I am going to scream. Everyone goes on about maternity leave in Canada but they make you jump through rings of fire to get the funds. 

I am still waiting for my maternity leave pay to start. payments should have started at end of april . Of course all the government can say ( and today was the 5th time they told me the exact same thing) is that someone is looking into it and will call me today or tomorrow. 

If this doesnt get resolved by end of the month I ll have to go back to work .

@colleenswerb I'm so sorry about your aunt's accident. I totally missed your post yesterday. It's crazy, a bunch of years ago my aunt was hit by a drunk driver and broke her neck. I was just about to visit her in Minnesota for spring break. It was really scary at the time, but she's totally fine now. Praying for your aunt's recovery. 

PSA: I play the Pandora "sleepytime tunes" channel when LO is going down for a nap. It's mainly lullaby versions of popular music and I love it. You can only listen to Brahms for so long before it gets kind of annoying. Although beware: when a Journey song comes on, it's very hard not to sing the heck along.

Lastly, LO is 10 weeks old today. Hoowww?!

We had our first accident of summer vacation. My 9 year old had a bike accident and mouth took the brunt, she busted her two front teeth which of course are permanent. We have a dentist appt in an hour.

little boy, mommy loves you more than life itself but you need to take a nap for longer than 20 min. that does not qualify in my book. all i was able to do is wash the bottles and have a bowl of cereal. so if you could stop smiling and pass back out, that'd be great! k thanks!!

I'm sure you didn't have any bad intentions posting this, but I don't think it's quite appropriate. Those loss moms are going through something most of us can't even imagine and are posting on TB for support, not to remind us how fortunate we are. I know most of them likely will never read this thread, but we do have loss moms on A14 as well, and it could potentially be hurtful to them to read stuff like that. Just throwing it out there for awareness purposes!

@dani Oh my gosh, my MIL does the same thing! She's always like, "It sounds like she has a tummy ache!" or "It sounds like she's hurting!" I just want to be like, "Don't you think I would know a little better than you about what's wrong with MY baby? :-w" So frustrating.

FFTC: I tell anyone and everyone I'm close to (real life family and friends) my weight. Batteling an eating disorder the whole pregnancy was hard. I've worked my ass of these past 5 weeks with a healthy diet, exercise, and overall mentally telling myself it took 9 months to get this way it's ok to take a whole to get back.

I'm damn proud of my weight and how I look now.

Figured out what to get DH for Father's Day - I mentioned that it'd be nice if we had a mini fridge upstairs since LO's reflux meds have to be refrigerated. DH laughed and jokingly said I should get him one for Father's Day. Little does he know this is going to appear on Sunday (it's really for his desk at work).

Thanks. She surprisingly hasn't been in any pain, not sure if that's good or bad in regards to nerve damage, but we'll see.

Totally feel your pain! I'm amazed at how much I can cram into 30 minutes since E has been born, since that's the extent of her nap time most days.

I think I'm on the midst of the 6-8wk growth spurt and leap two at the same time. This stinks! Hopefully this goes by fast because waking every hour to eat and GIO at night is so not cool. The gas is especially bad at night which makes matters worse. Poor guy.

Canadian here! Service Canada is only supposed to take 28 days to start paying you, so that sucks! Call your local MP. I'm serious. A friend did this and started getting paid two days later when she was having issues...can't hurt to try, and it's better than getting the busy signal on Service Canada's craptacular phone line! Edit - don't forget you have a two week waiting period that serves as a 'deductible' in which you don't get paid at all, so factor that into your waiting time...my work paid mine thankfully!

I'm sorry that you can commiserate. I considered calling MP ( i think its colin carrie ) but isn't today election day? I filed a complaint using some online thing and plan to call again tomorrow. It is just so silly. 

I filed my claim march 28 , submitted ROE in person May 16 and yet they still say they haven't my ROE and keep telling me someone from the processing centre will contact me . No one ever contacts me and so I call them back and they tell me the same shit , someone will contact me today or tomorrow , they have no further information.

Ugh so frustrating especially when they basically tell me the same shit the website tells me.

In other news I am going to dye my very blonde hair brown today I think . Its been blonde for longer than I can remember , probably 15 years and I just dont have time to do my roots every 4 weeks or so with a baby so brown it is !

For me, the naughty toddler. The baby can't help herself.
He tried to dump his milk all over the table so I put him in his room. We were about to eat lunch, but I could.not.deal with him any longer.

I feel like I literally spend all day telling him not to throw things, not to dump his bowl out on the couch, not to dump out his milk and play in it, etc etc etc.

Someone suggested he's doing it for my attention, which I could see except the baby has been great this morning so he got a TON of 1 on 1 time with me this morning. He ate breakfast in my lap!

I love you guys so much. Basically the hospitality industry here is mostly based on tourism. The tourism industry here only thrives during the winter months (since everyone is running from the cold and it’s always hot here). Anyone who works in hospitality is screwed during the summer. My boyfriend is a chef at a fine dining restaurant here that laid him off because it’s so slow. He’s looking for something in the meantime but since it’s slow at just about every restaurant it’ll be a while before he finds something. Because of this I ended up going back to my old job. We’re also looking for a new place to rent because my income alone can’t pay the rent and utilities. I hate this shit. I can’t wait until it gets better.

I have the strangest mommy guilt. Sometimes I feel guilty for keeping my son. I feel like I brought him into the world and I am not doing enough for him. Every time he smiles at me I feel like I don't deserve it... like he'd be better off with a different mommy.

This little guy will not nap.  Yesterday he got about 30 minutes total throughout the day and had a very ugly bedtime at 7.  Today he napped for 30 minutes this morning, but now he's exhausted again and refusing sleep.  Ugh.  I'm about to just start driving and hope that works.

@deidremaria‌ I think the fact that you have guilt means you are a great mommy! If you didn't care, you wouldn't have guilt! I've been where it sounds like you are right now job/housing wise. I really hope it gets better for you. I'd be happy to skip the summer if it'd help! ;-)
