I slept through it! I am sleep deprived from the neighborhood keeping us up with fireworks all weekend. It doesn't look too bad here, is there any damage by you?
I have never been a big fan of lube at all. I feel like it gets sticky and uncomfortable. My OB recommended olive oil. I thought it was really weird because I had never heard of using it for that reason. We did it though and it was way better than any lube I have ever used. It really helped.
Just a note to others. If condoms are your only form of contraception do not use olive oil or any oil based lubes. It will break down the condom and make it ineffective.
Dr sex out.

For me personally I have a script for triamcinolone steroidal cream and see good effects from eliminating inflammatory foods from my diet.
For kiddos, I've used Aquaphor on my own LO and have liked the results. A friend posted about this on her Facebook page in the past, so I'll share with you the different things other people suggested. Maybe you'll find something useful!
*Coconut oil *Cetaphil *Aveeno Baby Eczema *CJ's BUTTer from cjsuniqueboutique.com *Vanicream *Zoeorganics.com (a cream?) *Eucerin cream *Mix together to make your own: Vaseline, vitamin e cream, baby lotion, and triple antibiotic.
Eczema sucks balls, so I wish you luck!
Thanks, it's for me. I get it under my eyes from time to time, so I can't use steroid creams as it thins the skin out over time. Boo! I have cetaphil, I'll try the others!
Ugh I feel your pain. I get it ABOVE my eyes. "No, it's not a new eye shadow. It's just my eczema flakes..." (
My hairdresser just randomly text me to look into Pyloric Stenosis for Ethan. He doesn't have any of the symptoms at all so I was about to ask her why she suggested it and then she said "He was diagnosed with reflux right?". I'm a little offended. If something was wrong with my baby I wouldn't need her to tell me, especially in a random text. The thing that really bothers me is that my sitter mentions E spits up sometimes and she seems more concerned than I feel like she should be. Babies spit up and that's normal. So now I wonder if they were talking about me like I am not taking care of him because she thinks something is wrong. Am I being way too sensitive?
I would be more concerned that your babysitter is airing stuff about your home life/parenting.

AWing my new summer-weight ring sling! Single layer linen, with accent fabric at the rings and making pockets on the tail. Finished it last night, testing it out today!
WE ARE!!!
Omg, I LOVE IT!! I want one.
What kind of linen did you use? I usually get my fabric at Joann's, so it's be sweet if they had something that would work.
I got it all off of Joann's website, actually! It's their sew classics white tissue linen. I'm just mad it didn't come in BEFORE my vacation to state college last month, lol!
Ugh I feel your pain. I get it ABOVE my eyes. "No, it's not a new eye shadow. It's just my eczema flakes..." (
Ugh I get this too, have it right now as a matter of fact. I used to only get eczema spots on my body but since having DD I've started getting it on my eye lids. My usual cleansers and moisturizers aren't working so I'm no help.
My dd is home with grandparents today because she has a fever of 103. LO is at daycare for the first time, apparently crying nonstop. I'm going on almost no sleep since dd was up all night. And since I just came back to work last week I have no sick time to take off with her. Pity party over!

I missed most of the three day weekend since we had PDX friends in town. WOOT WOOOOOOT. Have to brag that I successfully nursed while carrying Merriwether in an Ergo and walking across the Purple People Eater Bridge that spans the Ohio River. Proudest/most bad ass mommy moment yet.
I took LO to visit my Nana this weekend at her nursing home and I have to say it's amazing what a baby can do to lift the spirits of the elderly! I was planning on a quick visit before heading home from my parent's house and it turned into a 2 hour long love fest. It was so sweet to see their faces light up when they realized that there was a baby around! All of the little old ladies were fussing over her and my Nana is so sweet and proud of her.
It's particularly interesting because my Nana is in an advanced dementia ward, so literally every 5 minutes someone would come up and ask about the baby despite meeting her 10 times already. Each time they would exclaim over how sweet she is and tell me about their own children/grandchildren. Love it!!!
ETA: photo (please ignore my derpy self and focus on the cute)
@mamrotu73 that is so annoying! They did that with LO's newborn screening and we had to repeat it. You have ONE JOB, how hard is it to not eff up something as serious as blood work!?

My FIL lives down the st in the dementia home. I feel bad because I don't take the girls to visit. The last time we took DD1 I had to decon her. It was like the walking dead but old people instead of zombies, they were all over her, kissing touching grabbing pinching. She was a year old then. There's now way I'd be able to handle them all over my 12weeker.
We went on a completely spontaneous date last night. No joke. First time using a sitter and I called her at 6:38. We left at 7. DH had apparently gotten offered free tickets to a live music/wine/cheese thing last night, but didn't even think to ask me if we should go. He casually mentioned it at 6:30 and I was like WTF yes I want to go! Find out details!! So he did and we found out it started at 7. So it took me 20 minutes to feed LO (he had eaten like 90 min earlier so only ate on one side), change clothes (me and kiddo), and brush my hair. Sitter arrived and I explained a few things since she's never watched a kid so young (but she's met A a few times and hung out with us) but I didn't feel the need to go overkill since we were going somewhere 3 minutes away. The music was great, lots of singing along and the musician played a game where he gave away 4 CDs- he played a song from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s and the first to yell out the song name won. I won the 90s era (it was "Allstar"- all he had to do was whistle and I nailed it). There was also a comedian who was hilarious. DH and I laughed so hard together at that and our singing skills (specifically to bohemian rhapsody). It was SO good for us! We has to leave early because I got a text from the sitter saying A Wouldn't calm down. Poor guy. We were out the door immediately and were home 5 min after receiving the text. I could hear him crying through the outside door! He stopped the second I took him from the sitter, and about 3 minutes later he let out a huge belch. She had fed him and I'm guessing she didn't pace the feeding- mostly because I neglected to explain that to her because I wasn't sure she would have to feed him. Oh well- it all worked out!
LO has another shot today (I'm spreading them out) and I'm hoping he doesn't end up too miserable, though I'm preparing for the worst. It's the dtap and I know how horrible the tdap made ME feel, so I'm so sad for him. So many snuggles to come for him this evening!!

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of on our first few visits! Thankfully, most of them are in wheelchairs and the ones who weren't kept a good distance from LO- they were surprisingly respectful of her space. I think being outside made me feel slightly less scared of the germs, and none of them were obviously sick, which is great. My Nana was the only one that I'd let hold/kiss her.

@Mamamonzo Uuuumm I didn't realize a tornado touched down right by you last night! I just saw the damage, it is crazy. Thank goodness it didn't hit your street!
First day back at work. So far I've managed to keep it together except for a few tears in the car, helped by the fact that DH did drop off so I didn't have to physically hand her over. Plus I called daycare at lunch and they said she's doing great so that makes me feel better. So far my accomplishments for the day include making my siggy for July's challenge "> and figuring out how to get into the lactation rooms. I feel like every time I try to start working on something it's time to pump again. Oh well, tomorrow's another day. Counting down the minutes until I can leave to pick up the munchkin!
It gets better! I'm on the beginning of week 3 and while I miss her so much I'm not as sad as I was the first week. I'm pumping 3 times a day and while it's tedious it definitely helps the day go by faster. Good luck and good luck to you @mrscrcalli !
I had a dream last night that there was a huge A14 reunion which included a talent show. It was interesting!

Ack, that commercial sounds like me! I did go to college, but didn't finish my degree because it required a study abroad, which I could not do while (unexpectedly) pregnant and then as a SAHM to a preemie. Now it's been so long that I don't think I could even complete that degree anymore (Japanese language)--I'm absolutely out of practice and lost any skill I had in it! When I go back to school I think I'm going to swap my major and minor and just finish that way (Japanese as a minor doesn't require the study abroad). Meh.
Also, I spy a name change!

@LoriMc12 Thank you so much for asking! "Ed-uh-lee" with the emphasis more on the first syllable... kind of. Is that how you've been reading it? I've had so many people think it's either "ee-duh-lie" "ee-doughlee" "ed-uh-lie", or when they say it after I tell them how to say it, they think I'm saying it with an A instead of an E. #-o My daughter's going to hate me later, I'm sure. :P

@fouthnlast I only remember someone doing karaoke and I think it was my SIL who is not an A14-er!
@mom2boxers I have been trying to swaddle with his arms out but he wakes himself up when he stretches his arms then knocks out his paci. I just went back in his room and swaddled his arms in after he woke up for the 3rd time in 30 minutes. Now he is sleeping soundly. I guess I'll try again with the next nap.
