Question to those of you in colder weather......

Is 65 degrees light sweater weather??

We have been stuck in 80 or 90 degree weather for so long I can't remember what 65 feels like. We're going to Dallas for the OU v. Texas game and it will be in the 60's for the morning when we are tailgating. I am just trying to figure out what to pack for us tonight and if my son needs a jacket or just a light sweater.

Yes. Sweater! We just had 65 degree day here last week and couldn't stop shivering! I also had a thin sweater on and jeans. A 20 degree difference will throw you off and it will feel colder than you expected it.

  • @cafecreme‌ Happy Anniversary! Can I ask the name of the restaurant with the amazing cheese?

@chaysefaith‌ I'm obsessed with the Ortega taco sauce. We've been eating a lot of tacos, burritos & quesadillas.

@kellbell1982‌ I love piercings. I never had dermals, but I do have some scars from old piercings by my eyebrows. (I probably wouldn't have taken them out if it was accepted at my job.) Do what makes you feel comfortable. The scars shouldn't be too difficult to cover up with make up if you decide to remove them.

That's what I'm obsessed with now too.  I'm making tacos every couple days for dinner and maxing on leftovers for lunch on the days tacos aren't for dinner.  Just for some damn taco sauce.
  • @LBeez13‌ I would bring a sweater or light jacket. I'm in DFW and it might also rain (I've heard but haven't checked myself yet). For those of us who are in warmer weather for so long, 65 can definitely feel chilly!

There is a 60% chance of rain on Saturday, fyi.

I would say wear layers, and bring a poncho or something to cover you in case it actually does rain (this is Texas after all). 65 is chilly, but it will warm up fast.

Also, TOTES JELLY!!! Hook 'em Horns (even though we're going to lose)

Sorry for the novel, I am too far behind to tag, but I agree that those who have sleeping problems should get a sleep study done. It is something that can be hereditary (airway structure is small), but doctors overly focus on weight for diagnosing apnea.

I personally had it in my early 20s, and went to the doctor with permentant headaches, mood problems, hallucinations, extreme fatigue, and cognitive difficulties. Not one mentioned apnea, and each tried to diagnose my symptoms separately because I was not overweight.

Then when I got a roommate in college, she shook me awake one night hysterical because I wasn't breathing and making choking sounds. Bingo. Went for a sleep study and they diagnosed me with severe central and obstructive sleep apnea. They had to do a surgery on my airway, but it was a new lease on life. I still have the central apnea (no treatment for it), but life has dramatically improved with half of it gone.

A big clue that you are in danger of having inhereted a faulty airway is if your family (particularly parents) are heavy snorers. My mother is a champion midnight freight train :p. I will be watching my children for problems as well.

  • I agree, I shouldn't have to ask what I can and can't wear (and I'm not really asking, it's more like I'm letting him know and asking for input) but I feel some kind of responsibility to get the ok on everything I do that in the slightest was affects our baby because he has a bio mom to 2 boys that completely ignores him when it involves kids. She hates him for some reason and basically uses the kids against. I don't want him to ever feel like I'm doing the same so I run everything by him. Even before we got a bfp I talked to him about how I might want my birth to go.

  • I just want to eat taco sauce every day.  I don't think I can force my family to have tacos too many more nights just because I'm craving taco sauce.

    What's a girl to do?!
Is you eating tacos and them eating something else an option?

You guys, my SO just had to fire a guy for stealing cafeteria lunch.
He could have said he forgot to pay, whoops no harm done. Instead he went on this giant diatribe about how the line is always too long and he refuses to wait. It must have been pretty damn long to throw away his career like that.

  • @cafecreme Happy Anniversary! It sounds like you'll have a great night!

I want to be excited for the weekend, but Sunday I'm hosting a baby shower at my house and I kind of regret offering to do it. (It's for my brother's friend with benefits that he knocked up) Hopefully it won't take too long and I can watch football the rest of the day!

@Peledreamsofrain‌ were your hallucinations while awake during the day?
Yes, they were mild though, so I didn't know what was happening. I thought everyone's vision occasionally shifted so that everything looked several hundred yards away (even your own body parts), or that the scene in front of you jittered violently. Totes normal, right? :p

ETA: my favorite was when people's body proportions would suddenly get screwy, that one waas kinda hilarious.

@Haps92907‌ aww sisters :) glad everything is okay for big sis.

@kellbell1982‌ I actually really like your piercings and I'm not usually a fan of surface piercings. I think they're cute, but I also think that if you wanted to take them out, and let them heal, the scars wouldn't be as bad as you think. I still miss my lip ring :(
I was also a really "cool" teenager/20-something and had my ears gauged? plugged? Down to a 4, not too crazy but still unnatural. On our wedding day, DH gave me beautiful diamond studs, that I wore for about a week before one went sliding through my ear lobe. I was devastated, by after a little while of not wearing any earrings at all, my wars closed up, and now I never take my diamond earri ga out :)
Side note- are those contacts, or your actual eyeballs? Either way, they are amazing.

Also guys, I just ate fast food for the second time in 3 days. I just wanted some McD's fries... I don't know how that BIG MAC ended up in my bag????? I'm cut off.

  • @Chunkymonkeylvr‌ I'm sending you so many <<hugs>> right now!! That is just ridiculous. There are certain areas in our city where that type of thing dominates.

I would definitely have a personal 'talk' with this mom. It's better to just confront the issue and try to be as adult as possible. She might not even realize you know.

I can't believe people like that still exist outside of middle and high school. If you need to talk or vent, please pm me, or share on here.

    <<more hugs>>
  • @JenLa21‌ they are my natural eyes and thank you so much for the compliment;) @Chunkymonkeylvr‌ I felt like crying just reading your post. Wtf is wrong with people! Grown women gossiping about a child! I'm so sorry you're going through that

  • I'm only on page 4, but damn it I'm mad and sad and just crying here. My daughter and I just moved up to be with my husband a little over a year ago. We are in a pretty small town where everyone knows everyone so it's been tough to break in on my end. My DD fit in with a month has fit in like a glove. I have done my best at volunteering at her school and doing what I can to get her involved in activities. I try and talk to her friend's parents etc. My daughter has even thrown a couple of slumber parties and invited every girl in her class so no one was excluded. According to one mother, there is something wrong with my daughter and I. I haven't a clue what. I'm not weird. It has me in tears. She has told other parents this. My daughter went and stayed the night at a new friend's house and they were on her mother's tablet where they came across text messages of the two mom's having this discussion. So now my daughter knows and she is the one who told me. Now it makes sense as to why my daughter isn't on a certain volleyball team like all of her friends, and why she is never invited to outings with her friends, or they are never allowed to come over here. I really confront this one mother but afraid it will damage my daughter and her friends even more. so I feel like I'm back in middle school crying (% hormones) because the "cool" kids don't like me. Eta: tl; Dr. I'm crying and mean girls suck, even at 33.

That's terrible.  Sorry you and your daughter are having to deal with that.

Hey now, I think I'm pretty cool and my ears have been WAAAY over a 4 for more than 10 years now. To me they're not "unnatural" and I can't imagine them ever being any other way.

  • @Chunkymonkeylvr‌ that is really heartbreaking :( my cousin has a daughter in middle school, and her stories about other girls are seriously cringeworthy. It's really sad that these other moms are up to the same tricks. Way to set an example for your daughters.

I definitely get wanting to confront one of the moms who are talking smack, but I'm with you on not wanting to make things worse for your daughter. Are you close with any moms from school that you can confide in and ask what the deal is?

Ahh ok. So different from my hallucinations ;) I am fairly sure I have sleep paralysis. I wake up hallucinating.
I get sleep paralysis at least once every 2 weeks or so. Not cool shit. It has always involved hallucinations. Blegh.
  • @chunkymonkeylvr - I think you should talk to her. She is a grown adult and should be willing to discuss whatever she has a problem with you about - it shouldn't impact your child, for sure. This makes me really upset :( I'm so sorry and HUGS.

  • @chunkymonkeylvr I'm so sorry that happened and your daughter saw it. I would absolutely speak to that mom once you are feeling calm enough to do so. It's inappropriate for her to talk about you behind your back and I'd ask her what specifically she thinks is wrong with you. My feeling is she won't have anything to say because she's just running her mouth. I normally hate confrontations, but this is affecting your daughter and I'd draw the line at people dragging my kid into gossip.

Oh, and I forgot to mention I'm 20 weeks 2da.

    HALF BAKED, BABY!!!!!!

    (And a banana?? Fo real?)
I said that same thing the first time I saw the banana. How is that in anyway relatable to the size of a baby?? That helps just about as much as saying "Your baby is as big as a length of 47 feet of yarn!"

@ChunkymonkeyIvr hugs! My mom went through something similar (before texting) when we lived in TN for 2 years. She tried to integrate with the other moms but they already had their "clique" and wouldn't really include her in anything. She felt very alone. My mom is also pretty introverted, so that didn't help. I had no problem fitting in and I'm very extroverted so I get along with most people, but I really felt bad for my mom because she tried to make friends and nobody would let her in.  >:D<
