  • That's it for me ladies. Made the appointment to see the OB this morning. Used the restroom before we left. A clump of tissue and clotting came out... I just knew.
Doctor confirmed with vaginal ultrasound. We lost the baby.

Good luck to you all! I hope your pregnancies go smoothly and all your babies are beautiful and healthy!

  • Spotting again (for the second time) last time was a few days ago. It's very light pink in color and only when I wipe definitely not enough for a panty liner, also no cramping. The first time it happened my OB told me not to worry about it , and although it technically isn't bad currently, this is the second time so I'm just on the fence about whether I should go to the ER or not

Personally, I wouldn't go to the ER for light pink spotting. Just call your doctor and let them know. Hopefully they can get you in for an ultrasound soon. Most doctors only recommend going to the ER if you are having heavy bleeding and/or severe cramps.

  • Yeah. Luckily I had an OB appt today to go over the results from yesterday and he said he sees these SCH's all the time and in the vast majority of them, they go on to have a healthy pregnancy. I got to see our baby again and see the little heart beating away. He said by the looks of the ultrasound, my body is probably already absorbing the hemorrhage. He still wants me to take it easy for the next few days, which is fine since I am a teacher and am on break. I feel less anxiety now and can hopefully relax a little.

  • I'm not sure who I'm writing to, but I just need to write. Had my first ultrasound a week ago tomorrow...no heartbeat, but OB said this was normal since I looked to only be 5w3d. I had a TV ultrasound, so my OB told me I could spot/bleed following the procedure. I was fine until Friday evening when I had red blood on my underwear. It continued throughout the weekend with varying colors and intensity. I called the OB on call (which turned out to be my doc) and she told me to monitor and come in Monday for a blood draw to test my hcg. They called this morning and said my hcg levels were good with how far along I am. But, that I'll need to have another draw tomorrow morning to see if my levels are going up or down. This seems like it should be good news, but I am terrified and so tired of waiting, waiting, waiting. I'm trying not to stress out, but it's hard. I haven't had many symptoms to begin with, so that makes my paranoia that much stronger. Thanks to anyone for listening
  • I am 7 weeks. Went to the ob/gyn 4-5 hrs ago and just noticed dark brown blood all over my underwear. Although he told me i may have some spotting i freaked out and feel scared as prior to my appt i had no bleeding or spotting. Im guessing its normal just so easy to get worried. Dont have an ultrasound scheduled yet. :-S
  • I've been hesitant to post on here because I suppose it makes it more real, but if my comments help anybody else, it would be selfish not to.
I started spotting dark brown on Christmas. Merry freaking Christmas, right? I called my OB the following morning, and she said, "unless you're experiencing severe cramping, or filling a pad in under an hour, you just need to wait it out." Great.
Fast forward to Saturday (12/27) evening. I was cramping pretty severely, and the spotting had increased (definitely not to the point of filling a pad in under an hour...or even in 24 hours for that matter), and the blood had turned bright red. I freaked, and decided to go to the ER. I was convinced I was miscarrying. So, when the ultrasound tech showed my H and I the flicker of a heartbeat, we were beyond ecstatic. I was measuring at 7 weeks 4 days (about 4 days behind what we had thought) with a heartbeat of 150 BPM. The ultrasound tech (even though he wasn't supposed to) told us that he believed I had a subchorionic hemorrhage. The ER doc disagreed, saying it was a small tear at the implantation site.
The following Monday (12/29), I had a follow up with my OB. She told me that she also believed I had a subchorionic hemorrhage, and that it would take about three weeks to resolve itself. She also told me that women who have bleeding in their first trimester have a 50/50 chance of miscarriage. BUT since I had seen the heartbeat, my chances of miscarriage fell to about 30%. I'm holding onto that statistic, and praying that I'm in the 70% of women who go on to have healthy pregnancies.
Since yesterday, my bleeding has increased, and often contains clots (two of them being about the size of a quarter). It's unnerving and scary, and it sucks, but I'm staying hopeful.
My OB is also monitoring my HCG levels, and I had my blood drawn on Saturday and Monday. I will have another draw tomorrow, then, a follow up U/S on Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed, and my prayers constant as I wait this out. I know a few others here have SCH's. FX that we all pull through, and have beautiful, healthy babies come August!
  • Fxfy @socal_whitney‌. I had a subchorionic with my dd. I had red blood once in the first tri but it stopped and then i had some massive bleeding right around 13 weeks that landed me in the ER. It is so scary, i do know that. Most of them resolve according to my past research. I will be thinking of you and hoping that this resolves for you soon.

  • Ok so on 12/8 I came down with bronchitis. I was running a fever of 104. I was suppose to start my period the following day, but it didn't come. Usually I'm a day or two late, but because I was sick, I worried if it would come at all. Aunt flow (or what I thought was her) showed up 12/10. I would say it was my typical normal period. About a week after my period ended, I started spotting and light cramping. Really light. That probably lasted for about 5 days.

During this time I was feeling some pregnancy symptoms. So Christmas Eve I took a test and it came out positive. I took four more and got the same results. I took that digital one that tells you approximately how far along you are and it said I was about 5 weeks. If that is correct, then the period I thought was a period wasn't? Then what was that second week of bleeding? My fiancé and I did have sex right before the second bout of bleeding, was that the cause of it?

Every now and then I will wipe and see a little pink. But nothing that winds up on my panties. All of this is so weird and foreign to me.
  • Thanks, @nbalkin‌! It's always reassuring to hear positive outcomes.
  • After about a week of being bleeding free, the spotting returned this afternoon. I'm 9w2d. I will call my OB's nurse in the morning to let them know.

  • I'm officially out. My bleeding got quite a bit heavier with more clots over the weekend and I had maybe an hour of very minimal cramping but I just knew it was over. OB confirmed today with a TV ultrasound. I'm so happy for those of you who had good outcomes and wish you all a happy, healthy pregnancy. For those of you still spotting/bleeding, hang in there! I hope you all get great news very soon!

  • I'm bleeding much more heavily today, since yesterday evening. No clots or tissue, just pink blood. The pink means it's diluted, but I would definitely call it bleeding, not spotting. I've had spotting or bleeding more days than I haven't. I'm really starting to think I may have an SCH with this because I've never had such prolonged bleeding while still having my betas go up normally. That or it's ectopic. Hopefully my ultrasound on Friday will show a little bean with a heartbeat, but I have a strong feeling that I'm not going to get good news.

@Cgoode517‌  I'm so sorry for your loss.

@SeaParrot FX for your appointment Friday.

socal_whitney  I went through a similar situation right before Christmas. Its funny my OB threw some stats at me too. He said that 1 in 3 pregnancies have some sort of bleeding-- which is not always a cause of concern. He also said that there is a 90% survival rate when a heartbeat is detected. When I started spotting again I just closed my eyes and replayed that little flicker we saw on the screen over and over again.

  • @socal_whitney‌ i am in the exact same boat as you. Began bleeding Xmas eve. Went to Dr Monday saw hb of 160 measured 7w5d but bleeding and clots picked up after that appt and last night I had severe cramps and back pain and passed several big tissue clots. I'm pretty sure I m/c bc what I saw in the toilet last night is the same as when I m/c in Sept. I'm calling my Dr office when they open and will demand to be seen so I can know for sure. I don't understand how I can have a flawless first pregnancy with no complications and a beautiful baby girl 2 years ago and have such an issue now getting one to stick? How does that happen? What changed? Fx for all of us!
  • I am 6+6 today. I have had spotting since a week before my missed period. At 4 wks I had levels drawn and then they doubled in 48hrs. Which is great! At 6 weeks I had tissue like discharge for 2 days left behind in the toilet. A day later I had US which showed a good heartbeat and a correct size fetus. However the dr called yesterday and said that it was noticed that the gestational sack is measuring big which sometimes can indicate that a misscarriage will occur... Fingers crossed for me ladies!!!
  • I haven't posted much after I intro'd because I was waiting for a heartbeat but I am currently going through this now so I thought I'd share.
I am 5w5d with an FET pregnancy. I've had red bleeding and cramps as well as passing 2 good size clots. The first time it happened was Friday and I went to the ER. My betas were amazing and they saw the sac. The bleeding stopped that day.
Yesterday I started bleeding red again and filled a pad. I went to my RE who did an u/s and saw the yolk sac and possibly start of fetal pole. She found the bleeding but doesn't know what's causing it. My beta again came back high. My progesterone is in normal range but on low side to me. She upped my dosage. I go back Friday for another u/s and blood draw.
The RE is very optimistic that it's just bleeding and says the pregnancy is progressing beautifully.
My wife and I are a ball of nerves right now.
Sorry for all those who are going through this too. It feels like such uncertain times right now.
  • This is absolutely killing me! I haven't spotted in about a week except for the pink streak I saw when I wiped after sex. The previous bleeding and spotting is still on my mind. I have no major pregnancy symptoms. I just wanna know for sure if there is a baby in me or not.

I woke up this morning feeling some light cramping/full feeling and I have some vaginal discharge, but no bleeding. It's not serious enough for me to go to the ER. But I can't help but feeling like maybe this isn't right. It doesn't help that this is my very first pregnancy, so I have no idea what to expect from my body.
  • @Cgoode517‌, I'm so sorry for your loss.
@TessyMessy‌, I'm focusing on that little flicker too. My hopes are high, and I'm just trying to stay positive. FX for us, yeah?
I'm so sorry for your loss, @JMB32‌. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hoping for good news for everyone else experiencing spotting right now. Thinking about all of you!

Last week I encountered slight pink on my toilet paper after a bm. Then nothing for 2 days so I was relieved. For 3 days now, I see pink every time I pee! Worse in morning. None in the afternoon and in the evening, pink again. Can't even make an appointment with my gyn/ob until they finish moving next week. My fiance is freaking out more than me. This is his first child! Trying to hold it together. [-O<
  • Did you find out anything?
  • Fxfy @ElleStaxx‌ that the spotting stops for you.

Shit I am here now too. I Am 5w5d. i went for a really long walk and used a porta-potty to pee, gasped to see pinkish blood. 15 min later peeked down there and it was now red. I called the Dr (my RE) and spoke to the nurse. She said if there is heavy bleeding and painful cramping to go to ER. I am not having cramps but it does feel like I have my period, in that the actual membrane of the vagina feels achy. Im using a pad. It isn't more than some blood when I wipe plus a bit spitting on the pad.
I have to wait until Friday morning for our ultrasound and now am in a world of hell waiting. Nurse also said to rest so I'm just lying on the couch now. Happy New Year's Eve. Ugh.

  • @Karlamo‌ I'm thinking of you and @Mamosey. Glad to hear your RE thinks you are progressing great!

I'm sorry there are so many of us stuck in the bleeding limbo. I started back up again last night. My next US is next Thursday.

  • @TessyMessy‌, thanks. It's been a very emotional week for us. The bleeding has stopped and I go back Friday for blood work and u/s. M/S is rearing her ugly head all day and I couldn't be happier.
I'm so sorry you're bleeding again. It's maddening. Are you limiting how much you pick up LO? My RE didn't want me lifting R. Try telling that to a 10 month old with separation anxiety.
  • @Karlamo My doctor didn't see it was necessary for any restrictions when we were there last week. I was more concerned about continuing nursing and he said there was no reason to stop if we aren't ready. He just kept saying that there isn't much I can do wrong at this point. You would think that would make me feel better....
I hope you have a great appointment on Friday keep us posted!!

  • I am 5 weeks 3 days and I have been having a bit of clear discharge but I noticed little brown specks in it. It is barely noticeable but I don't feel like it's normal. I have had 1 ectopic pregnancy and 1 miscarriage so everything seems to be freaking me out. Also I have a dull annoying feeling on left side that is fairly constant throughout the day. Any advice??
  • Update: Thanks for your prayers! The spotting has stopped, just a teeny bit of brown when I wipe. All in all it was red blood just enough for some spotting on te pad and bright red when I wiped for about 4 hours. I did a have a couple of sharp pang cramps in vaginal area (different from the ovary twinges). Plan to stay bedridden today though. Will update tomorrow after US. 5w 6d.

  • I'm 5w3d and noticed a lot of dark brown spotting when I went to restroom last night and then a small amount this morning. I'm also having slight cramps like period is starting soon but trying to wait it out until the doctor is in tomorrow since everyone is out today. Hoping the cramping doesn't get worse or I'll head to the urgent care center
  • I guess I go here now too.

I just got home from the gym, and when I went to the bathroom, there was blood on my underwear and I'm definitely still bleeding. It's not an excessive amount, and I don't have any cramps, but honestly, I'm not all that hopeful at this point. It's way more than spotting.

I considered heading to the hospital to hopefully get an u/s tonight, but I'll wait to call my OB tomorrow. It's going to be a rough night.
