  • Need to make 2 cheesecakes for work. I need 2 spring form pans. Of a set of 3 I can only find the small one. The one I don't need! X(
  • DH just passive aggressively complained that the house was a mess and he didn't really want to spend his day off cleaning. Then he said he wished the house was less messy when he gets home. Wtf dude? You've been home with DS the past two evenings. How much cleaning did you get done? I'm so pissed. So much for a nice day together decorating for Christmas.
  • Supposed to have left work by now so DH, LO and the rest of the zoo can head to MI for the holiday. Instead, I'm waiting for someone to send me a file so I can complete a report that was supposed to be done an hour ago...

Don't mess with my vacation time co-worker, I will not forgive that!

It's snowing! 8-> I kind of like it when I have no where to be.
I love snow when I get to stay home! Driving with crazy people is no fun.
Where I live the world shuts down when we have flurries on the horizon.  It's kind of funny.  Except for the year we got a foot of snow that didn't melt off (the city was not prepared to clear it properly) and we were out of school for two straight weeks...  I'm a little concerned about what might happen this year, since we've already had snow threats.
  • So RTT, if you found a cute little Elf/Santa/Christmas hat for LO to wear in pictures, where did you get yours?

I'm looking for a cute one for LO for pictures for our Christmas card.
  • Another baby wearing story...but no guns involved!! I wear C when I vacuum. He loves it. I'm a slow vacuumer...as I take my time and get every square inch of carpet, and I love how our vacuum makes the carpet look brand new each time. It's a gentle ride for him. He laughs when we pass by the mirror in our entryway. I could seriously make a day of popping in and out of the mirror just to see him giggle at himself. Alright...back to cleaning!
This is the only way I can vaccuum!  Otherwise DS chases the vacuum, and if he gets too close he freaks out.  So, wearing it is!

  • Does anyone ever order from Zulily? What's shipping time like?
I haven't, but I've heard it takes ages. Zulily puts in the order to the manufacturer after they collect all the orders on their site, so it's like double the wait. I've been told 4 weeks-ish? I looked into when I thought about buying a wrap from them. I'm not sure if it's any faster for other products.
I have been super lucky bc I have gotten most things in a couple of weeks.  I have heard it can take a long time, so if it's for a gift you may not get it by Christmas.
I will NEVER again order from Zulily.  It took 3 months and several phone calls to get the item I ordered.  When it arrived, it looked like it had been packed, opened, repacked, and beaten to death.
  • DH wanted to hang out while I did my hair this morning...which apparently means duvet and video games in the tub. Bahaha
    This is completely normal.  Totally.

  • DH is flying out to Nevada this weekend to look at houses and hopefully buy one.  I've made a list of 16, but just heard from the realtor that six of them have contracts pending.   :(  Oh well, ten should be fine, right?

The red velvet one sounds sooooo good.

It only took 7 months to realize the stroller seat can 'sit up' for strolls :)  Thanksgiving vacation!
Bahaha! Poor kiddo, all that time staring up at the sky. ;)
We have one of those jogging strollers, so LO has always gone out in it in the carrier (which is not very often).  Mostly he goes out in the Boba carrier so he's upright.  I kept thinking surely the stroller reclines... so today I pushed on it, and it did!  Hooray for experimenting!
  • mmm cheesecake sounds so good!  Once DH gets home I'm going to finish up the pumpkin pie and candied bacon.  I got everything else on my cooking list done, so now it's on to cleaning!

  • Today has reminded me why I work. Oi, I love you, kid, but you need to not be on me 24/7. Also, going down for a nap within 10 min for the babysitters but fighting naptime for 45 min for me is not cool, baby, not cool.

  • him and me is fine as I learned it.  If you can remove the other person and it still sound correct, you are good.  I always remember it as I before the verb, and me after.
  • While on vacation, my DH shot a deer (legally). He's so proud of himself but dude... you shot it while sitting on the porch. With a rifle. Not very sporting.
Anyway, now we have some deer meat we'll be taking home. What do I do with it?

Technically it should be "he and I". If the verb is some form of "to be," you use the subjective pronoun (I, we, she, he, they) not objective (me, us, her, him, them). The verb to be doesn't ever take an object.

It's why "this is she" is correct and not "this is her" when you answer someone asking for you on the phone.

It's such a common error that the objective pronouns usually sound right, and it's not something I'd sweat outside of formal writing.

Between catholic elementary school and studying Latin in high school, I know more grammar than is probably healthy for me. I actually make mistakes on purpose in informal writing just so I sound normal, but my brain is always screaming - split infinitives! Wrong case! Omg you just ended that phrase with a preposition nooooooooooooooo!

FFWC - diagraming sentences was fun.

My head might start spinning. Ha! But I do say "this is she" on the phone - cause my mama taught me well. I couldn't have told you the grammatical reasoning behind it other than it sounded more correct than "this is her."
I say "This is she" too. My friends mock me for it - glad I'm not the only one!

And 'fishes' is also now technically correct

Some days my inlaws just make me roll my eyes. They are super nice but SO disorganized. I needed to hit Meijers for a few last-minute Thanksgiving things but didn't want to deal with a cranky DD in a super busy store.
So I called FIL and asked if they could watch her while I ran to Meijers. (They live 5 min from me, 10 min from the store). I dropped her off, told them she had just eaten etc, and headed out.
3 min down the road, MIL calls me, "Yeah, I didn't know you were dropping her off, I thought you were just gonna hang out here. Do you care if we take her to Menards?"
I should have just brought her with me, especially since I ended up getting done at the store super fast and had to wait at their house for 15-20ish min for them to bring DD home :-w

I may or may not have eaten half a pizza :-bd

I literally can't eat pizza in front of friends anymore because four slices is my minimum lol.
I feel the same way about eating it in front of DH...lol
  • Just got rear ended on the way home. Seriously people, watch where you are going!  :-w And to top it off she was smoking her cigarette the whole time we exchanged info, so now I smell like cigarette smoke. Thankfully it was super minor and my car is barely dinged, plus the kiddos weren't with me.

  • So convertible carseats... have those been discussed?  Can anyone link me?  Search is being dumb and we're trying to figure out which one to buy with the holiday deals.

I hate it when people think this is the case ALL THE TIME. Like, "She got the best gift for he and I!" Or worse - when people try to make I possessive - "My husband and I's anniversary is tomorrow." :|

Thanks for the tips @mommyofmac‌! Love the pacifier toy clip idea!! My guy does take a binkie so he'll have two strings attached to him lol

Also, to add to what @mommyofmac‌ said, people are super nice and helpful. I flew with Savannah last month and ppl helped carry the stroller down the jet way for me, helped put it on the belt at security, take it off, open it up. If the flight isn't full, I would ask the gate agent if you can be moved to have an extra seat next to you for a bit more space. It made all the difference in the world. Also try to get an aisle seat in case you need to get up. Finally, I made mini diaper bags for the plane that had a disposable changing pad and diaper in a ziplock that way I could just grab that and my wipes without having to lug everything into that small bathroom.
  • I think in our lifetime, proper grammar will just evolve to accept shitty common errors, especially the misuse of "he/she and I." My SIL is an English teacher and misuses them all the time ("come over and eat with DH and I"). Drives me nuts. It seems like even well educated, smart people fuck it up. People think it makes them sound smarter, but...no.

  • I just had a screaming match with DD at 2:30AM. I know she doesn't understand that this week has been horrible, but I'm so frustrated and I just want to sleep and I can't, and haven't yet tonight.

Ugh :( so sorry. I hope your night improved as it went on.
Thanks, @tlp2558‌. She finally went to sleep at 4:30, neither DH or I could get her to calm down and she was so tired. I got maybe 3 hours of sleep, which is better than none at all.
