We tried moving M to her crib for the night last night for the first time (Hubs and I wanted to watch American Horror Story and didn't want her upstairs for it...I'm still creeped out!). It didn't go so well. I tried waiting the magic 10 I've seen some of you mention and even doing that, it broke my heart! As soon as I walked into her room, her face lit up. She cried instantly when I left. When I finally brought her back to the living room with us, she immediately curled up with me and fell right to sleep. The mom guilt in me feels like it's because I'm gone at work all day and only really get 2 awake hours a night with her before bedtime.
I know hubs really wants her in her crib now that she is 6 months old, but as long as I am still getting up 3-4 times a night with her, she can stay right next to our bed!
I need to get a car charger for my new phone. It is insanely annoying always having my phone die. I just can't get it together enough to go buy one. Also I left 45 minutes early for our playgroup so LO could nap ahead of time. Of course there's a huge alarm siren going off and woke her up while I'm sitting in the parking lot. And she won't go to back to sleep. Also she did not sleep well last night and I'm crap today. When does this end??
@NewMomma8 I'm not an expert but the stats sound okay to me. If your pedi wasn't concerned I'd say it's fine.
The sheet the pedi gave us said we could give juice if we wanted but don't have to. They said it is not at all necessary for their nutrition, and if you do give it, to dilute it by half with water.
I just visited my friend with a 4 week old ... I would be lying if I said my womb wasn't tingling ">
I'm visiting my friend & her 2 week old tomorrow...I can't even. I feel like I won't remember how to hold a baby that little....
It's like riding a bike , it comes back . The baby was literally screaming she handed her to me , not even 10 mins later I had that baby sound asleep .. I still got the touch .

Sorry ladies!! I didn't mean to abandon. I am excited you all missed me. :x
After the race we had about another week of vacation and didn't have any internet for part of it. Then my daughter was in a wedding and we had constant functions. Then on Monday I started my new job!!!! I love it but I share a desk with my boss, so I don't can't really hang on the internet. It's awesome though. My goal is to have a listing in my first 5 days, and tomorrow is my 5th day. I have almost nailed it.
So, Will update. He had his appointment with the DS Clinic today. We have waited 8 months for it. I was told you always leave with recommendations for increased therapies and it's really depressing. We left with nothing!!! We were told he is right on track and doing amazing. They were so impressed with him (and us.) I am so incredibly proud. He wasn't delayed at all with grasping and fine motor. He is amazing.
They also told me a rule of thumb that really helped quantify things for me. His OT said she expects him to develop 4 months every 6 months. That is really helpful to understand. It shows how he develops slower and how he will fall further behind as he gets older. So he will never be on track with hall's kids, but he's on his own perfect little track.
He was also 13 lbs 8 ounces. My little fattie!!
One more thing. This is getting super long. He started solids this week and loved it. He only had a few bites of his banana. Then he had a sub today who had no idea what was going on (there was a bit of a tragedy at the center, so I am not at all upset about this). The therapists feed Will and he has a stash of food there for them to try next. She just grabbed a random jar of pears, not knowing anything about his feeding and he ate half of it in one sitting! HA! He totally tricked her into a big meal.
So you see how I am carrying Will? That would normally be a big no no, because of his hips, but when he's facing me, he bends completely backwards and hangs his head upside down. He is so insanely social. Haha. Our OT gave me special permission to forward face. I need to get a picture of the weirdo.
@lincbeesmom This is why I shouldn't type so when I'm half awake. OK, sorry. The couple had 4 or 5 kids in the bridal party and none of the kids were invited to the reception. They didn't tell my sister until two weeks beforehand. I get wanting a kid free reception but that just seemed ridiculous to me. My sister's mom ended up being the one to take my neice home after the ceremony. My nice is 5 BTW.
That's super rude. I would have pulled my kids out of the wedding for that. They clearly just wanted props for cute pictures and don't actually care about including the kids closest to them.
Dreaming about not being able to sleep still counts towards sleep right? Because that's the only sleep I got last night. LO only got up once last night but I seem to have acquired insomnia despite how effing tired I am.
Gotta love when your royally F something up before 8 a.m.... UGGH good thing its Friday !
Usually I am the one fixing the royal F ups before 8 am (that's why I come in an hour before everyone else) so I feel your pain. Hopefully the rest of your day goes quick and you can snuggle Harper all weekend!! Better to get the F ups out of the way early than at the end of the day and getting stuck there later, right no idea what has me so "glass is half full" today haha

@kaking78 how long? Lo was 28.2 inches. I remember your lo as being at the top end of the charts! But my lo is a girl!!!
I was happy she started crawling. At least it's less holding I'm the same as you. Let's walk kid. My back is a mess
I hear you. Caitlynn was 29.5 inches and 19.5 pounds at her Dr apt this week (6.75 months)!! Had a lady at a restaurant ask how old she was, after I said 6 months she said "she is so little for her age" WHAT?? I don't think 99.7% height and 88%weight is considered small for her age..
Made the mistake of putting her in her car seat then carrying it to the car. Bad Idea! pulled a muscle in my rib cage. She looks like she will be crawling soon.
@bennieangel we had a bat a few months ago!! I was nursing M at 2am, the dog was freaking out and I thought she saw a bug at first. That nasty bat swooped down and I was abnormally calm. There are still marks on the wall from where Hubs killed that thing with my tennis racket!!
Hubs is at work and I successfully got M to sleep in her crib for the first time ever (all it took was 27 weeks and 1 day for me to be ready!). I'm lonely without her curled up next to me and am thisclose to walking down the hall to scoop her up to cuddle in bed with me. I'm curious to see if she sleeps all night - we have been up minimum 3 times a night since birth, and she's always been in the bassinet next to me (or the bed recently).
As soon as I hit post, M started fussing. I went in to give her the binkie and she was reaching for my arm and cuddling it. She's currently side-lie nursing with me in my bed. I'm no good at this whole separate rooms concept.
@bennieangel I was right there with you at 9 and I think you're right about keeping her in here until I am ready. Poor LO ended up throwing up (worse than when she was a newborn) last night out of nowhere, so she wound up staying in here anyway.
@Jt7dreamz all the wine is a good thing! Special occasion wine or just because wine?
@Jt7dreamz I'm happy LO is starting to get around on his own because it means I can carry him and hold him a little less. That means I am able to get stuff done. DS1 is loving laying next to LO and crawling with him.
I looked at notes the other day, and DS1 was climbing the stairs at 7 months 1 week. I guess l'll be watching for that when DS1 leads him that far. Lol.
We are having an upheaval with Will's school right now. It's really sad. His morning teacher passed in an accident on Thursday and his afternoon teacher has taken an extended leave. They have taught there together for over 20 years so the school is very upset.
I didn't realize how much they took Will in stride until now. It's just going to be revolving subs and we are having to write a bio about Will and all his specialized care. It's so long! He has his own gear, his own way of feeding, exercises all day, and daily therapy appointments. It's a lot for a sub to figure out!
I hope Will continues to get the same quality care from the subs that he was getting from his teachers. I can't imagine that it will be easy for the subs to take over the entire class, especially if it is different subs on a regular basis.
My unicorn slept last night from 9-8:30 Without waking. When i woke up i ran in her Room Honestly thinking something was Wrong. She just smiled at me. Love her so much
@FFwifey LO's system is getting messed up too. He had 2 massive poops today. After having 3 massive poops yesterday and just the tiniest poop the day before.
