@LimaBeanMOM best thing I've heard on the topic of formula.... Formula is 100%, breast milk is 110% so no matter what you choose for your baby they are always getting at least 100%. Please don't be upset that B got formula, he was still getting 100% and that's what matters.
My sister went home today. The outfit she chose to bring her baby home in was the one I got her. Proud sister/auntie moment. I think I'm coming around to it all, still have my moments though. Anyways I'll AW a little and here is KM home from the hospital.
Lol @Pitchslap I just can't stand seeing her name spelled out! I'm sticking with initials from now on anytime it needs to be written down. Thankfully I don't mind saying her name out loud
Every time I see @riansmommie is the most recent poster, I expect a play-by-play of labor. I hope nothing starts before your family gets there, though!
@vitafelix keep your fingers crossed that Brantley stays put until Sunday evening at the absolute earliest!!! I really don't want to miss Rians competition. As I promised before I will start a new thread when it's go time and y'all will get live coverage from my labor room
A friend of mine was talking to me and asked me about how long my h has been gone for and when he comes home. I told her he's been gone for around 3 weeks and will be home in 2 weeks.
Her response was "oh you poor thing" she made me feel like I was asking for sympathy or something. When I said well it's not as bad as some of my friends that are Military wives she shut up pretty quick.
I don't know your friend's tone but I don't think anyone sees you as asking for sympathy at all. I think your friend was just trying to empathize with your situation. I think it sucks for you (and military wives) to have to take care of your kids alone for weeks/months/years. And you have a sick kid which is even harder. I see you as a strong mother and awesome bed breaking wife
@megsw85 if you don't have any leftover Permanent stamps from before the price hike, it's going to cost a bit. Everywhere in canada is the same, $1.00 per letter. No clue about the states. I stockpiled permanent stamps a few years ago when they were still 50-some cents. I should have enough to last through next christmas
LO and I were going through "Moo, Baa, La la la" on the drive home tonight, and going through another animal sounds book that he has ... then I asked him what Mama said and he replied with "woof woof". Sure LO.
I had a chicken souvlaki salad for lunch today at a mediterranean restaurant and my mom said it stunk like garlic but I ate it anyways. My husband came home from work and said I smelled so bad and won't get near me. (The garlic is coming out of my pores I guess) I'm mortified because when I was running errands I ran into a bunch of people I know and was chatting with them. They probably think I have hygiene issues now.
I'm way too excited that DH texted me he will be at work super late. I've been wanting to watch the red tent, but he thinks it is crap. Now I can watch my crap in piece.
I started it, have about an hour left...
It's soo good!!
This makes me so sad that I don't have cable and can't watch! It looked good!
I have only been with M all week because B has been sick with a 101ish fever. Yesterday I changed his diaper for the first time since M was born and it really hit me how big he is and how much he's grown. He weighs 4x as much as M! In less than 18 months! His thighs are almost as big as her torso. He's also much, much easier to dress. After you catch him, at least.
My H on a whim decided he was going to go in to work late... Great... Oh yeah.. Except your wife has a schedule to follow in the morning that you are now crapping all over!!! I swear he thinks the days I'm home are just free for alls around here!
@34blondie please say something! Some suggested wording: A gate-checked car seat in only a garbage bag is considered as though it has been in a car crash. There can be non-visible damage that can cause the seat to fail in a crash. The safest option is to check the car seat in a carboard box, preferably the one it came it, if not, something of a similar size. Another option is to have someone at the other end meet you with a car seat then you don't need to worry about checking your car seat at all!
I'm cringing at a post on a momma FB site. A momma is traveling with a lap baby and asked about the carseat. All the advice is to check as baggage or gate check and the best packing advice given is just to use two heavy duty trash bags. I need to say something!
At least she's covering it. Just kidding. For real though, whenever we travel I see most car seats come out on the baggage claim with nothing on them- like the baggage claim thing is attached right to the car seat. I put mine in britax car seat cover thingys and bubble wrap it before it goes in there. I figure it's better than how it came packaged when I bought it since it only came in a cardboard box and you never know how shippers handle the car seats either.
I think I deactivated my old PSNLS account and opened a new account too fast. TB never deleted my old posts, they just changed the posts to my new name. I was patiently waiting to see if they would remove the posts later and it did not happen.
I'm going to deactivate and wait a couple days. See you ladies in a couple days!
DS shared his cold with me I think. Took nyquil last night and I still managed to do the middle of the night wake up. DH asked me what time DS woke up and then apologized for not hearing him.
I'm sorry you got his cold! Grayson gave me his cold and now Alex has it. I took nyquil the night before last but I had a very hard time getting up yesterday morning. I don't think I'll be taking nyquil unless I have the following day off lol my head feels like it's about to explode I hope you get to feeling better soon!
I love shopping for sweaters from urban outfitters, but why the eff are all these models wearing them with shorts?? I get that all these models are from Cali, but how's about styling these products for the rest of the country? Yes, that over sized sweater looks awesome with those cut offs, but get real. I always have to imagine what they would look like with pants/leggings.
My DH is sick. I'm taking airborne a few times a day. It normally helps my body fight whatever is trying to take over so I don't get sick. His coughs are so annoying. I want to throat punch him every time he coughs. And I told him he better not kiss my baby!
Thanks, @momofcatan. I hope that's what it is. His fever finally broke this morning. I'm guessing that when DH took him to urgent care on Tuesday night, he just happened to also have an ear infection.
All he has is a runny nose and he's extremely lethargic. It went down to 98 at 10 am today but shot up to 102.5 at 4. I might have to call the on call doc if it's still this high. He's been eating a little bit all day but not huge meals.
