I tried 2 separate hand print projects. Both were disasters that ended with a sobbing toddler. I'm sad that we don't have fun ornaments for the grandparents, but I guess I'll just do a photo ornament instead.

@megsw85‌ kind of, but we don't ever go by you. We are about 1.5 ish hours north in Cold Lake. If we had a little more time heading home then I would totally convince Tyson to go down the Marwayne way and go home by Lloyd.

Around 3pm DH said he was too sick to go to our friends' Christmas party tonight so I canceled the babysitters (KJ's godparents) and ran an errand with KJ. When we got back he was dressed and ready to go. I was pissed. I hadn't told him I was canceling the babysitters and he didn't tell me he changed his mind. I'm tired but we don't get nights out together often so I'm disappointed we got our wires crossed today. So I'm home and he's out. Going to go to bed early. Night night.

MIL made it this afternoon. Did a test run of how she needs to get Rian to and from school and gymnastics just incase things happen before I can show her on Monday. I literally could feel stress leave my body when she pulled into my driveway, just knowing that I have someone to be here for my kiddos when I go into labor makes me feel so much better.

She immediately asked what she could do to help around the house and I told her to just keep the kids out of my hair so I could do some chores in peace. It was GLORIOUS!!!!!

Tom is Rians competition and I'm so excited to see her compete. She finally got the hang of her round off back hand spring and she gets to add it to her floor routine tom! I haven't seen her do it yet and I'm freaking stoked.

FIL and step MIL made it to Florence SC tonight and will be here sometime around 3/4 tom.

And yes Brantley is still baking

Ha! @mcbush these smoking hot jammies are from 1995. I got them as a Christmas gift when I was 15, and it was my first thing from Victoria's Secret. Leave it to my parents to find the least sexy thing in the store.
The buttons were always too small for the holes and it never stays buttoned so I always wear a shirt underneath. Because I'm sure DH would rather me be nice and warm instead of a hint of skin peeping out from the floral waffle knit.
But they are sooooooo comfy! Me wearing them pregnant is even more hilarious.

I would love to talk DH into it, but somehow I feel my "I need to try on my baby jammies pregnant for my internet friends" reason for having another kid might now hold the weight it should.
I'm oddly smaller now than I was in my teens and early 20s. I had a whole lot if baby weight, as in I was a pudgy baby myself for a really, really long time! The pjs are perfect maternity wear since the buttons don't work. It looks like the baby split open the front like hulk!

Though properly vaccinated, I got the mumps as a child. It SUCKED. There is about a one in a million chance. Though that doesn't explain all those hockey players... And no one in my family contracted it from me.....

@LimaBeanMOM‌ I had the baby with me the entire time I was in the hospital last time. My husband isn't sleeping over this time either. I would just encourage you to ask a nurse to help you with nursing over night and use the LC's as much as possible while you are there.

@LimaBeanMOM‌ - I called an LC just about every time I needed to nurse during the time I was there. I was very nervous about latching and it wasn't super easy at first but it got easier after a few days. You'll be just fine. Practice makes perfect!

Try reaching out to your local La Leche League. You will get support from them and hopefully some recommendations for LCs of you need it. My local BRU even has LC contacts so try them too.

Downside of LO being born on a Sunday that there wasn't a LC on staff until Monday. I had to wait until day 2 to get a lactation consultant in. LO was so sleepy and didn't really want to eat much at all the first day, so that was super concerning for us. I hand expressed and finger fed LO at the nurse's suggestion, so that tided LO over until we could see a LC.

And I definitely had LO in the room with me the whole time. That's pretty standard these days unless you request otherwise, as far as I know. I couldn't imagine not having LO with me!

I had my first baby in one hospital and second in another so my experiences were a bit different. With my first the LCs in hospital were awesome, and they gave me their cards and I called them when I was home for a few weeks after. With my second I would have probably had to find someone on my own, and I would have used laleche if I needed help. I had their chapter and contact info ready if I needed it.
With G he slept in the room the whole time on my chest and in my bed. With Lo he went to the nursery when I slept because DH wasn't there with me and they didn't allow the baby to fall asleep in bed with you (boo!) He actually slept all night the first night without wanting to nurse so I got a nice break after a 46 hour labor!

Grayson was in the room with us too. They encouraged it actually. The only long period of time he wasn't in the room was for about 2 hours the night he was born when they did all theirs tests and stuff.

LO fell asleep in the car on the way home from the GTG and is still sleeping! He definitely wore himself out wandering around the Children's Museum.

I apologize for disappearing at the end @lioness13 - we went for a diaper change and then couldn't find you when we got out again.

I only got one picture of LO and any of the other kiddos - @numbers08's. LO was a bit shy and didn't really play with the others too much. Despite that, we had a good time!

What the what?! I feel like those nurses maybe shouldn't be in post partum if they feel bothered with that. My nurses in both hospitals were total peaches and never made me feel like a bother at all! Why do I feel like you are in the Albany area... are you? I only ask because I delivered my first there and know the hospitals and their LCs pretty well.

@limabeanmom if you feel like you are being a bother to a nurse, ask for another nurse right away. I was told you can ask to be assigned to someone else under your patient's rights or something like that. I really, really doubt most nurses would make you feel that way, but you should go to the hospital with the mindset that if YOU aren't happy with your care, you have the power to change it. I feel like being mentally ready for birth and after care makes me less of an emotional wreck. I felt like a disaster after G, but after Lo things went so much smoother just from having experience with the whole process before, so I am hoping that at least helps you get your head around things in advance!

Just keep saying, "I have the power!" out loud whenever you need a boost. People won't think you are crazy at all

The ATL GTG was a success! Our little ones are not quite at the stage of acknowledging each other and playing together but I think they had a nice time exploring the toys at the children's museum. Z was the perfect gentleman, A was a sweet diva and N is a budding pianist. My KJ was the toy hog

A lot of people have already answered your questions, but I'll chime in too. DH didn't stay overnight with me either time. For B, I was so hyped up that I barely slept at all during my two night stay- nothing to do with feeding issues or the baby at all- I just couldn't sleep! He stayed in the room with me the whole time. With N- I learned my lesson and sent her to the nursery in the middle of the night so I could sleep a little. I sent her right after she ate, and told the nurse to bring her back when she woke up to eat- that bought me a couple hours. I honestly didn't use a LC at all- maybe FFC? But my mom was very pro bf and helped me a lot in the beginning. Friends of mine used our local la leche chapter and the hospital also offered access to LCs that held regular meetings and would come to your house if needed. Does your hospital offer something like that?

@42butterflies that sounds like my first hospital, in Albany. They were one of only a handful of "baby friendly hospitals" in the country because they had things like in room baby care and 24/7 LC services for 2 years after delivery. I called them at 3am once and she talked with me for almost an hour. They also let G sleep on my chest in bed with me for the entire 5 days I was there. It was such a great place to deliver! I had a wonderful experience at Brigham and Women's, but it wasn't as earthy crunchy mama baby as my first hospital, which is hard to beat.

That sucks! Have you tried calling any shelters? I just donated a bunch of lightly used stuff to a women's shelter.

@34blondie‌ I am!!!! Brantley is allowed to arrive anytime he pleases now. Would be nice if he would hold out until after my haircut/pedi/eyebrow wax I have planned tom afternoon but it wouldn't be the end of the world if didn't make it to my appts.

My FIL and stepMIL arrived safely today around 3 and the amount of stress I have been carrying around for months is literally gone! It of course left in the fashion of a head ache but the relief is amazing!

Also last night my MIL took care of Jameson when he woke up in the middle of the night and this morning when he woke up. I haven't had that luxury in months and it was glorious! Jameson is also just loving having his meme, memaw and Pawpi here.

Oh yeah and Rian took 3rd place on bar and beam at today's competition. We all went out for a celebratory dinner and had a great time.

I won't be on much during the day but will check in and catch up on things every night here, unless I'm in labor then I'll be here posting updates!
