G has been awake every 2 hours. Today is also the day the cousins come over all day, so it will be a 3, 2, 1 year old and 3 month old and my mom and me. I wish I liked coffee.
Neighbours with pools + screaming little shits = Very annoyed Danielle.
There's a difference between yelling and jumping in the pool and SCREAMING back and forth between siblings while their parents yell at them to stop running around the pool. I'm glad they think they're the only fucking people on this block that would like to enjoy their backyard this summer...I'm inside and I can hear them clear as day.
I love hearing 'DECLAN! Declan stop it! DECLAN! Leave your sister alone! Cut that out!' *kids shrieking* all day long. Sigh
@dani+california Gah! That sounds like our neighbors except it's their dogs. All I hear is "Mabel! Mabel! Get back here." And her little rat dogs yip constantly. She may have the most annoying voice ever.
@LuckySquare sorry you have to deal with that. I imagine if my brother has kids someday he will be the same way and I don't know I would even deal with that.
@edoliesmom my DH makes my mom nervous all the time. I always have to remind myself that babies are tougher than they look. If he starts getting too rough I just tell him to tone it down. Hopefully it will work for you, too!
Fat, clumsy cat free to a good home. Asshole wigged out for no good reason at 5:30 this morning. Scratched the shit out of my boob, stomach, and both arms, AND woke the baby.
Now two hours later the baby is back sleep, but I need to get ready for work. Also, my boob hurts.
@oopsbaby2 hope your dad is ok-it freaks me out that I know zero numbers without my cell. I just recently made myself memorize DH's. We have been together 4 years... (I am bad with numbers).
@edoliesmom I would just keep reminding him to be more gentle. Honestly, I am guilty of this too myself... Our little boy is a chunky monkey and I will plop him down on the couch or bed and think, "oh shoot he is ONLY 3 months.... Gentle!!"

@edoliesmom I have no advice because my DH is the same way but I'm glad we aren't the only ones that make our baby twerk haha
It was pretty hilarious in the moment. lol He wa singing "Tiny Dancer," but when it got to dancer, he sprang in "twerker" instead and made her start twerking. I laughed so much! It wasn't until he was reenacting it for his mom later that he made her become a bobble head.

Hottest day of the year yesterday here in IL 90ish with high humidity. So what happens? A mom leaves her 6month old in the car while she takes a 1yr old with her into a store. Another shopper called the police and 20 minutes after the police arrive, out she comes from the store. She was arrested. The baby was fine.
I just do not understand this at all...

I know it's only Wednesday, but I feel I need to confess to being judgey of a mom on my oldest DDs softball team.
She's 33 and is pg with her 3rd. Her oldest daughter is 18 and is also pg. Her 12 yr old daughter is the teammate. I didn't realize she was only 33 one day and was going on and on about being AMA and all the testing that's available, etc. I felt like an ass. Anyway. She's a smoker and hasn't tried to reduce her smoking at all. I know it's hard, but cutting back is possible IMO. And she's got GD that she also doesn't try to regulate. She flat out told me that she eats what she wants when she wants. Her baby has been measuring big for months and months. I just hope he's born w/o problems.
And they have a biting dog in the house that bites anyone that comes in. I offered to give her the "donut" we have since LO doesn't like it anymore and how you can put it on the floor and she cuts me off and says her baby won't ever be on the floor because of the mean dog. It's all too much for me! makes me nervous thinking about that baby!
Thanks for letting me get that out. I keep my opinions to myself IRL!
@Ooopsbaby14 judge away on that one. I would judge too! I'm sorry but responsible pet ownership is huge when it comes to kids in the house, and a consistently biting mean dog doesn't get to live with my baby. If she has no interest in training her dog, no interest in trying to quit smoking, or trying to regulate her diet with GD... I'm worried about her kid too! It's one thing to be like, "this stuff isn't easy but we are trying," another entirely to just not give a shit!
I just got called a child abuser on a breastfeeding group I'm a part of on FB because I lightly flick Merri on the arm when she bites me while saying, "No no. Ouchy. That hurts Mommy" in a firm tone.
Really? REALLY!?
Tell me that the woman who said that to me is crazy.

I wouldn't say it's abuse as long as you're not hurting her, but I would say its pointless if you're actually trying to discipline her or get her to stop. I don't think she's old enough to comprehend that yet...

@edoliesmom Definitely not hurting her. I couldn't bring myself to do that! I was told to flick by a mom who just had her second. I agree that IDK if it does anything.
@edoliesmom The bumper carts and the bath wouldn't bother me in the least. Especially if she was in the car seat in the shopping cart. How hard could they possibly be bumping each other?
The bath thing was a while back, shortly after she started getting good neck control, so it also resulted in some bobbling. Thankfully he stopped and never did it again. And the bumper cart thing, I didn't actually see how hard, just heard it. I guess it sounded worse than what it was because he said it wasn't that hard. He's an honest man, so I believe him. I was also already irritated that I was trying to hurry up and get the shopping done before I has to feed her again, and they were being slow pokes. So that probably didn't help my outlook. lol

I didn't have luck with flicking. I would take DD1 off and put her down. Since she is a boobaholic I only had to do that twice before she got the message. But in fairness she didn't bite the boob the feeds her til the top ones started coming in. There's no tongue guard for that.

Totally the same as abuse!!!! I kid I use to try that to get john to not fall asleep during feedings when we were trying to get back to birthweight. Didn't work. Anyway they usually recommend I latching every time they bite waiting a few seconds then relatching.
I used to tickle her neck to get her to wake up to keep eating.

DH just texted me that he called 911 a few minutes ago because there is a screaming baby in a locked car parked outside of Subway... Blows my mind. He said police are there getting baby out and looking for the dad.
Me too. DH saw the dad get out of the car before he knew there was a baby in the backseat. Apparently the guy ran into subway "for a second" to get lunch.

And here I won't even go inside the gas station to pay! If the card reader don't work I go find another gas station. There's no quick second in line at the subway!
@PoppySeedWindsor that's ridiculous. Of course you're not a child abuser. I lightly thumped her cheek when dd bit me, and she never did it again. It didn't really hurt her, just got her attention.

I realize accidents happen, but for the ones that knowlingly do it to kids, babies, pets, and now the elderly (did you all see that story - guy left his mother in a car for 5 hours while he went into a casino to gamble), they should be locked in a car on a hot day for punishment.
That was 15 minutes from my house. So horribly selfish.
MIL thinks the handle on the infant seat has to up while driving. Apparently a friend of the family (a cop in AR, but we live in FL) told her and said you could get a ticket for not having it that way.
I always click it down so I can see A in the mirror. We have a B-safe although she spoke as if this went for all infant seats. She is normally not crazy or I'll informed... This is grand kid #5.
Thoughts?
My baby trend actually says this handle must be down while in the car...

@mamrotu73 I like the ruler idea and the numbers across the top, either would be cute!
Her response when I call to tell her to take the cold wipes out of the package and put them in the warmer: "oh. I didn't realize it worked that way"
Easy answer.
