Giant hugs @deidremaria. Vent if you feel like it, you know we are here for ya.

This. There are no better people to vent to IMO.

  • @mamamonzo we aren't entirely sure yet but there's openings in Flint (yuck), Royal Oak, Livonia, Howell and Groveland. If DH gets the job and his first choice, we'll be heading to the Royal Oak area. You're in northern MI, no?

  • Took me all day, but I did the salt dough thing! I made it into a Christmas ornament (food dyed the dough blue) and just need to buy some fancy white ribbon to tie up top. It's supposed to look like a bell, but apparently I can't cut simple shapes. Oh well, it's done!

Way better than mine would look. Good work!

  • DH and I had a fight about my boobs today. I said they're getting downsized after kids. We've had this discussion before, script:

DH - No way, I won't let you.
    Me - *eyeroll*
    Fin.

But this time, instead of eyerolling, I laid into him that they fucking hurt and I deserve better than to hurt every day. His response was that he'd pay for massages and chiropractors - that I'm worth it. Uh... no. That just says the boobs are worth it. I raged.

    Hjfdhhjiughvdthjjghiugfdyhoigr

    Oh fuck no.
It was some epic foot in mouth shit going on (apparently he thought he was trapped and saying 'the right thing' - ala the whole "do these pants make my butt look big?" kind of thing). He backpedaled and apologized, and we both agreed that the topic was best tabled until we even know if/when we're done with kids/breastfeeding anyway.
We're in the same boat waiting until we're done to decide, except that I want bigger ones. After being a 34B since I was 13, I love my DDs. So unfair to take them away! I would be good with a C though.
  • I'm officially a snot sucking convert.

This was one of my biggest "I'm not going to do that" pre baby. Totally ate my words.
  • Also DH is convinced dd will sleep longer of she stays up till 10 so he won't put her in the swing. (Our foolproof way to get her to sleep) He's out in the living room with her and I'm in the bedroom eating ice cream and watching West Wing reruns.

If he wants to go down with a sinking ship I'm going to let him...

  • What's the salt dough recipe?!

I did equal parts flour, salt and water (Half cup of each). If it's too crumbly, add water. Too slick, add flour. Mix flour and salt first. Knead with hands, roll out on parchment paper. Mine is about 1/4" thick. I pushed lo's foot into it while the dough was on a hard, flat surface (plate) then baked it for 3.5 hrs at 200 degrees. (Bake til it's rock hard)
Thank you! That will be our craft tomorrow!

Did you spray the pan with nonstick stuff?
  • Apparently I missed a lot. @deidremaria‌ and @JessieAlbin‌, I love you girls! Big hugs to you!

  • @mrsstanton87 I put Alva, Sunbaby and Kawaii all in the same group: they usually have super cute prints and they are ridiculously cheap (even more so if you order from a co-op online). They are all made in China, whereas a lot of Mamas prefer to stick to made in the USA or WAHM brands, although they are great for building a stash on a tight budget. I've tried all 3 and they all worked/fit fine, but they are quite a bit bulkier than the brands I prefer to use, which are a bit more expensive. I also don't think they hold up as long, which is OK for 1 kid, but if you plan to use your diapers for several kids, then you would probably need to buy more.
  • Holy crap, kid, stop eating so much! How are you even getting any milk? You've oinked it all down in the last couple hours! (Exaggeration, I know boobs make milk continuously. XD)

@JessieAlbin Girl, you said it yourself: you are a WAY different person than you were when you were there. Going back doesn't mean you have to GO BACK. You are different, better, stronger than you were, and I believe you have the inner strength and outer support not to revert. Going back to a place where people have an image of who you were is hard. But you are Jessie freakin Albin, and you let no one define you but you and The Lord. If it's the best thing for you to move, you got this, girl. I'll be praying you two make the best choice for your family, and I know you'll be great no matter where you are.

  • I can't read those stories without bawling my eyes out. They also make me want to go wake up my kids and give them all the hugs!

  • @soultermination - random: for some reason the first time I read your name, I read it as Soul Train (tired much?) and then it made me start singing "C'Mon Ride the Train" and now I always think of that song when you post, so the song gets stuck in my head and I frequently sing it to LO.
  • I hate my dog so much right now. Was stretching loudly, shaking entire body and being the noisiest water drinker right beside George necessary at 2:40am? Apparently it was and George woke up.
I can't wait until I'm back with DH and we have our own place again. My parents guest cottage is less than 500 sq ft and one bedroom. DS1 sleeps in the bedroom and I sleep in the living room on a sectional couch that is actually 2 twin beds. DS2 only options are to sleep in RnP beside me or sleep in the kitchen. It's awesome financially to not pay rent or utilities, but I might lose my mind soon.
  • Sullivan just slept a solid five hours, and this tension headache I went to sleep with is still here so I don't even feel like a million bucks! Robbed. I spose it would be worse if he had been up twice already. Please accept this full bottle and diaper change as a token of mom's appreciation, kiddo.

@BiggerinRealLife‌ that was exactly what I needed to hear. PPH you!! :x

we've started taking our dog's collar off at night so he wouldn't wake up the baby by shaking and rattling his tags. His ears still make noise but it's helped.

Oh this is me. I've been taking the collar off as well but the ears and stretching still make quote a bit of noise. I feel like a terrible pet parent because I get mad at my pup when she wakes LO. She's not even doing anything wrong, just being her happy self.

  • Driving to Cleveland today (pre-baby about a 6 hr trip) and LO hasn't pooped in 3 days. I am praying she doesn't have an epic blowout in the car.

  • CD mommies.. have any of you used Alvababy.com? A friend recommended it but not sure about the quality. But I mean, you can't beat the price!
