Anyone flown with babies yet? How about with an 8 or 9 month old? Is that too big to take a short (2 hr) flight with him on my lap?
I can't speak for myself, but when my husband and I went on our mission project to Ukraine, our first layover was in Frankfurt, Germany. There was a couple beside us with twin boys who looked to be about almost 2 who sat on their laps the whole time. I was irritated at times, but now that I'm a mom, I have so much admiration for them! I don't know how they did it... and they were so patient.

I changed my username! I've wanted to from the very beginning but didn't want to go through the hassle of emailing TB about it. When I learned that you can do it through the Knot, I decided it was time. So here I am... This is me now. Previously SLSchuerg.
...Except that it still says SLSchuerg. This is awkward.

6 days until this damn wedding I'm in is over. I'm so annoyed, she's one of my best friends but I doubt our friendship will survive this. She's been unaccomodating since LO was born (no you can't bring your 13 day old breastfed baby to my shower an hour away from your home) and is driving me fucking bananas.
I asked her what time she wants us over Saturday so we could tell DH's parents when to come babysit. This is the 3rd time I've asked her. Her response? 'OMG why does it matter?! Can't Mike just drop him off (at their house) in the morning or something?'
I will cut a bitch.
What's her malfunction? My BFF got married on my EDD with DD1. She wanted me to be in the wedding. I told her no and she excepted it. Good thing since she got married in a dude ranch and had brown taffeta bridesmaids dresses! So 40 wks pregnant I went to the wedding. I got lost. She made them stop and wait for me!

It's those friends that I just say to myself, I can't wait till they have kids. I had a friend with a 5 month old rant on Facebook about how moms let their kids get in the way of their life because they make plans around naps etc. then she says she just takes her baby with her to parties and stuff and her baby naps wherever. In my head I said just wait till that baby is a 2 year old and takes one long nap snack dab in the middle of the day.
I at least try to keep the just waits on my head.
Yep, that's what I keep telling myself. She just doesn't get it, and I can't expect her to fully understand without having any kids herself. But I just would have thought...hoped...that she would TRY to put herself in my shoes instead of acting like my baby is the world's biggest inconvenience. It's pretty insulting when she talks about him like he's a piece of garbage that I should just huck somewhere so we can all go about paying more attention to her.
After being a wedding planner for 5 years I learned that brides are THE most selfish people in the world. They don't care about anything but themselves and their "big day"

I flew with Isla at 4 weeks and it was a breeze. If you can feed during the flight, it goes super fast. I wouldn't worry at all!
Just got home from a flight with my 12 week old and have flown many times with my 2 year old.. DD was great oh my lap until about 1 1/2... Then it got a bit cramped!
AW: Ok, so DH's "mobile" was a major fail. But his new favorite thing is making baby photo props and he's kind of amazing at it. Yesterday, Michaelangelo; today, baby weightlifting. All of this creativity brought to you by the adorbs Tmnt onesies we couldn't live without at Target. I die.
@JessieAlbin Amazeballs! I may steal his idea next time I get bored. I'll share pics if it happens, but I don't think I can match YH's skillz.
I think he was a little embarrassed he couldn't hack it with the mobile, haha. He raided my crafty stuff and slapped several wooden plaques on a dowel, a little paint, and voila! Baby benching. He even painted "100 lbs buff baby" on the side.
Every so often DH digs through the drawers of clothing in bigger sizes and puts LO in something way too big because he likes it. My little dude is currently drowning in an 18mo shirt....

@JessieAlbin uhhh does target still have those onesies?!
We bought them like, two days ago. They had several different ones, this one was a two pack, though. Runner ups included one with a ninja fork thing (DH is judging me hardcore for not knowing what it's called) stabbing pizza.
Well, I went and pissed the kid off. He's napping on me, and I adjusted him to relieve my dying leg.. It took him forever to get comfy on my chest, and then he farted SO loud. Twice. Baby farts are funny and even more so when you aren't supposed to laugh. It's time to wake up and get a bath so we can put you to bed anyhow, kid.
My hairdresser just randomly text me to look into Pyloric Stenosis for Ethan. He doesn't have any of the symptoms at all so I was about to ask her why she suggested it and then she said "He was diagnosed with reflux right?". I'm a little offended. If something was wrong with my baby I wouldn't need her to tell me, especially in a random text. The thing that really bothers me is that my sitter mentions E spits up sometimes and she seems more concerned than I feel like she should be. Babies spit up and that's normal. So now I wonder if they were talking about me like I am not taking care of him because she thinks something is wrong. Am I being way too sensitive?
Because we live in a medical state. People really need, they desire, something to be wrong. Modern society needs to blame something. Forget variations of normal! Ignore them, unless you truly believe something is wrong.
When talking about developmental milestones, do babies get until the end of the month or should they have reached them by the beginning of the month? (I.e. Reaching 3 month milestones by the end of 3 months or on their 3 month birthday)
So I got curious and had to google the Ninja fork weapons...and they are indeed Psis. Except its spelled Sai which is much more Japanese. I'm sure everyone was dying of curiosity too.
Apparently if you fly into Detroit metro airport you can take a free shuttle to the strip club "Landing Strip", there you get "first class" entertainment.
That was the name of the strip club in Friday Night Lights. ~random trivia~

@LolaDair Yeah, when I typed it in the new username thing, I capitalized the first E and M. When I finally saw it on the boards, it was all lowercase. I don't know why it would do that...

First "ladies night" with my girlfriend tonight.. Stopped and got DH his favorite ice cream on the way home.. I missed my dudes so much! But the martinis were devine!
@dani+california, regarding the eczema (sorry about spelling) is it for you or for baby? For me I use an extra emollient cream, I'm partial to the Mary Kay brand, works like a charm.
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...

1) I need these. Yes, I have two girls. Whatevawhatevaidowhatiwant. 2) I'd call the ninja fork things psis, but only because that's what they were called when Raphael had them. I doubt it's correct if they're really a ninja weapon, since ninja = east Asia, and psi is a Greek letter that happens to look like a ninja fork thing.
Not that Fi couldn't totally rock out in any ninja turtle onesie she pleased, but I'm going to need you to get the one with the bright pink tutu. DH and I never lament girl clothes but we considered gender bending for that one. Bright pink tutu ninja turtle goodness. My inner child is wearing the shit out of that.
How is it that this girl weighs 15lb already? DD1 didn't weigh that til she was 6months! DD2 isn't even 3months yet. I had DH get the 6-9 cloths out of the shed, but they are almost all long sleeved! Even inside with the AC it's too hot for sleeves!
Oh, radar says the worst of it will be riding about 15-20 minutes north. So... @fourthnlast, you're up if I remember right...
They are evacuating everyone around us and they set up a call center disaster area. They are talking about shutting of the power grid because there are so many down lines. (

For me personally I have a script for triamcinolone steroidal cream and see good effects from eliminating inflammatory foods from my diet.
For kiddos, I've used Aquaphor on my own LO and have liked the results. A friend posted about this on her Facebook page in the past, so I'll share with you the different things other people suggested. Maybe you'll find something useful!

I just saw slings made out if this today, being sold as water slings. Funny.
