Oh you guys. I just tried to do salt dough prints...total fail Me, the baby, the mamaroo and surrounding areas are covered in flour. I am not good at crafts.
@Emily041285 it's easy if you have a nursing tank. Causally unclip and shift baby so they are more horizontal than vertical. This is me in the dressing room cause I had a normal shirt on and had to lift from the bottom. The other is from michaels! It's awkward the first time, then it just works! @KendraColeslaw it sucks to not be supported by people you would expect. I have a friend who is like, "I just think there should be another option. Like your car or a bathroom" --- I was like, "umm your baby gives you about 15 seconds from hungry to screaming starving. You can't just take 20 minutes to find the perfect setting." My rationale is, people would rather see an inconspicuous NIP or hear a raging baby.
I really really hate those nasty public restroom changing stations soooo gross. DH is a genius and told me to throw a blanket down in the trunk and change the baby in there!
Im Sure we aren't the first parents to think of it, but it's so much better than using the smelly bathrooms! It was a parent level up for us!!!
I am that weirdo that doesn't care if random strangers get a peek of my boobs but am self conscious in front of people I know. So I cover around friends, but not at a shopping mall. But then again I hate my bare breasts (they are fine in a bra) and I don't want the people in my life to learn the big secret that I have ugly boobs.
Im the EXACT same way. Too funny! And for the same reason too.
tortilla chips (no salsa) and chocolate chips for me. Baby and daddy are both "napping" at 7:15 pm. There is no way I'm staying up to put her to bed tonight.
I wipe down the changing tables with a diaper wipe and also throw down my portable changing pad from my diaper bag. And I wipe that too, before sticking it in the bag again.
I do that too, but luke has crazy arms and he touches the sides! I know I need to get over myself he will touch dirty things, but bathroom stuff grosses me out sooo much!
My mom is overly supportive of breast feeding because she never did it for 4 kids and has total mom guilt about it. She said it just wasn't encouraged when we were young like it is now. She always wants to see his latch and stuff she's weird haha she's a nurse too but she's infatuated.
I'll nurse wherever as long as I have a cover. I have one of those Infiniti scarfs that double as a cover it's perfect. I nursed at this craft show and found a picnic bench in a spot where there were less people walking and say there to nurse another mom saw me and sat near me to nurse as well! I felt like a good influence because her baby was having a fit while she searched for somewhere to go
I am another one who feels weird at the idea of nursing around friends but not around strangers. The only friend I have nursed in the company of is like the most extreme crunchy hippie earth mother mama in the world -- I have seen HER boobs a million times -- and I still felt a little weird in front of her! I wish I could get over it.

Yes, I keep a receiving blanket in the back of the van and a little changing pad for quick changes while we're out I HATE those nasty restroom stations, like a breeding ground for who the fuck knows what.

Re nursing in public: before I had dd I thought bebe au laits were heinous and ridic. Now I realize the neckline is awesome and the only way I can nurse dd without flashing serious nip at the world. I still do wish they had solid covers rather than print as I feel it draws more attention.
I have had 2 glasses of wine so I took the plunge and ordered a bunch of cloth diapers from cotton babies. 2 Thirsties wraps, some prefolds, 4 flips, and 4 bumgenius. Hope it works out and saves me some dough.... Errr, I mean saves the earth.
Formula is expensive, so that was the main reason for me to go cloth. It was a little overwhelming at first, but i love it now!
@fourthnlast yes the formula is a part of my baby related financial woes! I knew formula was about $25+ a pop. I just foolishly thought a canister would last longer than a week!
Do you have a sam's or costco near you? I buy the sam's version of enfamil, it's $22 and 3lbs. I opened this can two weeks ago and still not empty yet. The costco price is the same.
I think a sams and a bjs. For now I'm not switching dds formula since she has had some constipation issues. We tried bru brand and similac and she had hard turds only every couple days. Since we've switched to gerber she has been much better. My pedi said to wait til 12 weeks to try switching her formula again.
Similac was hard on E too. I'm pretty sure they have a big Gerber container at sam's too. Not sure on the price though.
Sometimes I read rtt in bed while DH is falling asleep and I'll actually lol and he'll wake up and I pretend I'm having a coughing fit instead of admitting that I woke him up by laughing at internet stranger's jokes.

You can make a solid nursing cover!
My sewing skills are limited to sewing on a button.
@mrscrcalli I'm pretty sure for the next 2 years teething is the answer to all the things. nom nom on fingers = teething, fever = teething, fussing = teething, eating more = teething, eating less = teething, sleeping more = teething, sleeping less = teething, diaper rash = teething, drooling = teething, spit bubbles = teething.
I have a really hard time doing different rhythmic things with both hands simultaneously. I'm trying to gently rub LO's forehead with one hand and rocking the RNP with the other and it keeps getting all messed up.
This is one of my strengths. I wish I could teach you, but it's just one of those thing I do without much thought. My fave is tap eighths notes and triplets at the same time. A good trick to demo around music nerds (I was also my high school's drum major).
My take on NIP: I'd love to do it but still need too many accessories. I'm still too dependant on my boppy, which makes it super awkward. I tried nursing in my ped's office and since she's not long enough to sit on my lap it was like trying to nurse her while she was on a slip n slide. Once I become I dependant of the pillow I think I'll be pretty comfortable. Any tips are welcome!

Pretty silly question...but how do I find a real estate agent to help us find a house??
I found a house we liked on coldwellbanker.com and emailed the listing agent. She wrote me back and asked if there were other houses we wanted to see so I sent her a list and she set the whole day up for us. She is still showing us houses a month later till we find "the one". Good luck!
@dani+california have you received a cheque yet? I' haven't and I filled out the paperwork at the hospital.
I'm missing lots of great topics here! I NIP all the time! Also in the k'tan when I can get her in a good position. Big boobs make it difficult. The first time we got it to work was freaking awesome. Attached it proof of how awesome it was.
And I usually just tell people the boobs coming out if I'm with friends or family and I think it'll make them uncomfortable. I've come to realize that if you don't make it a big deal then no one else does either. I only go hide to nurse if I need a break from people
Got DS to bed before 10!!!!! I got him super milk-drunk. Man, he was WASTED. Celebrated by having loud sex on the couch. We were in bed by 10:45, but I didn't fall asleep until 11:30. DS woke up in the MIDDLE of the night to eat (yay!) instead of at 5am. Hoping DH is able to get him back to bed!

Kiddo, knock it off with this multitasking thing. You're absolute shit at it. GIO/pooping while eating guarantees you are going to choke, over and over, and then you're all pissed off, and then you hate life when I wipe your poopy bum mid feeding because all you wanna do is choke on your bottle.
Sigh. At least his attempt to get it all done in twenty minutes or less gets his little grumpy butt back to sleep faster. You'd never know all that grunting and choking and pooping and crying was happening thirty seconds ago, he's sleeping so soundly!
Why is it so scary when baby actually sleeps for a long amount of time?
@lia619 my DH says stuff like that too and it's so frustrating. He is finally coming around and realized that when I'm exhausted he needs to help especially since he is off work now
@jellysparkles I want to come celebrate Christmas in June. actually I'd prefer thanksgiving... Basically I just want a feast
G is 11 weeks now so last night I planned to have him sleep without his swaddle. He laid in bed, moving around and GIO until midnight when I finally put the swaddle back on because I couldn't sleep. As soon as I laid him back down, he was out. Why do my kids love the swaddle so much?! DS1 would still love being swaddled if I would do it. At bed time he pulls both arms into his shirt.
Crap. I have ran out of diapers in the guest house and the rest of my diapers are in my parents house or in their wash. I grabbed the wrong keys last night when I went to bed and now my keys are in their house. Please wake up soon grandma and grandpa!!
