  • I am addicted to dr. Brown's bottles. I only have 7, but I would have tons if my husband would let me.

I am the same way with these expensive medela ones . Thankfully in not in love with the calma nipples though (22 bucks!)

  • @rockstarlaw‌ how's Baby T? Hope it went well today.
  • I just finished binge watching Hemlock Grove today, and totally didn't realize the end was the end. Dangit! I am running out of shows to watch on Netflix!
  • A-game is still fighting sleep hardcore, this must be leap 4 already (15 weeks). Finally nursed her into a nap, but every time I even shift my butt so it wakes up, she jerks awake. Normally I wouldn't mind the snuggles, but I have a ton of cleaning to get done, and some corn on the cob to clean and freeze before it starts rotting #-o

I tried to get into that show but only made it 2 episodes in. Does it get better?

It gets less R rated teeny bopper show, kind of. The second season is definitely better. It was a guilty pleasure, mostly. That, and once I'm invested, I have to know what happens!

Going blueberry picking tomorrow. What should I make with the berries I pick?

I already have strawberry rhubarb pie and filling for a second. So, suggestions other than more pie please.

    Cobbler? Cheesecake? Jelly/jam/preserves? Yogurt-dipped blueberries?

    Damn, I'm hungry...

  • @mamrotu73‌, blueberry muffins to freeze, blueberry pancakes to freeze, or just lay the berries out on a cookie sheet to freeze and then stick in a ziploc in the freezer to store. Can you tell I'm on a freezer kick? :-)

  • I wish I had the motivation to bake!  I have bananas in the freezer just waiting to be made into banana bread but I am too lazy lately.  DS turning into a light sleeper during nap time doesn't help.  We live in a one-level house with hardwood floors.  Sound travels like crazy, making it difficult to get things done during nap time.  I should probably break down and use some type of white noise near his crib.

  • I just had the loveliest dinner with a dear friend. It was so good to get out and catch up! Especially because Sullivan is still at the stage where the white noise of a busy restaurant puts him to sleep and he doesn't freak out. Having not seen him for a few weeks, she confirmed that um, yes, he's huge and growing too fast. It's soooo fun watching him become a little person who babbles at me and plays with toys and eats all the things he can get his hands on, but slow down, turd!

Also, as much as I never ever ever ever wanna be pregnant or go through newborn phase ever again (I had a nightmare we had another baby and I was so devastated, bc please work), I'm excited for my friends to hurry up and get married and have a baby. I'll listen to all the whining and bitching and I'll bring you cake!

It's been a really rough day with LO and I've just been stressed about a lot of things lately. I'm super annoyed with DH and that makes me sad because he is normally very awesome. Plus I feel like he is really doing the best he can but I just want too much from him. I was talking to him on the phone today on his way home from work and I vented to him about my stresses (which includes him going out of town for a few days, our kitchen reno project we are undertaking right now, DS not gaining enough weight by the peds standards and our need to supplement with formula as of yesterday, his parents booking a baby shower in another state during my ONLY free weekend in August when I specifically asked them not to, his dad undermining me and basically telling DH he can't go to a family event for my side of the family this weekend because he needs my DH to help him fix a pipe at DH's sister's house, because apparently my BIL doesn't know much about plumbing but DH doesn't know anything about that either, DS having multiple inconsolable meltdowns today, my best friend flaking on the bachelorette party I'm throwing her and wanting to reschedule when there is only 3 weeks until her wedding, etc) and he just sits there and says nothing. We sat in silence for 10 minutes, not even kidding. I NEVER vent really so I was kind of surprised he had nothing to say. I finally just said, "well, if you have nothing to say I'm going to hang up now because holding the phone is kind of a waste if we're not talking" and he says, "okay sweetie, see you soon!" All cheery like....at home I brought it up and told him I really needed the support of my husband and he says, "well, I just didn't think there was anything TO say." Thanks...

Sorry for the long vent, I just needed to get it out.

Dexter, Orange is the New Black, Walking Dead, Hemlock Grove, The Office, Once Upon a Time, American Horror Story, Dr. Who, New Girl, House of Cards, ummm... I know I've watched more but can't think of them right now. There's a ton of sit com sort of shows I haven't watched cause I have a real hard time getting into them.

DH: Did you already eat dinner?
Me: No. (Explain what food is in the fridge ready for cooking but I don't want to wake A who is napping on me)
DH: ... Does nothing even though he is clearly hungry and I know he can work a kitchen.

Soooo, guess we won't be eating for a while. :-?

I know this was posted a long time ago but this is seriously my DH.

He used to cook when we first started dating but now if I ask him to cook he makes ramen...

Or he'll sit and starve for hours until he gets low blood sugar angry and complains that there's no dinner so he's just going to bed...
  • I have all the opinions today. Um, maybe someone is a little starved for adult conversation.. :\">

Good luck @poru! We transitioned DD out of her napper and into the big part of her pnp last night and she did great! Hopefully your LO does great too :)

Many hugs @hordol‌. Sometimes DH, sweet as he is can be oblivious like that. I've found that what helps is to give him one clear way to help rather than just venting. For example, I'll say, "DD was really fussy today, I need a half hr down time." Gives him a concrete thing to do and keeps me from killing him :P

@JessieAlbin‌, watch Dr. Who!! Doooo iiiiittt! They just added more episodes to Netflix and the show is still going :) Also, it is awesome.

Hrmmm. Have you tried parks and rec? Sitcom, but like the office (better IMO). Freaks and geeks? Sherlock? Scandal? Grey's anatomy (for some real good crappy tv, that is)? Walking dead?

I think those are the other ones I watch or have watched that you didn't list. Who knew we'd ever have this problem?!

Glad the transition went well @poru! Yikes though, about your daycare teacher. Since you get along with her the best, are you comfortable talking to her about it?

There is no surer way to get my sorry bum out of bed than a projectile vomit from LO. She's cooing happily in her crib, I'm changing the sheets :(

I'm so excited to head to the woods today. I love living in a city, but dammit I need some fresh air. Has anyone gone hiking with LO? If so, do you have any tips? We're taking the Ergo and planning to hike a 2500-footer.

    Some haikus for you:

    Camping with my kid
    organic bug spray smells bad
    s'mores, all of the s'mores

    Here's baby, Nana
She wants to go for a walk
    Mama needs some wine

    Fun sleepover night
    For Nana and the baby
    Oh hi sweet husband...

    don't come a'knockin
when the tent is a rockin'
    mama needs lovin'.

    :)

Love the haikus :) We took LO up Mt. Major in NH on the most humid day ever, so it was pretty sweaty but she did great! My tips:
-The earlier in the day better to avoid the sun/heat.
-If she has a general nap time you can try to go around then, O slept the whole way up the mountain, I fed her on top, and then she happily looked around on the way down.
    -Extra diapers and clothes. Always.

    Have fun!
    Pretty much this.

I'm hoping DS is sitting up on his own by the end of september so I can stick him in our hiking pack for our trip to the Smokeys.
