's cool. All of you guys are doctors and know exactly what you are talking about.

I've posted here in the past but opted out after awhile because I was literally just too anxious to keep talking about it. But here I am, still.
I'm 8w5d and I've literally been spotting/bleeding since somewhere in my 5th week. We saw a heartbeat at 6w3d but that doesn't really comfort me anymore. My next appt isn't till Jan 12th, and I just can't make myself call before then. I know they can't do anything about it and my bleeding got a little worse after my last tv ultrasound so I'm not eager for another.
Mostly just wanted to say thanks to all of you who have been brave enough to share your stories. Fx to all of you... Cause this just straight up fuckin sucks.
I experience spotting which turned into bleeding and miscarriage and around 6.5 weeks during a prior pregnancy. It started out vary faintly visible when I wiped for about two days. I had some pressure in my abdomen but cramping did not progress until 4-5 days later when the miscarriage was full-steam ahead. I went to the ER (based on the recommendation of my on-call midwife) and they did an u/s and blood test. They determined I was RH negative and gave me a shot of Rhogan (sp?) but were not able to confirm whether I was miscarrying, only that I was measuring behind (4.5 weeks). At this point I had a really bad feeling and kind of knew something was wrong. The midwife wanted to do a wait and see approach which was the general philosophy of their practice but waiting was creating too much emotional turmoil so I ditched the midwife and found an ob/gyn in the area who brought me in for repeated blood draws and another u/s. My HCG level were dropping and they were able to see active bleeding in the u/s so the doctor was able to determine the miscarriage was 90% likely. For me, being as informed as possible was the best way to get through it (even though there is so much noone knows about this stuff). And while it might not be the best approach, I know that if I see blood again I'm going straight to the ER (luckily the er near me as absolutely amazing and have i good insurance).
Just talked with my OB. He said to stay off my feet for the weekend and come in on Monday for an ultrasound. He also said if the spotting turns to bleeding that I need to go to the ER. I'm trying so hard not to worry.
I peed a few mins ago and it seemed brighter red, so of course I started bawling. I hate the waiting game.
I noticed a couple ladies saying they were having spotting after a BM... I'm sure you guys have probably all researched this, but bleeding can happen from anal fishers and hemorrhoids due to the increased pressure the uterus puts on bowel.
We got in for an u/s today and saw the baby and heartbeat again. The tech didn't give any details, so I'm waiting for a call from the doctor. I really hope she calls tonight.

I had the tiniest amount of blood when i wiped yesterday evening and haven't had any since. My friend told me to call the doctor but i don't know if i should as it was a very very small amount? Xx
7 weeks 1 Day: I had some bright red spotting today after using the restroom. It really freaked me out because I had worse than normal cramping and have previously had a mc. Thankfully my doctor had me come in for a second ultrasound so I wouldn't stress all weekend and everything looked great. It's crazy how you can have proof of everything being ok, but PGAL brain never really goes away. Hoping the spotting doesn't come back. Thanks to everyone for sharing your stories and I hope you all find some peace and relaxation this weekend. T&P for all!
I have spotted occasionally since week 5 of my pregnancy but only after I wipe. The colors have ranged from light pink to brown. I had a TV ultrasound at 5 weeks 2 days and saw only the gestational and yolk sacs. I had a 2nd TV ultrasound at 6 weeks 2 days and they were able to see baby with a heartbeat of 120.
I was scheduled for an appointment earlier today and when I woke up I had a decent amount of brown color when I wiped and I was very scared but I went to my appointment and they did an abdominal ultrasound this time. My gummi bear is measuring right on track at 8 weeks and 6 days with a great heartbeat of 172bpm.
I know how scary spotting is and it is hard to stay positive but I just wanted to share that everything can definitely turn out okay!
Update: went in yesterday because of the spotting and was prepared for the worst. I made H come too because I was so nervous. Instead of bad news, it ended up being better than expected. We saw heartbeat!
Thanks for all your posts, ladies. Sometimes reading about other experiences makes yours more bearable and less lonely.

Well I go here again. Bleeding started earlier this afternoon. More than spotting but not enough to call the doctor. It's not bright red this time. It's almost black.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Feels like you can't catch a break. I hope black means old blood that was hanging around. Did your doctor dx you with SCH? U/S is Monday right?

@kick1986 your spotting and subsequent mc may not have even been related at that time (since you only started spotting right after the ultrasound).
