Currently going through Rochester after going to the cities for a haunted house (tradition). I thought this was a long drive I couldnt imagine doing Duluth to Rochester and back in one day!!

M will not have anything to do with food other than breast milk. I have made my own, tried jarred purées, tried whole grain rice cereal...she just has no interest.

I gave her homemade sweet potatoes one time at 4 months and she loved it then. Now that she's 6 months, she just wants the milk on tap. The pedi said by her next appointment he wants her eating solids so maybe that's why it's frustrating me that at this point, she just doesn't want any.

I'm trying to go with the approach when she's ready, she'll eat, but I think I'm feeling like I'm on a deadline now from the pedi.

Tomorrow is J's hypospadias surgery and I have been freaking out all evening. I know it's not a major surgery (nothing like what @babylimas has been through) and I know it's pretty routine as far as surgeries go but logic has nothing to do with this. He's my baby and I'm allowed to be nervous. I will probably be MIA for a few days while I cuddle a sore and grumpy boy.

@stephbrim24 I will let you know how it goes.

@kaking78‌ - I freaked out way more about Will's penile repair than the heart thing! Please don't compare to us. It's not fair to you. We have a saying on my heart boards - the worst defect is the one your child has. Big hugs to you! You will be through this soon.

Oh - and hopefully you have it as easy as us but Will was never sore! They basically give them an epidural and he never needed more than tylenol!

I just got a book about teaching sign language to babies. I need to hurry up and read it so I can get started with LO.
Anyone else doing sign language yet? How's it going? Any tips?

A relative just posted videos of her daughter (a few days younger than my LO) crawling and easily getting from sitting to crawling and vice versa. I KNOW (and keep reminding myself) that every baby is different and develop different skills at different rates, and I know that before 7mo is early to crawl. But I couldn't help feeling kind of bummed out. LO wants to crawl SO much. She gets so frustrated that she can't that it makes me feel bad.

AF probably isn't helping my mood either, blargh.

FFTC : I'm ok with LO not crawling. Our pedi said its not even developmentally looked at as an issue until 9 months ( if they aren't crawling ). So come December if she's not crawling , I'll be concerned . I know once she starts crawling she will be EVERYWHERE and I think she's going to be a handful. She already rolls all over the house .

ALSO FFTC : I don't really miss her being a tee tiny newborn. I was at my friends house with a 4 week old and all she did was just sleep. I forgot how little they do at that age . My very talkative 7 month old is way more entertaining. I do miss the sweet cuddles though , no time for all that these days with these awesome new tricks we are learning !

Luke is trying to crawl. He will get up on all fours and rock. I'm not ready for him to start crawling. My parents were trying to put stuff in front of him this weekend to try and make him crawl. I'm like, nooooooo!! I'm ok with him figuring it out on his own; he's not a dog, I don't need to train him.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! The surgery went perfectly and we were home about six hours after it started. He's a little fussy (understandably) and we're all exhausted but otherwise fine.

Not about the drama but Will just had a cardio appt. He looks amazing! His obstruction is actually less than last time they checked and his remaining ASD seems to have closed on its own. We don't have to go for another 6 months. Woooo!! I knew it would be great bc he's fat and active now.

I didn't end up getting one because everything we found was just too high. He still isn't very good at it, but much much stronger. Part of the problem is he has no interest in sitting. He likes to spend his entire day on his tummy or standing. Lately he goes back in forth between a plank and downward dog. It's rather hilarious on his super short arms and legs. I need to get a picture of it.

Oh, I completely forgot. We got this little piano table from Costco. It's not the one you guys mentioned, but it was cheap. He isn't really interested in it. He's much more interested in lights than sound I am discovering. Does the Fisher-Price one have and lights to it? I haven't tried it in a couple weeks, so I should probably pull it out again.

@ everyone with giant babies...how do you do it????? My lil peanuts are just gonna hang out in the itty bitty club with Will

tip for getting a bat out of your house...turn off all the outside lights, turn on a porch light and leave the door open. Bugs will go to the porch light and the bat will go out to the bugs. of course this only works at night.

babies on the move...make.it.stop!!! I'm already exhausted and now the twins are mobile and into everything!

Aw, thanks. It's just really frustrating. It seems every time something gets 'upgraded' on The Bump I have to go through this repeated sign-in process. It i go to another board (like my others BMB or SAHM) I end up getting logged out. Not to mention, iPad formatting got F*d up a while ago and still sucks!!! Lol
