Is anyone else super excited about Christmas cards coming soon?
I think I have a bit of an irrational love for Christmas cards. I love to put all of them up on our cork board and look at them - I love all the special pictures people take for Christmas cards - I love to see how all the kids have grown each year.
I also love making our Christmas cards each year. Since we just did professional pictures on Sunday I'm anxiously awaiting all of our final pics so I can decide on a card and order it. I'm worried there will be too many awesome pictures to pick from!
I will double recommend the Uppababy Vista for tall people if it's in the budget for them. Not only is the handle adjustable but the back axle is up and out of the way so you don't have to worry about kicking it with long legs.
I have a family member who is 6' 5" and they manage pretty well with it.
For more budget-friendly, I think the cruz also has the adjustable handlebar.
Nothing better than having your son set off the fire panic alarm when you're just trying to take a pee break! Yes this in turn prompted my alarm company calling and the fire department showing up 10 mins later even after I dismissed the alarm as an accident.
Yeah, depending on what alarm company you have, they can't "cancel" a fire alarm once they have already called the fire department. What they do is call the fire department and tell them it was a false alarm and then the fire department makes the decision to go out or not. It's such a pain.

The last time I had an accidental alarm the same thing happened. Only Jameson was an itty bitty, my hubby slept through the whole thing (working nights at the time), and I had to answer to door wrapped in a towel with a towel on my head because it happened while I was taking a shower. That was fun .
@megsw85 I'm joining you in the cold weather commiserations. After I finished my last post on here I looked outside and it was full on blizzarding. Drove to town to drop M off at my girlfriend's and go to my massage, the roads are crazy slick. -3 C. I could really handle 1 more month of fall. Not ready for winter quite yet.
Ugh. Why must my child act like this!!! Kid wakes up a grumpy pissed off mess after his naps! Kid don't you realize you just got some much needed rest and shouldn't be so mad at the world right when you wake up!? Literally cries/pitches fits over everything for the first hour or so after naps.
I'm pissed my manager just sent me an e-mail wording it as though he's reprimanding a 6 year old.
MomofCatan, can you please let me know from the scheduling meeting yesterday what time "job name" was to hit press. I’ve been told paperwork was not out last night… Manager
Yes, I forgot to put out my paperwork, but you were at the meeting and keep 2 months worth of old schedules in your office. So you clearly know what time the job was going hit press.
Then get a mental image of the sales rep I hate literally bowing down at my desk last week because I found a mistake on one of his jobs. And now I'm all warm and happy inside.
@rianamommie DD is like that too sometimes and other times she's totally happy. Usually if she wakes up screaming I leave her for a minute and let her calm down on her own before going to get her. I don't know if it really helps, but I figure when I wake up cranky the last think I want is someone turning on the lights and moving me before I'm ready to get up.
@mcbush lately he has been napping for roughly 1.5-2 hours, this started a few weeks ago. Before that he was only napping 45 mins, but would still act the same way when he woke up.
Tonight might be interesting. Just got a text from SIL, who is watching Lily. Apparently, she hasn't napped ALL DAY. Yep, my kid that takes two 2.5 hour naps a day hasn't had one. She was at MIL/SFIL's house. I told them that I won't take her there all of the time because there is too much going on. She wants to be involved with the 2 dogs and 2 cats and 6 year old BIL. BIL was asleep, but not Lily. Awesome. :-S
Apparently, Lily decided to fall asleep on SIL. So, while I now have to go pick her up at their place, I at least have a toddler with some kind of nap! I say it's a win!
My H has a knack for choosing the easy kid to tend to in the evening. Like if N just wants to snuggle- he is all over that. Meanwhile, I get to chase after an emotional B who seems to be going through some sort of inner turmoil that causes him to flip his shit every 5 seconds. This is bullshit.
Oh. My. Goodness! Someone on the D14 shared in the TMI thread that she pees in an empty milk jug next to her bed because it's too much work to walk downstairs and go. To make matters worse.... Instead of dumping it in her toilet, she dumps it out her bedroom window before her husband wakes up. Gag.me.with.a.fucking.spoon!
I call an emergency meeting of J13 drinkers. Sounds like eveyone could use one. Tyler has been a whiny clingy nightmare. Like dude, it's water, not lava that I'm bathing you with!

@WasNotWas I am in for drinking. We are staying an extra night at the hotel. I need booze after dealing with Travis all day. 3 year olds can just be evil.
They can sense weakness and capitalize!! I've heard 4 is better but I'm sure @ASmallWonder would disagree
If I drink right now, my milk will be good to feed N again in a couple hours right? I forget the drinking/BF rules! And damn... I could use a drink.
A couple hours is probably not the best, actually. It's better to drink while you nurse, you have the longest time before it hits your milk. Honestly, it's worth going and buying the alcohol test strips and drinking a beer or something, test your milk immediately, and hour later, and two hours later. That way you can know how your body metabolizes alcohol
@wasnotwas is more cautious than I am. Who would've guessed?!
Google kellymom and decide what you're comfortable with!
It stems from when I exclusively pumped with bradley. I tested my milk one time when I thought I was fine and it was through the roof! I wish it resulted in him sleeping better...
Muthereff the only thing I'm trying to really do to prep for the marathon is not drink this week. Seeing that it's only Tuesday and I'm pulling my hair out makes me think it's a dumb strategy. Maybe just not Friday and Saturday? Mama needs her sauce.
@subliminalrabbit thank you so much for posting about how to try to stick to one snack a week. I did that this week and right now I would murder some chips and queso/guac/salsa but I only have wheat thins and cream cheese. My pants thank you!
I really wish I was at our mid season coed soccer meeting. Some of the topics of discussion tonight are letting guys tackle girls harder, playing with only 2 girls on the field instead of 3, letting younger men play, oh and a team captain likes to mention how we are racist because our team beats his.
Thanks for all the drinking/BF advice. I should probably get some of those strips... But for tonight, right now I am simultaneously drinking a pumpkin beer and nursing N. I think I can only handle one though--- this is my first drink of any kind since January.
I already feel like I'm falling behind on spam this week, and for no good reason.
*hugs* to those ladies that need them.
And I'm drinking tonight as well ladies. Box wine again.
@kari5186 - I loved The Paradise! I'm working through your other suggestions after finally making it through The Tudors. I'm very sad that it's over though.
Can I brag on myself a little? we went to the local naval station for the air show this past weekend. While we were there I noticed a deaf lady signing she didn't know where to take her (what looked like 4 year old) daughter to go potty. I signed to her where to go. She thanked me and we talked for about 5 minutes (in ASL). She suggested I become certified to teach!! I feel very speshul
I'm in! Red wine for me. N was NONSTOP whining this evening. Seriously through the whole dinner. Even when she was happy she was happy-whining (which wasn't often - it was mostly cry-whining or shriek-whining). I don't know how she does it.
I try to look at the silver lining - every weekend she is so exhausted from daycare that she sleeps til past 10 each morning and takes 2.5-3 hr naps. I guess that's worth the crappy weekday evenings?
@kari5186 - I've already seen Downton Abbey and most definitely the Colin Firth Pride and Prejudice - so we can be friends ;-) (And I am caught up with the current Paradises)
I'll definitely look into Mr Selfridge!
I've currently been trying out "Reign" after it was suggested because I watched The Tudors. *shudders* After watching The Tudors, watching something produced by the CW is like pouring hot wax in my eyes. At the same time, sometimes the tweeny bopper drama is kind of addictive. Which makes me want to pour hot wax in my brain for thinking it.

(I rarely use IG other than to edit my pics and share them on FB)
Problem: can't drag blanket quickly enough
Solution: cry
Problem: can't pull pillow onto couch
Solution: pitch fit
Problem: mom told him no when he tried to grab the lotion bottle
Solution: throw self on floor and scream
Problem: mom won't let HIM pick HER nose
Solution: hit mom in face while screaming
Problem: mom won't let him take pillow from behind her
Solution: head tut mom in stomach. hard.
But if he doesn't get a nap he is a nightmare as well.
Toddler problems.
