Where's @tsmith312? I haven't seen her around lately. Maybe I missed where she said she would be gone for a while or something.
I told her you're asking
I'm here, I escaped the office madness for a second . I'm STILL working on tons of end of the month dead lines ( you notice its October 6th so I'm obviously behind ). I've been on FB a little but not a lot. Just wanted to say thanks for thinking of me . Harpers been pretty needy lately too so when I get home she clings to my side ALL night ( not that im complaining , I do love it ) , so it makes doing anything a little harder . Things are slowing down so maybe I can be on more...

I am so pissed off right now & I'm not sure what to do . My in laws watch dd every Monday while I work 4 hours. Now they told my husband tonight that they are worried about her well being and they don't think we feed her enough and she is malnourished and we aren't feeding her enough. ~X(
did they say anything specifically? I'd be so snarky and ask what she weighed when they weighed her and what % she was in. You don't think they would feed her anything you havn't approved, do you?
Also, they would have a field day with my boys and their "failure to thrive"
@younglove316 Honestly I would call MIL and have a heart to heart with her...and also scare her a little (like you may not give them alone access to LO).
"MIL, DH told me your and FILs concern over LO and we appreciate your thoughts and concern. her pedi has repeatedly reassured us that she is perfect...weight wise, height wise and meeting her milestones. her pedi also says we are feeding her all of the correct foods, in the correct amounts and at the correct time. B/c you have voiced your concern many times despite our insistence that nothing is wrong with her weight I'm worried you are going to feel the need to take matters into your own hands. DH and I under NO circumstances want her fed XYZ. If we continue to feel that you will not make good choices/follow our wishes when you are watching her we will not be able to allow you to be alone with her."
That is obviously a little dramatic but it may be necessary to shut her up. Also, offer to let her go to the next doctor appointment and have the pedi tell her that she is wrong...that could be fun to watch too
Just another thought, are you able to email your pedi? You could always send an email and tell him/her the advice that ILs are giving and ask their opinion then show it to the ILs.
Who the hell is that person that asked if anyone's pregnant? Am I really rude not to recognize them?... If so, sorry. I was just like wow someone I don't even know asked this... Hmmm :-t
She has been around a bit off and on. Not much lately, but I've seen the name.
@WisconsinCheese12 could you be a milk maid or a farmer of some kind? Get some overalls and pigtails and call it a day?
Dh was going to be a farmer. I was havifn a hard time finding him overalls that weren't $30. I'm bummed ;(
If I hadn't washed the costume for her I could have brought it back but has to have tags to return to ouac! Idk where they are. Also I was so excited about the funny cow thing.
I don't think you'd need overalls to be a farmer. You could probably get away with jeans, flannel shirt and cowboy hat.

Why do people praise television as being 'a wonderful babysitter' for children? (Especially children under 2 years) I'd rather have no tv.
I'd rather no tv too, we barely have the time to watch anything. I may go back on this statement in a few years. But I think that's what's wrong with kids these days. No playing outside they just want to plop down in front of the tv for hours. GO OUTSIDE AND PLAY!!!
Married : ** 09/09/2011 ** BFP : 07-18-13 ** Baby #1 is a GIRL , Born 03/12/14 **
I've tried not having the TV on because of my concerns about LO watching TV. But I was actually getting lost in my thoughts and really down on myself and lonely and anxious. So I have the TV on for my own sanity and try to face LO away and we go to different rooms and out of the house throughout the day. @WisconsinCheese12 DH loved Ninja Turtles when he was young so one of his cousins gave us a few Ninja Turtle onesies and pajamas if you want to borrow one! Random I know!!
I have no issue with a quick 10-20 minutes to distract LO to calm them down, or for mommy so she doesn't go crazy. But MIL thinks I should have it on all day for DS1 to watch since I spend so much time with LO.
Both boys get mommy time while the other plays. They don't nap at the same time, so they also have that time, and it's alone with me. I don't need 'a babysitter'. And it bothers me that she has the TV on alllllllll day at her house when DS1 is there.
I grew up in a house where the TV was on all day. 7am til midnight. Every.day. My mother was SAHM. We watched TV most of the day, played in front of it. I've had no TV for 10 years. I don't miss it. Sure, there are shows I enjoy watching from time-to-time, but MIL keeps telling me (in a happy, cheery, sing-song way) that I will become addicted too. Grrr. I really could live without. DH likes it, and I sit with him while he watches, but I rarely pay attention. Lol.
Omg, I'm so sorry. I could go on for days about this. I'm going to shut up now.
@NewMomma8 Background noise. Same thing as if someone has the radio going. (Which irritates me if its going all day, but that's because constant noise gives me migraines)
I play music for the kids throughout the day.
But MIL will sit DS1 in front of the TV and keep pointing to it so he watches. If he gets distracted by toys she will try to draw his attention back to the TV.
I'm so glad that we are not in a situation that requires us to all live in one house together.
I was wondering where @babylimas was too! I need a Will update!

LO has slept a total of 3 hours since 9pm. It is nearly 7am. I-) Most of the night was extreme fussiness along with a little screaming. Most of the rest of the night was quietness due to me or DH distracting him. He had some random burps during all the jostling. (He burped before being laid down too) He just started farting an hour ago. (Just a few little ones)
I blame FBW for her poll re:screaming toddler vs baby. If that's not it, then it's either the chicken he ate for supper, or his bottom front teeth are about to pop through.
Whatever the reason, I'm extremely displeased with the sleep I've gotten. >:P
**WARNING dear diary , VENT whatever , CIO mentioned ** ( for those offended by CIO )
We will be doing CIO starting Friday, I hope it works. DH and I are loosing our minds to no sleep. My sleeping unicorn has turned into well , a none sleeping unicorn. Now when I go to lay her down at night she wakes right up and then awakens at least 3 times during the night. I don't know what's going on . Even my mom is losing it with Harper, she was comparing Harper to my niece and nephew this morning , basically calling her a spoiled hand full. It started my morning out bad already. I love my child and enjoy rocking her to sleep each night because that's just a little more time we get together since I maybe get 2 hours of wake time a day with her. I guess that will have to be cut out to save everyone's sanity. WHY cant I just stay home it will make it so much easier !!!

I am right there with you girls. Caitlynn went from 8pm -7am with no wake ups to trying to get her in her crib for 1-2 hours starting at 7:30, waking up every night at 11:00 wide awake and taking 2 hours to get back to sleep.
@newmomma8 I have done the same thing and think I have created this monster. I don't get enough time with her as it is so I hold her as long as I can at night then after 2 hours trying to get her back to sleep at 1am, it is easier to just lay down with her so I can at least get some sleep before heading to work. That's what I get for bragging about my unicorn....
I'm super jealous of the ladies who are leaving their jobs. But I'm also really happy for you @bunnyfungo !! I always think of you @FarmBoysWife and @mrsdahamm as the ones that helped me get through the early days back to work. Now if only I could leave my job, too! I just want to be a SAHM.

How the hell do you spoil a 6 month old?
RIGHT?! I don't know, but apparently I'm spoiling her. I'm already struggling this week with a lot of other stuff and my mom just made me feel worse this morning with that comment. I really wish 1. I could put her in daycare or 2. Just stay home. She pretty much jumped for joy when I told her she wouldn't have Harper the rest of the week. I'm off tomorrow and MIL has her Friday. Her exact words were " thank God I need the time off".

@tsmith312 hang in there. You are a wonderful mom to Harper and you know that Harper knows that, so that's all that really matters. I'm sorry your mom thinks you're spoiling her. Keep your head up!
FFWC: I took over the music at work today and put on Michael Bublé Christmas and am drinking eggnog coffee at my desk in an attempt to lift my spirits...it's working for me!! Probably not so much for anyone else that has to come into my office today but I have no shame!
I just used the bathroom then weighed myself. I'm down 14 lbs from last night. ) I weighed myself 3 times. Then I took the scales to DH. He weighs in this morning 15 lbs less than usual too.
Maybe we both pooped sooooooo much that its accurate. Lmao.
@SurpriseAt39 I have the opposite problem, I weighed the other day, then pooped 5 minutes later and weighed again. My scale said I was 20 pounds heavier after. So, bathroom scale shopping is in the near future

Sadly we removed the battery and reset it. we regained the weight we were hoping we had lost.
Yeah, if you GAINED 20 lbs after pooping...time to reset or buy new.

@tsmith312, T has gone from sleeping all night, average 8pm to 7am, and now getting up at least once a night. It's like she starts waking up and immediately rolls onto her belly which really wakes her up.
But in her defense, I did put her in our bed when she would wake up to get her back to sleep and then put her back in her bed,...now she just likes our bed. She will sleep all night if she is snuggled up to me, but not in her bed like usual. So I think I'm the one to blame for this. Sigh!
@FarmBoysWife DD pretty much refused to nap on a regular basis by the time she turned 2 years old. It was only occasionally that she would lay down for a hour during the day. She would fall asleep in the car if we drove very far. She also slept 9pm-ish to 8am-ish.
DS1 is 22 months. He usually has 2 hour naps at home, but recently started doing 2.5-3 hours. He also sleeps 9:30-9am most days.
Not all kids need extra long daily daytime sleep. Maybe he will go a few days without, then a day with a nap. Maybe he just needs a bedtime adjustment?
It's scary because you would actually see people wear that here. Even scarier, they'd make it look good.
Layla managed to put herself back to sleep 3 times last night! I let her fuss for up to ten minutes, and each time she went back to sleep. Fingers crossed this is the beginning of the end of getting up 5 times a night

LO slept like crap again last night, waking every 45 minutes or so. Thankfully he went to sleep again fairly quickly, but waking me up that often is not making me happy.
Then, at 4:30 he decided it was time to practice crawling. He did that for an hour and a half while I laid on the bed watching him. Quick milk snack and he slept for another 2.5 hours. Now he is practicing again. I'm tired.
