Hi hi! Sorry to butt in like this but I thought you ladies might be able to help and I didn't want to start a whole new thread. I just went to thaw some of my freezer stash to give my DD so I could start rotating before it got too old. It smells and tastes freezer burned. Do I have to toss it or is it ok to offer my DD and if she drink it we're good to go? I don't want to upset her tummy.
@KatieGummow I didn't realize it was your best friend who married your brother! That's like a dream come true... Your best friend being a part of your family forever, and now she's having a baby too! Yay!!
@Amsull324 I have no idea, but I'm sure some of these smart ladies can help you out. Come around more often!

I feel so bad for DD! Her brothers football game was this morning and it's over an hour away, she cheers later today at another game and we were afraid the drive time might overlap with her game so she had to stay behind with me and the baby while everyone else went to his game. She threw a fit because she couldn't go, and she is sooo dramatic. Saying things like, "I guess I just don't DESERVE to go! Your stepping on my dreams!" And slamming doors. H had no patience for that this morning and threatened to spank her! So out of nowhere, we've never spanked!! Threatening to hit her just made it worse. The poor kid, she just wanted to spend time with her grandparents but can't communicate legitimate feelings because she's NINE YEARS OLD!!! He seems to forget that she's just a little kid. I hate to always undermine him but I always have to remedy the situation which starts a fight. But I hate the way he parents, he can be a really shitty dad. I'm livid, and my heart aches for her
This is day 2 of no soda, sonic I later sprout horns or fly off the handle I apologize. The bathroom vanity lights all decided to die all at once last night. I need to get dressed and go get new bulbs, but I am afraid I will see a coca-cola and crumble.

I used to drink A TON of pop and was addicted. DH and I wanted to kick the habit so LO wouldn't drink pop. During pregnancy we stopped keeping it in the house and only get it if we are out to eat. It's gotten to the point where I don't even really like it anymore, which I never would have imagined me ever saying. But I don't even get it often when we are out anymore because beer is way better.
It's taken time but I want to encourage you that it gets WAY easier!! I never even really think about it anymore when I used to be miserable without it.

Had our first baby, Samuel Robert, on April 17, 2014!
I feel really really crapy. I think it will also be interesting to see if the reduction of liquid calories will decrease my supply, or csyse wt loss. I figure I drink 800cal a day in soda. Yes that's a 2L a day.
Why has nobody invented sprayable diaper rash treatment!? E kicks so much he gets the cream every freaking where. Also, I can't get his diaper rash to go away. I have tried different diapers, Desitin, A&D, and Butt Paste. We change him often and tonight I even let him hang out naked after a bath for 15-20 minutes. Any suggestions? Also, I'm irrationally angry at DH right now. He went for a run and I did bath time, got diaper cream all over me and E, got peed on and E spit up right after I put him in clean pj's. Bah humbug.
Good question @Jessieann1020. I noticed others have mentioned it, but we have used coconut oil since day one. We keep it in it's semi-solid form, as the heat of the body naturally breaks it down to a liquid form when applying. We use this with every diaper change, but not too much, you want LO to be comfy not slippery in his/her diaper. Almost 5 months old and hasn't had a sign of diaper rash yet
@RedDawnsRevenge Goodness! 809 calories!? Have you ever thought about weaning yourself off, like drinking a 32 oz., then going to a 20 oz., then 12, then none at all? I've heard you're less likely to cheat on a diet or cave in if you don't completely deprive yourself, just limit yourself.
So excited to hear who our exchange buddies are!! @vinny424 Have you picked them yet?

So excited! My best friend, who just married my brother, is pregnant and on the march/April 2015 board!!! Woooo!!! My first college friend having a baby!
That's awesome! My DH's family is similar. One of DH's best friends married his sister.

Brand new $300 king size duvet - on the bed for LESS THAN AN HOUR and one of the cats puked yellow bile all. over. it.
I've treated it twice now and it's not coming out. Sometimes I wish we had no pets!
Have you tried 4 parts hydrogen peroxide and 1 part dish soap? It works great on pet stains (and food stains and oil stains, I use it to pretreat all laundry stains and on carpet stains.)

I try to avoid sleep crutches but Dylan is the worst napper and he sleeps well in his swing. He was pretty damn fussy earlier so you bet your sweet ass I strapped him into that swing. He's been asleep for almost 3 hours boom!

I have tried weaning myself but I always fail, or just don't pay attention which leads to drinking 2L a day. The caffeine withdrawal HA has hit.
Maybe try replacing the caffeine with a cup of tea or black coffee? There's like, all of 5 calories in black coffee but it will keep that headache at bay.

Good luck!
I never had a soda problem before, but I couldn't drink coffee this pregnancy and I got totally hooked on coke. (coca cola, I mean. Not coke coke!) now I crave it throughout the day. I really need to cut it out or way way down.
Reverse here! I would drink like, half a soda a week maybe. Now, since I don't drink coffee and I just can't get caffiene out of tea for some reason, I'm downing one or two a day. Eh.
Alera's laying on the floor between my spread legs, and she started rolling in such a way that her face would've ended up in my crotch.
Me: "Ohh, no. There will be no going back in. I could barely give birth to you when you were 8 1/2 pounds, I damn sure am not doing it when you're 17 1/2!" Alera; *giggles* Me: "Yeah, it's funny now. Just you wait, kid."

I received a handout at LO's 4mo appt about food and what to feed him and when. My question is... why are the foods suggested in completely different orders for BF babies vs FF babies?

Truthfully they shouldn't be, as FF is supposed to be trying to replicate human milk. That said, I had an instructor in nursing school that made all of us drink a shot if formula. Thought I was going to die. My theory is they are in different orders d/t taste and trying to avoid preferences. For s***s and giggles what are the differences?
OMG my 4.5m old can pincer grip.... Waaaa she's growing up way too fast!
ETA Ok googled this and 4.5 months seems way too soon to be getting this, so maybe its something similar? She definitely just grabbed her teething toy with just her thumb and forefinger - thats pincer isnt it? not just palming it?

Well I know we are going for local stuff. So like let's say I got something at the farmers market but they are "xyz" and can't use it. Would be disappointing.
Ok, I forgot I'm deathly allergic to nuts and buckwheat (random). But I was thinking for the vegan peeps, would hate to send them honey or goat soap or what not.
