Just found a hair salon I'm in love with! My hair looks, smells and feels amazing! I'm making my husband take me out tonight, but we needed to celebrate for his new job anyway. It's been almost a year since I've gotten a really good haircut.

Most kids who choose to suck fingers are thumb suckers or suck their ring and middle fingers (I was a ring and middle finger sucker). Of course I get the kid who sucks his index finger

@Jessieann1020 I'm in a call center too that was my day yesterday. My issue is were all incoming calls. I didn't call you dick head you called me.. I feel your pain!

Come home from work and have to whip out the boob and watch some Dora. Some day I'll get some shit done.. Don't get to change out of my work clothes!

Swerb, thoughts and prayers to your aunt! How awful.

Ladies, I'm struggling, and I feel like an ass for it. Hubs went to Michigan to start the process of pursuing a much better job than either one of us has, and it looks like he has gone from "on the fence" about moving there to "this is the best choice for us." He'll be home tomorrow (he's been gone a whopping day and I miss him so much, can't wait!), and I am so torn. I know the better job will be good for us, and I'm being a brat, but I don't wanna move!! Really trying to focus more on the pros than the cons (good insurance, job security, hubs feeling good about his job and providing for us, our families are there, etc), and I really don't wanna be a wet blanket about this because I know he's trying hard to do what's best for us, and he's right about his reasoning. I'm a totally different person than when I left there and in a totally different place so I probably won't hate life there as much as I did years ago, but I'm dreading it.

I can't remember who posted a few pages back (and I'm too lazy to look), but I'll get up on my soapbox and say please please please don't forward face your child at 1 year. It is the law in most states, but there is gaboodles of data supporting extended rear-facing. Even the AAP is recommending rear-facing until 2. My kids will rear-face until they reach the limit in our car seats, which is 45lbs. 1 year olds are still very susceptible to neck/back injuries when forward-facing. Hopefully the law will catch up. *steps off soapbox*

Negative. Pre-preg yes. Now- they are tiger striped with purple stretchmarks and nipples the size of salamis. Terrifying to say the least.

No perfect porn star tits here either. Pregnancy was a lot like junior high for me: "my boobs are coming, my boobs are coming! Wait, are they really coming? Maybe they are just late.. Whelp, I guess they aren't coming." I gained fifty pounds and my boobs barely grew at all! They haven't deflated yet, but I wouldn't put it past them.

No advice here since I'm struggling with the same thing, but all the hugs. It's rough right now. I hear it gets easier, but I'm not sure I believe it right now.

Yikes, that sounds horrible!  If it is that bad, I usually try to comfort DS first and get him reading a book or watching a movie or Sprout, then move on to DD.  Since DS is older he tends to be a bit easier to comfort and then distract, once he's taken care of then I'll move on to DD, who can take a bit longer since she can't tell me what is wrong.

If DD is screaming and crying, she is breathing.

I hope you never have to face that again and that your DS is feeling better soon.

I am so frustrated with breastfeeding. I know this is well-known around these parts, but for something so "natural", this is HARD!! I am too stuborn to quit, but boy have I thought about it....

I hear you on that one. It takes DH 10x longer to do a diaper change. He frequently gets peed on for leaving DS out in the open too long though, so I figure that's punishment enough.

I can totally understand your frustration, but it will be worth it in the end if you can restrain yourself.  You will have more time to yourself and DH will get a chance to bond with your LO.

@dani+California I struggle with wanting to take over too. I never have but lately I noticed that if Dylan is fussy with me my bf tries to take over and I get SUPER offended and pissy. Maybe I'm just too sensitive

Sometimes I look at pictures I've taken of my LO and think "that looks nothing like my child." Where do these faces come from? I swear in real life she looks nowhere near as crazy...

@imnatari I'm really late to respond, but we swaddle with the blanket oriented and folded like a kite. Gives me more fabric to get a really good tuck. We also pull the lower fabric outwards as we tuck the tails in, so it stays tucked really tightly. I orient her so the wrap starts just above her shoulders, and wrap angled down instead of straight across so it wraps over the shoulders and stays. Any extra fabric around her neck I roll under so it stays away from her mouth. I feel like I'm not explaining this well. If it doesn't make sense I can take pics or you can FaceTime me. Also, thanks to @littlelady77 we love love love the miracle blanket. It's the only swaddle she takes and doesn't break out if besides AA. It's easier for reswaddling MOTN, so we use AA more during the day or as stroller/bouncy/swing blankets. They are still my most useful buy though. A million uses.

@mamamonzo we aren't entirely sure yet but there's openings in Flint (yuck), Royal Oak, Livonia, Howell and Groveland. If DH gets the job and his first choice, we'll be heading to the Royal Oak area. You're in northern MI, no?

I rear-faced dd til around 18 months. We did turn her for a couple of road trips prior to that, so she could see the tv screens in the seat backs and so I could see her. I'm the only person I know IRL who didn't immediately turn the seat at 1 yr (the law here is 1 yr and 20 lbs).
It I kept her RF til she was 45 lbs, she'd be in middle school. Ha! She's almost 3 and 27.5 lbs.
