Those who have mirena. Did your OB have to order it? How long did it take?

No, they must stock them. He debated about putting it in at my 6 week appointment but was worried it would mess up billing/I wanted my husband to be able to drive me if it was as painful as my first one (it wasn't) so I came back the next week.

@mrscrcalli‌ you got a deal, lady. Portland will probs be Cy's first airplane destination; if we can't swing a game, we have to do drinks at least!

I'm in Seattle, can I come?? We love our soccer here too! :)

North Renton, although we say South Bellevue to class it up a little :)
  • Well I feel like a ftm ass. Home by myself again tonight and dd wasn't breathing well and the corner of her lips were purple. DH had me call the triage line and they told me to bring her to the pediatric urgent care. DH rushes to meet me. She cries the whole way over so her color improves. The on call dr was sweet, but you could tell she thought I was silly for bringing her in for a chest cold. I feel like such a noob.

Home from Target. The neighborhood girls swarmed the car and begged to play with Wesley outside. YES PLEASE! Still winning.

I keep meaning to say, I love the name Wesley. But I might be biased - it's the hub's name too :) You don't see it too often, but it's classy!

Thanks! I like that it's not popular, but also not unheard of. He's totally going to be a little prince.

If you don't mind me asking, how was the insertion? It was really painful when I got it before, but I hadn't had kids, and that's supposed to make it a lot easier.

It was so much better than when I got it before having a baby. This time it was no big deal at all. I did feel a little woozy for a minute but it passed quickly and didn't hurt.

  • @Emily041285‌ I probably would have gone to the ER if that happened to my baby too. I didn't know their lips could be purplish from chest colds.

The dr said it was probably because she wasn't breathing clearly and all the crying cleared it a little. She has us doing saline and snot sucking before bed and even told us to put her in the car seat to sleep. You can hear her wheezing a little. I am not good with this part of parenthood yet! I cried the whole way home!
  • Totally got to use my kid to get out of seeing my in laws! DH offered to take him up to see them (just 7 min away) so I could have some alone time. Now if only DS could drive himself so that I could be alone with DH....

Took a 15 min bike ride because that's all I could muster. It's super windy which means super dusty so now I'm wheezing- and I don't have asthma. So much for getting a great workout in. Which, admittedly, I only want to do because DH brought me home a blizzard from DQ after work (yes, a s'more one!) and I can't afford to eat it without working out!!

Oh great tornado warnings... I hate this shi*t! Baby is asleep, putting water, diapers, formula and the car seat into the closet.

    Yikes! T&Ps.

@purespark my OB distracted me with a story and it wasn't painful at all. I felt a little scrape on one side and that was it. I cramped 30 minutes later but not bad. I am still spotting since the 3rd though. Took one week to order.

    Posted too soon!

I would seriously take getting up every 2-3 hours over spending 2-3 hours getting DS to go to sleep for 6 hours. Not kidding. This shit has got to stop. He's barely slept today (20 min, 30 min, 30 min, 10 min) and is wide awake after 2 hours of me and DH (both together and separately) trying to get him to sleep. What The Fuck. I don't care about STTN. I just want him to FALL asleep.
I hear you. My DS only really wakes up once during the night, but it takes me a LONG time to get him to sleep before the first stretch.

@pineconey that's why it's so awful when LOs won't nap. When they don't sleep, they CAN'T sleep. No fun at all.

And THAT is the most frustrating part!!! Most days he will nap (only if I'm holding him) but nights have been awful. We tried keeping him up longer during the day today, but that still didn't work.

  • I've been visiting my family from Austin all week. They just mentioned the tornadoes. T&Ps to you
  • We got 30 minutes out of him. That's it. DH and I are both beyond frustrated and I'm in tears. I hate this.

Bad weather passed through and over us. Weather was pretty bad 5 miles west of us. My poor niece and nephew are visiting from San Antonio to gma & gpa house and when we called they were crying because they were scared. We are all safe though. Thanks for your thoughts guys!

Glad you guys are all safe. I would be scared out of my mind!
  • Does anyone have any tricks to fall asleep? I'm so bad at going back to bed after a MOTN feeding. It's 5:45 and I've been up since 4 trying to get back to bed. It infuriates me because I know I'm wasting time I could be sleeping when LO will likely be up in an hour or less. Kill me!
I get up at 4;30 with SO ( have for years and just havent stopped) so he doesnt have to get up so early for work . I go back to bed around 5 and usually pump and bump for half an hour and I fall back asleep.

  • ((hugs)) @pineconey We had the same problem with Aiden and still do from time to time. He hasn't been napping for beans for half of this week, so he's been a beast once DH and I get home from work, and bedtime has been a friggin joke. It does get better though, I promise!

When Aiden gets like this we try to give him a good long bath to wind him down. It settles him down, and although it doesn't put him to sleep it does make that process easier.

  • @jbug88. I notice that my voice is more "glottal" or throaty. I thought it was from labor and end up with a sore throat almost every evening. I don't think my voice has changed, but I think my vocal folds are damaged from labor and just need rest (haha) to get back to normal. The ends of my sentences have what's called vocal fry and it sounds terrible. That is my self-diagnosis as a speech pathologist.
  • I've been so brutal at keeping up :( leap 2 plus this stupid growth spurt is killing me!
