  • The competition thing happens here, too, all the time. I thought we were the only ones!! We are snippy at each other, too and I'm so tired of it. I think counseling is in our near future.
  • It's natural for couples to play the "who has it harder" game. The good thing is we all realize that it's happening and can communicate that to our partners and come up with solutions.

This is how I feel too.

  • I think babiators are ugly. They look too small even on a baby's face.

  • DH left to get dinner, decided we needed something "healthier" than Mcdonald so he went to Moe's instead. However he didn't know what I wanted at Moe's so he got me nothing and then got all pissed because I was upset he didn't get me anything.

I'm so mad at him, angrier than I think I ever have been. Don't tell me to eat healthy! I just had a 50 pound weight loss, step back!

My inlaws gave DS some mashed potatoes before I could stop them. We haven't done much in the way of solids yet. He is six months and I know he is fine to have them, but I'm still really upset about it because he is my baby and I wanted to be the first to give him food. They asked if they could basically after they already gave it to him so I didn't get a chance to say no.

Pretty sure DH thinks I'm overreacting but he's being a decent husband and not saying it outloud. I wish he would have said something to his parents though and asked them not to do that. I hate how he feels like he can never tell them no.

ETA I know they are excited to watch DS eat real food but stepping in and giving him some when he hasnt had any yet and not considering that maybe DH and I should be the ones to give him his first bites is wayyy overstepping in my opinion.

  • I'm sorry @Tferr02‌. I would be pissed too. That is no excuse.

The neighborhood kids seem to be playing a rousing game of "Ebola Tag."
There is much running and shouts of "Ahhhhh, I've got ebola!" and "You have ebola now!"

Clearly they do not understand the concept of "too soon."

Where the hell are their parents? That's so inappropriate.

I was in the lunchroom during 3rd grade lunch last week, and the hot topic at the table was Ebola.

I couldn't decide if it was funny or sad.
  • So today we had to take my husbands car in to the shop. It needs a new power steering pump. His car has costed us about $3000 this year to fix with surprise problems. I want to burn the damn thing to the ground.

  • Moms with older kids - what's a good birthday present for a 4 year old girl?

    Frozen anything. Play-Doh. Books!
  • @celticlullaby‌ I like to give toys that require an imagination to use, like pretend play stuff. Or art supplies. None of this electronic toy that makes a sound by pushing a button thing.
  • So what happened to the ability to unsticky the annoying stickies? I can't seem to do it on mobile or on the computer...

Oh, I'm the bad influence who says go for it!
I couldn't resist entirely, so I delivered a gentle smack.  If he doesn't get the point, I will unload.

  • @purespark‌ if you guys need a detour to the Jelly Belly factory and outlets, you know who to call! :)

We are the same though... DH and I were talking about how we need to suck it up and have some fun for ourselves sometimes. We don't do stuff we enjoy anymore, and that needs to change. Ohhhh parenting.
  • Mt 17 year old sister's bf just broke up with her. She was completely blindsided and is crushed. I have no idea what to do for her since I live 5 hours away, any suggestions?

DH is on his way to the airport to pick up my mom and later my step dad. Time to batten down the hatches.

  • They are smoking INSIDE at this shower. 8-}

    For fuck's sake.
  • MIL is an evil B****. She went and got DD1 french fries even after I said no, the doctor said no more fried foods or high fat foods. So she brings back the fries and tells me I have to give them to Mo because she didn't pay for them, and I only said she couldn't buy her any. So she's standing in front of the screen door waving the French fries at DD1. So I said you know that's not what I meant at all. So she got mad and left. Now I look like the bad guy. I've been battling DD a lot recently with getting her to eat her food instead of snack all day. Thanks MIL.
  • You know those days where for absolutely no reason your patiencs is incredibly thin and you could snap at anything?

    that is me today.

I am struggling not to snap at patients today and they haven't done anything wrong! Why do reception always book all my patients around my break times! FFS there is a 3 hour gap between morning tea and lunch, and you insist on booking everyone at my morning tea time, meaning no break for me! GRRRRRRRRR
