I have to be to work in an hour and a half. I contemplated, for a moment, just staying up and going for a run right now.. And then I laughed and laughed. Oh hey, catnap. Sup? I-)
DD woke up at 1:45. I think because she hit her head on the side of her crib. Got her back to sleep and she woke up again at 3, and put herself back to sleep just as DH was getting out of bed (we always wait a couple minutes before going to her). Why does she always wait until we are already getting up? Silly girl.
Day one of new sleep schedule, which requires me to be up with LO at 0630. Blech.
He slept from 6:45 last night until 0630, but woke up four times to nurse. Then after the fourth he kept waking himself up every 30 minutes until I brought him into bed with me.
He starts doing this thing where he is still asleep but shakes his head back and forth until it wakes him up. Ugh!
Dani, be thankful you have a baby that passes out and don't stress the "sposed to" stuff. Or at least that's what I do cause generally Sullivan knocks out the same way.
I put the high chair together yesterday so LO could sit in there at table level while the rest of us were having dinner. She LOVED it. She sat there and talked to us and waved her arms the whole meal. She seems very interested in what we are dong with those forks.
Can they sit in those already? That would make dinner so much easier.
I can't wait until Aiden can sit in the high chair! We just got ours this weekend (Amish built), but DH is taking it back to the store today because I'm picky and there's some flaws in the finish I think need to be addressed.
@ImnAtari, we also have at least 4 convertible seats- one in each of our 3 cars and one for the grandparents. And we'll have to double that when DS switches over. Ugh!
Could you buy a cheap one for SIL to use so you don't have to mess with moving one around? The Cosco scenara is cheap and decently rated. $39 at Walmart.

@ImnAtari my Target has a lot of their convertible car seats on clearance right now at 50% off. Target is bringing in the new season styles right now in baby gear.
I laid G down in a p&p in a quiet room in my parents house while he was awake. He whimpered for a few minutes and then fell asleep! I'm so excited right now!
Also looks like the cottage air isn't getting fixed today, so my sister is coming to get my dogs. My parents won't let them in their house. Viscous fleabags and all.
@PoppySeedWindsor I had a dream about you last night!
We were sitting in a forest of a big park or something, except we were on a couch because apparently we're the cast of Friends in the opening credits. Anywho I was asking you how many times Merri woke to feed and you said 3-4 times and it made me feel better because I was upset that Quinn still woke often.
Then you said you had to leave because you had a cardio boxing class (? Haha) to go to.
Dream Poppy was very supportive and healthy, just so you know.
Dani! I'm so glad Dream Me was supportive. Sitting on a couch in a forest sounds pretty awesome right about now!
And FWIW, I do still nurse her 3-4 at night. So you're doing awesome!
ETA: Me kickboxing would be a RIOT to watch. I'm so uncoordinated.
I just made 2 dozen chocolate chip banana pecan lactation muffins. I don't even care if they work because they taste so good!
Recipe please!
@RedDawnsRevenge I learned how to crochet first, so I might be biased, but I find fixing mistakes is way easier with crocheting. No dropped stitches and it's easy to "back up". That being said, I like knitting better. Also, the book What to Knit When You're Expecting has a good knitted booties pattern. Looks like it's on Ravelry too:https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/time-flies-booties
This is the recipe I used! Nuts are optional but I had chopped pecans on hand so I added those. I didn't have brewers yeast so I added some extra flax. I ordered a can off Amazon so I'll add it in next time I make them. It's a great way to use up overripe bananas!
I finally took a picture of my house and I have to AW! I'm so proud of it and everything it took to get here! After 11 years of repairs and renovations it's really nice to only worry about what color to paint the walls and where to put a couch. And you can all come visit and I'll bake you cakes.
On the odd milk production subject.. Normally my boobs will get full after three hours but when I go to the gym for one hour they get the same amount of fullness. I can pump 9 ounces after one hour and a half of the gym. 8-}

Feeling like the worst mom today. I just want to quit everything. Quit work, quit being a mom, quit being a wife. I'm feeling really selfish and overwhelmed today. It's overwhelming knowing I'm never ever going to get a break. I know Merri needs to sleep but she just freaking won't and it's stressing me out and I don't know what to do about it. I can't touch her anymore today -- can't have her kick or scratch or punch me one more time.
@PoppySeedWindsor, so sorry Merri is giving you grief today. Is there anybody who can hang with her for a couple hours to give you a break? At this point I would just put the baby down and take a break. Have a snack. Have a beer. Let her cry. She'll be fine. Don't forget to take care of yourself!

I'm just defeated and it sucks.
Big hugs, Poppy! Like Dani said, it does get better. When my DD is being horrible it sometimes helps me to look at happy pics of her to remind myself that she's not always a crank

Poppy, I felt that way yesterday too. I've been feeling that way a lot actually. Everyone gave you good advice. I'll just add that you aren't alone in those feelings! Big hugs to you >:D<
So Ps nanny just aske if she could take him swimming with her kids this week cause it's super hot. I had a meltdown, this is just one of many firsts I'm not ok missing. Growing up some of my favorite memories are swimming with my parents. So I've always had that visual of Me doing the "first swim hold" with P. We don't have a pool so I'm going to try and find one so we can go tonight or tomorrow, is that crazy of me???

I'm sorry @PoppySeedWindsor Giant hugs to you. I read your posts every day and you are a wonderful mother and I know you are doing a great job. All of your posts are positive and it's very obvious that you adore Merri and love being her mommy. I felt the same way about 739,673 times in the last 12 years and what I've learned is that if it feels better to cry with her or just put her down and sit outside, you do it. If you need help and there's someone that can help then ask for it. If you could quit, Merri would fire your replacement anyway because nobody could be her mommy better than you.
@mrscrcalli i am the same way my SOs sister was visiting from Hawaii and took Chase swimming without telling me while I was at work. Just sent me a picture when they were done I was so upset take that baby swimming first!!

Nope, not crazy. I wanted to do the first swimming thing so bad, we went to a water park this weekend even though the weather could be sucky, and we only got about 5 minutes of water time in before the weather turned really cruddy, and I told DH we're going again in two weeks so Aiden's 'real' first experience won't be a cruddy one! I also said that we're going to find an indoor pool during the winter so we can take him there and have more fun.
Haha! Sometimes letting her CIO is MY way to self soothe. Gah, she was crying this morning and I was thinking, I'd LOVE to be wrapped up in a blanket floating around in a mamaroo so get over it. And then I took a shower.

Thanks! I live outside of Atlanta. Interior pictures soon, everything is builder beige! I need input, or @dani+california can fly down and help me.
Thanks for the support everyone. Hubster came home for an early lunch and I cried and cried and cried. Feeling a lot better now...sometimes just have to break down to be able to come back up.
He made me lunch (first thing I've been able to eat all day) and is now playing with her.
Had a snooze and woke up to my dog passed out, and one of the cats had worked her way under the sheets with me. Ha!
We have one cat that climbs under the sheets with us all the time - it's quite comical! Usually he buries himself halfway down the mattress but sometimes he looks just like your kitty!
For the ladies wondering why you produce more mill after drinking or working out, I believe it's because both those things cause your body to release oxytocin, and oxytocin i responsible for better letdown. We often use small doses of oxytocin with fresh cows who are too focused on their sore udders to let their milk down.
