I just cleaned my vacuum cleaner post partum. There was so much hair wrapped around the brush that I could have made hair extensions. You should check your vacuums out, before someone else gets to it first - it's gross.
My husband does most of the vacuuming. He cleans the hair every week. I'm sure we could make a Sasquatch with what he's removed. Yes...gross. (My hair is waist length)
@bennieangel hope you had a better night!! @twaffle5 I'm sorry things are crappy. For what its worth I think at some tines we all feel like were posting into an empty room. Even with it being slower, I think there's just still so many of us? At least that's what I tell myself to feel better. I always remember that a lot of times I myself have a hard time responding individually because there's only so many seconds LO-free. I have my yearly OB appt today and I'm excited to see my doc!! Haha.
@bennieangel Hope the book helps and things get better!
I also have trouble figuring out whether she's actually hungry. She's been waking up SUPER-early lately (1-2am) and seeming like she might be hungry :-/ (I go in to replace paci, DH goes in to replace paci, she starts screaming hysterically until DH gives her a bottle.) She's also been extra hungry. Normally she eats ~29-30oz a day plus a bit of solids but the last few days she ate 35/32/32 plus more solids. This morning she downed a 6.5 oz bottle then 1.5 hrs later ate 3 tbsp oatmeal + 2 tbsp apples (and probably would have eaten more if I didn't cut her off). Her tummy was so puffy after that it looked like it might pop. :-/
She's also been showing possible teething symptoms, but isn't teething supposed to make them less hungry? Maybe a growth spurt + teething? I have no idea but I worry over whether she is overeating. Yesterday she spit up a few times (small amounts) which made me think I might be overfeeding her, but I don't want to underfeed her either.
And last time we were sure she was teething the symptoms went away eventually without any teeth showing up.
Made the mistake of putting LO in the car seat then carrying her to the truck. Chunky butt is to big to be carried like that. I think I pulled a muscle in my rib cage. hurts like a mother....
@farmboyswife, right there with you. Hope the meds make you feel better. Mine don't help the pain, just make me not give a shit that I am hurting
For what it's worth when I asked my doctor about whether little one is hungry he said of course lo is hungry are you hungry when you wake up at 3 AM? His point is they have to learn to put themselves back to sleep when they're hungry too. And then there's hungry like I want a snack and extremely hungry
I think every pedi (and person) has a different point of view on this. I asked my pedi at her 6mo appt about sometimes waking at night (max of once a night) to eat, fully expecting him to say don't feed her, but he actually said that once a night was still ok at her age, and the fact that she did sleep through some nights was a good sign.
On one hand I hate having to feed her at night because I feel like I could create a bad habit, but on the other hand I don't know what I would do if I didn't feed her, other than let her CIO which I'd like to avoid unless I really have to. :-/
I'm jumping in on the sleep and feeding baby in MOTN talk. I try to let him put himself back to sleep, but he won't. I know he can, but he won't. The night before last, he was up 4 times, and ate everytime. Last night he was only up once (unless you count 5am as MOTN). So, I don't know what gives. I'm just rolling with the punches, and listening to my gut. My pedi told me he should not be waking up in MOTN, but I don't agree with her. I just nod my head and say, "OK" and then go home and do what I feel is best for my son. He sleeps till almost 10 every morning, so I really shouldn't complain about him getting up so much.

LO usually has a nap around 3 hours after he gets up, could be 30 minutes to 3 hours long. He has been asleep for 2 hours.
It's now DS1's nap time, which means LO will be awake soon. He sleeps 2-3 hours.
I guess I won't make it for groceries again today. I had people coming over this morning so I couldn't go then. Maybe DH will buy what I need on his way home? :-/
was supposed to leave this afternoon for a family trip to the ranch. got everything load in the truck. On the way to work DH says I don't think we are leaving tonight, I may have to work tomorrow because a coworker has been out all week. Don't you think that is something you should bring up before we are all packed up? I could have brought a change of clothes and gone to my workout class... Seriously. Men and their no planning!! AAAAHHH
@DisneyAddict1@bennieangel DH does grab stuff from time to time, but I try to do the majority of it since he works 50 hours a week minimum and drives 10+ hours a week to get there and back. Add eating and sleep in there, most days he only sees the kids 1-2 hours a day.
LO only has a looooooong nap usually once a week. (This is his second one this week - he must be hitting a growth spurt)
@alfriedeck because I'm nosey, where's y'all's ranch? I promise I'm not going to stalk you, just curious.

@lincbeesmom sometimes LO blows raspberries when were trying to get her down. I think for her its her way of trying staying awake! As soon as she starts I know its gonna be a tough bedtime.
Hi, I'm jsmath and I'm a CD addict.
I just bought the following lovelies and DH is going to kill me... I got a deal though!!
Ps. Yes, they have RUFFLES!!
Ruffles!!??!?!?! On CDs?!?!??!
That's it, we are going to have a baby girl whether Mr. Peach likes it or not!!
Update on yesterday's post: So after binging herself at breakfast yesterday morning she ate less the rest of the day and ended up back at her normal (just under 30 oz). And despite being OT when she went to bed (she skipped her last nap), she slept until 4:30am before she woke up hungry (I'd prefer STTN but I'll take it after several nights of waking up at 1am). She then slept until 7:15ish (rather than waking up at 6 the last few days). Woo Maybe it was just a growth spurt? *fingers crossed*
@babycaps the are doing really well. Maybe on the back end of the curve for movement, they are 7.5 months and Dominic just started to army crawl but is also on all 4s rocking and can sit un-assisted. Vincent has been army crawling for a while but is struggling with sitting (mainly b/c he wants to move and not sit still).
They don't STTN, but I also feel guilty about them being small and just nurse them if they wake up so I'm probably not helping them learn to sleep.
They are otherwise great and certainly not screaming for food. They only cry if they need something and are very happy.
I"m more annoyed at the "diagnosis" than anything b/c I feel like they are just small. The pedi put in a referral to see a GI specialist to make sure there is no issue with absorption of nutrients. All poops and pees are normal though and we've never really had gas or spit up issues.
FWIW DS1 weighed less than both boys did at their 6 month appt and he is now in the 30% and smart as a whip so being a lightweight hasn't affected his brain development.
@YankeePeach08 your pedi would have a field day with my babies. They're still such peanuts and I feel like they eat all the time. Owen is even getting formula for at least half of his feedings and he's still less than 1%. Our doctor was a little concerned because Keira fell off her curve a little at our 7 month weight check but just asked us to come back again in a month to monitor them. Keira can sit on her own for a minute or two, but otherwise they just roll from back to belly and that's about it.
In other news today was our 5 year anniversary and I'm on my third glass of wine from the winery where we got married. Great way to wind down the night but I will probably regret it in a couple of hours when Keira wakes up. Sleep baby sleep!
I have not slept for more than 30 minutes in a row tonight. I didn't fall asleep until after 12:30 (normally between 10 and 11). I keep waking up. It's now 5:15. I need to be up by 7-7:30 to shower and get ready to go to an appointment. Normally I sleep til the kids get up between 8:30 and 9. LO has been asleep since 11 (usually 9pm) and hasn't woken since (normally awake to eat @2:30 and 5).
Reason: visiting family, not in my own bed, 3 kids with me...argh!!
Oh, and I have a headache because I haven't slept well.
I never should have said something about Keira waking up in a few hours last night (her normal routine). She woke up 10 min after I posted that when Owen woke up (which never happens!). It was a rough night with lots of walking/bouncing/rocking. Finally get her down good a couple of hours later and the 3 yo wakes up and wants to snuggle. I don't usually mind but this time I'm not sure he could have wrapped himself around me any tighter. Then Keira was up for the day at 5:00. DH has guard duty this weekend so it's going to be a long day for this mama. At least all that walking last night and being awake to drink water seems to have saved me from a wine hangover.

Omg, I was so busy yesterday. We visited my sister Friday night to Saturday. (DH stayed home because he had to work all evening Friday and all day Saturday) LO slept from the minute I put him in his car seat and for the 3 hour drive. DS1 fell asleep half hour before we got there. He played with toys the whole drive. He wouldn't eat supper. No one slept well Friday night. We got up early to go to a fall fair. It rained lightly all day. I nursed LO outside in the rain. We all got muddy, but it was fun. We drove home yesterday afternoon. LO was asleep when I put him in his car seat. DS1 fell asleep 5 minutes later. They both slept the entire drive. Much better sleep last night. And now DH has the kids while I rest for just a bit longer.
And the ILs are taking the kids for a few hours today. Yay!!
Not at all I would like to go back to add to my degree after all my kids are in school or atleast most of them (Pending how many we have and if we can have more)
I keep going back and forth between going now (get it over with but possibly miss out on time with LO) or go after they're in school (but that seems too far away and I'm scared I'll lose my motivation).
@WisconsinCheese12 I would be fuming too if I were you. Especially with the fun family time being interrupted. Hope next weekend has some warm weather for you still!
DS1 barely sits down for 5 minutes some days, so I'm running around playing with him almost non-stop. LO is trying desperately to crawl. He prefers to sit up or stand but hasn't mastered either, so I end up sitting on the floor with him or putting him in the bouncer/exersaucer so I can do something.
I was barely home this weekend so I didn't get any laundry done.
Both kids slept really well last night which was wonderful for me. I got a little caught up on sleep, but now it's lunch time and we just finished eating breakfast.
I feel like anytime I've got time on my hands to participate, there's nothing going on here that fits my life (eg. Working moms - I'm currently SAHM). When I don't have time there's always lots going on (last night's clicky polls, and birthdays, anniversaries, yada-yada). {I got on here briefly last night}.
I just don't have a consistent availability anymore and it is making me crazy. Lol.
