What makes it even worse is everyone I see in real life had started the, oh you haven't had that baby yet? You need to walk, you need to have sex, blah blah. No people, what I need to do is let my baby stay put until she is ready! I'm only 39 weeks, leave me alone!
I think it's so weird when people tell me (or any pregnant woman) to have sex. First of all, I'm single-so I don't know if they hope for me to pick someone up at the bar or how they expect me to go about that one. Second of all, why are you thinking about my sex life? Maybe I AM having lots of sex!
This is also super weird to me. I just don't understand inquiring about the current state of another woman's vagina and cervix. It is so rude and personal.
I was more than a little upfront about my feelings on this subject when I was pregnant with my first. My last trimester was hell and I had no problem getting snippy with people. I was on bedrest so people would call me or text me constantly to ask my status. I turned it into a form of entertainment and started telling people that I had the baby already and just didn't like them enough to bother to inform them. Or that I was 10cm dilated but decided not to have the baby after all. Or I simply asked if they wanted to check my cervix since they absolutely had to know.
For some strange reason, family and friends really didn't ask me too many annoying questions at the end of my second and now third pregnancy. Lol
I love chocolate covered lays, best invention ever.
I got told by someone "you're having a boy aren't you? I know you are because you're so low...."
My response was "no, it could be due to the fact that I have dropped because lo is preparing for birth. I carried high earlier in pregnancy and everyone thought I was having a girl."
Okay, the itching in my hands and feet is so bad now that I'm about to cry. Hydrocortisone does nothing. Oatmeal bath does nothing. Both the OB I saw last week and the hospital were dismissive of it this week, but... I'm going to mention it to my own OB on Monday and see if he has any more suggestions. It's probably just something I'm stuck with now until LO arrives, but ARGH, it's so frustrating!
@misskilljoy - am I crazy or isn't itchy palms and feet a symptom of HELLP or one of those crazy pregnancy conditions? Not to be all alarmist, just want you to be okay.

Have you tried the aloe lotion with lidocaine in it (the sunburn soothing lime green kind)? It is a mild topical anesthetic. My OB told me it was safe to use a little bit when I had a PUPPS rash during my first pregnancy. It was the only thing that kept me from shredding my skin.

Try coconut oil? It's my miracle cure for everything.
@misskilljoy I would definitely see if your dr can rx some cream if they think it's eczema. My daughter has issues with her hands in the winter and goes from itchy to burning. Hope it improves soon!
@misskilljoy have you tried that pink stuff they used to put on for chicken pox, I can't for the life of me remember the name of it, my brain has shut down for the evening, I think it's camomile lotion
I covered dd1 in that this summer when she got poison ivy. Seemed to help a lot and she thought the pink polka dots were fun
@misskilljoy May I suggest aquaphor or baby aquaphor? My cousin's little guy just started developing eczema from the weather and his doc said aquaphor would definitely ease his symptoms. I use it every winter because I work in a kitchen and my hands crack like crazy from washing them so often. The only thing is that it is kind of expensive and you get slightly greasy until it dries all the way. But it definitely helps and heals my hands!

Calomine, perhaps? Definitely my goto when I accidentally run into patch of poison ivy.
If your skin is dry, don't use calomine! As a teen I had itchy skin and thought I would use it because hey I used it on hives and the itching stopped. Well it turned out I had dry skin and that stuff dries your skin out more and makes the itching ten times worse.

@misskilljoy - there is a lotion for itchy skin and eczema called Sarna that may help. My uncle is a dermatologist and gave me some samples so I'm not sure if it is RX or over the counter, but you may want to look in to it. I have the craziest sensitive skin and sometimes have itchy reactions (to life in general) and it really helps. You should ask your OB before using it while pregnant, though, bc it is a topical analgesic of some sort. I hope it gets better - I understand the misery of itchy-burny skin and it is fucking miserable.
@misskilljoy, I used to have a problem with dry itchy limbs not pregnant. I put vasoline and socks on my feet and vasoline and gloves on my hands to sleep through the night. It was also a hassle to deal with, but it definitely helped moisturize and the itching stopped. Hope something helps!
I just got home from a charity event we put on every year called The Average Joe Strip Show. Yep, exactly what it sounds. A bunch of guys from the local bars put on a strip show and all the money (from the tickets and the tips) go to a charity. It is a complete shit show. I was dancing and having a great time and thought "wow, I can't believe I'm going to make it out until bar close tonight!" because it felt so late, looked at the clock, it wasn't even 10:30 pm yet. Currently home, showered, and in bed. Being 38+ weeks pregnant, the guys really felt the need to give me and the belly some love.. One of the guys had whip cream and ice cream-a shower was definitely needed when I got home. Haven't gotten that much action since my BFP!
@misskilljoy I was totally about to post about itchy hands and feet. Also tenderness around the ankles and hands/wrists... I tried an Epsom salt bath for that and it didn't work.
It's nothing major, just a little sore; but then again what isn't these days. :P
Hope your itching stops though!! I personally use extra strength gold bond lotion for the menthol in it, helps me sleep.
I am at the point where I only click on a thread if I recognize who started it. I had no idea the number of people who would come out of nowhere right before delivery.
Agreed. And I basically lurk and lovetit these days anyway... But, I'll tell ya, skipping posts makes me miss tons of the drama... for better or worse, I guess.
@misskilljoy Before you apply your cream of choice, ice your hands and feet or run them under the coldest water you can stand.
@katylou91 Someone mentioned getting Santa pics to me, too and I thought, "I'm reluctant to take the baby to family's house on Xmas day, and I'm gonna take the baby to the mall to some germ ridden Santa?"
Had my mom visit for the holiday and weekend. So I will try to get caught up. LO seems to get upset when I stand or walk to the point of painful head banging or BH.
He and I are most comfortable when I am laying down.
Going shopping for a new mattress at 36 weeks pregnant - dumb.
1- everything is comfortable, regardless of price
2- it's far too difficult to get in and out of bed, especially in a public place
After trying two, I just beached myself on a leather sofa and told DH to pick whatever one he wants. I may regret this in 4 weeks.
Yay for a new mattress!
We bought a new mattress and bed on Monday. I agree that everything was comfortable. It gets delivered on Wednesday. Hopefully I'll still like it when I'm not pregnant.....
My boys are watching Frozen for the second time today.
In my defense, I nearly killed myself cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, grocery shopping, and doing laundry. My feet have their own heart beat and my pelvis is aching so bad I can't chase them around.

@Eora3 I'm right there with you. My feet look like they belong on an elephant and I've been having cramps all day. I'm a FTM but if I had kids, they'd be babysat by Anna and Elsa all day, too.

Thanks lady! This baby is coming on Wednesday (scheduled c-section) and I have been freaking out about all the housework that I want to have done before I go to the hospital. My DH has been totally worthless so nothing was getting done. I just needed a little time today without tiny agents of chaos following me around tearing up the house. Anna and Elsa to the rescue!!

Although I may or may not be eating Flipz (chocolate covered pretzels) right now ....

Mr. CandE liked it as well.
First couple of diaper changes should be darker in color, but yeah, pretty much.
People are going to freak about that too.
