@mamamonzo don't feel guilty for needing alone time. That's a legit need and obviously it isn't being met. Feeling that way also doesn't mean you don't love your LO.
And FWIW, I'd be wicked pissed if my H bitched about being tired after choosing to do something discretionary like that during time he could have spent sleeping. Is your H in a league or something?
I use the word league loosely but yes. It wouldn't be so bad that he goes because I always went an watches and enjoyed being outdoors. But the past two weeks it's rained so the grass is wet and the bugs are insane. No way am I bring Lucas to that mess!
So one of these faces is causing the other. You decide.
This kid MUST be held all the time always. Even wearing him in a wrap in not always suitable. Trying to figure out a daily routine. I feel like I don't know where to start since he won't sleep more than 15 minutes unless I'm holding him. And I don't know what to do with him when he's awake either. We don't have an activity mat and I'm not sure he would like it. Because it would mean I'm not holding him. He can handle his bouncer or his pack and play (has toys dangling as well as a mobile) for about 10 min max.
At least weekly I sincerely ask myself "self, why are you such a moron that you didn't go into the beer/wine/spirits industry straight out of college?" Every week I fail to come up with any answer other than the obvious "because I'm a moron."
If anyone knows of a winery that needs an on-staff attorney, you let me know.
NO don't take my spot. I want to be the wine attorney (maybe we should start a firm!)
I'm in. I said I never wanted to work at a law firm again, but I think I could handle it with this kind of focus. Let's do this!

He obviously needs a puppy. Y U NO GIVE HIM A PUPPY
I should totally get a puppy. Then I'd be ready for when this kid is a toddler and I have LO#2. Good practice, right?

Outside is my secret weapon for baby free arms. Once the deck is in the shade, I plop M down on his quilt and he goes to town staring at the sky while I read. This will hopefully still work when I start my class next month!
Every time DH complains about being tired I want to bitch slap him. Then when he actually is awake with me in the middle of the night I feel guilty that hes not sleeping, yet really glad im not the only one up - way less lonely when we are both up on the crap nights!

Argh!! This is not my day either! Stupid HR lady informed me today that I have to go back to work on the 1st not the 7th like I had planned or I'll be terminated. Since the 4th is a freebie it's literally 3 days we are talking about. Except I have no childcare until the 7th because that's what my boss and I agreed on.
I work outside sales and really wanted to tell this lady, sure, start paying me on the 1st but there is no way in hell I'm leaving this house until the 7th. Thankfully my boss is a mom and when I called her panicked she said she would "either take care of it with HR or we'll go to lunch that day and call it working".

So I was in a wedding in March and there is a whole conversation going about how most of the guests didn't put together there was a pregnant girl in the wedding party. Um what!? Did you just assume that was a beach ball under there? Going to cry in a corner now...
Holy shit, I finally got DS to take a bottle! I had to fight with him for 90 minutes but he finally latched on and glugged. Freedom is near!
But it made me so sad to do it. Afterwards I let him nurse as a reward, and he just looked up at me so intently. Yep, buddy, this is how it's supposed to be.

So this is mean, but whenever DS is having a meltdown, we blow softly on his face, and he goes all stiff for a second. Is this a reflex?
Yes. They teach you to do that before dunking a baby under water if you do swim classes. It makes them gasp and hold their breath. Also a way to get them to take a breath.
Sitter backed out 2 hours before date night.. DH has been out of town most the month and I really really was looking forward to this break.. I'm sitting in the kitchen crying. I just wanted a couple hours.. Ugh so disappointed

I've been walking around in circles at Target for an hour because it's been one of those days. DS2 finally fell asleep and the toddler is contained. Winning (for now).
I'm going to cross post my gross vagina question from Stupid Questions Thread:
I am 8 weeks pp and from what I can feel (I really don't want to look) I still have all of my stitches. I had a small first degree tear and a second degree tear. At my 6 week appointment, my OB said the stitches were almost gone from the first degree tear and she said she cleared out what little was left. The thing is, I can still feel what I think are two sets of stitches and they are completely intact. I know everyone is different, but shouldn't they be gone by now? Am I feeling scar tissue or something like that? I swore I read they would dissolve within a couple of weeks. If I do look down there, what should I be looking for to identify there is a problem?

@dani+california definitely will! My friends have kids but they are all way past the baby stage. I feel like I have to state that I do not reside in the south end
@mrscrcalli sorry about the sitter. Is there somewhere yummy you could go for Dinner with baby ?
Shots scare me also. Dr surprised me and wanted to do Drake's at his appt last week but I was so not prepared and said no. He gets them on the 23rd . So making his father come and go in with him . I can't deal with stuff like that .
I hAte when the kids have to get shots. Like @purespark, Owen only cried for a few seconds. DS1 screams bloody murder when they do the cold swab, and then nothing for the actual needle.
We had steak and potatoes for dinner (DH had asparagus as well, but asparagus hates me so I skipped it). I want to eat all the things in the house right now.
I have exchanged my love for asparagus with a new love of broccolini!
