  Cold and snowy today. We braved the store for groceries (along with everyone else in our town apparently)- every single cart was in use! People, come on, we live in Colorado. It's just a little snow.
  
  And of course we stopped at the liquor store. Sipping a raspberry lambic mixed with a chocolate stout- tastes like a milkshake. Omnomnom!

  Apparently there was an explosion at a house a block away from mine the other morning. The old woman that live there was rescued by her underwear clad 19Yo neighbor, whom the city is now calling a Hero.

  So much wrap talk on here - very jealous. I'm so tempted to try one, because they're so beautiful and would be super comfy to wear, but I'm not sure I can justify it. I have my ergo for active wearing and my ring sling when I want to look pretty, and probably don't need more than that.

  @deidremaria Thanks for asking! My recovery is going really well. The first couple days were rough but by day 3 I was feeling quite a bit better. I'm even off the pain meds! As long as the toddler doesn't hit me in the stomach I feel great!

  I was looking up a recipe so that I could give it out for christmas. It calls for crushed up candy canes. Would those melt in a warm shower and make you sticky? Also, do you think it would be too sharp to be comfortable? I really like the rest of the ingredients. Just wondering if anyone has experience or input.

  Why is it that when DH puts LO to bed, he sleeps all night, but when I do bedtime, it takes 3 fucking hours and LO wakes multiple times? I feel like a failure.

  You're not a failure!! Sometimes I think babies can sense frustration. Dads are all like "hey this is cake" and then they fall asleep. I know I'm like "come on kid, go to sleep already" after i've been walking around and bouncing him for hours. This is my situation anyway.

  @RedDawnsRevenge‌ one of my students told me that hand sanitizer is good for getting sharpie off. He does seem like the kind of kid who would have some experience in that department.
  
  So I'm sitting in the waiting room at the ER for some severe abdominal pain. I feel dumb going in but it was hurting before bed and I made a deal with myself that if I couldn't sleep through the pain I would go in. Two hours later here I am in the waiting room.   Thanks @kseccomb17. Maybe I'm not being as calm as I'd like to think I am. It takes hours of rocking, nursing, bouncing to get him to go to sleep and STAY asleep. That's the key. I also think LO knows that DH doesn't have the boob, so there's no use in waking up to nurse again.

  Well after a pelvic exam and some ultrasounds turns out it's just a bladder infection that I ignored for too long and it got worse and painful. Glad it's nothing serious and annoyed that it took 4ish hours in the ER on a Saturday night to figure this out.

  So after one magical night of 9 1/2 hours of sleep this child has retaliated by going from 2 wakeups a night to 3-5. WTF kid?

  Yeah, wtf kid! Why you no sleep like that every night?? And after a few wake ups I kinda curse our pedis name for suggesting we get him down to one wake up. Um. This kid is an unpredictable sleep turd.
