I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop... Aiden went to bed on time, did a dream feed at 10:45, woke up at 2:30 to eat, woke up an hour early like always and had to be put back down. Now he's napping during his first scheduled nap time. I'm afraid - this is going too well!
I think Quinn is part falcon. He won't stop scratching his face! I've cut his nails and everything, I have no clue how he does this.
Woke up to that this morning after he worked his right arm free from the swaddle. Great.
@dani+california my lo did the same thing until about a week ago. He wore mittens for the first month . Now his nails are a bit harder and it's easier . I trim them every four days and file them after I trim them and in between trimmings. I found it didn't really matte though the first month cause his nails were so soft they scratched easily. Now they are harder and he hasn't scratched himself since If it makes you feel any better out of the dozen scratches he gave himself they all healed quickly and left no mark. Also found mittens that didn't look girly at the bay at the o.c
finally got derrick down at almost 3am. woke back up at 6am. forgot that maintenance is coming to inspect the windows today at any time between 9-5. oh, that's cool. i guess i didn't want that nap. now i get to move all the furniture away from my windows with a fussy kid. ohhhh yea, we are shutting the water off from 10-5. hope you don't need it. fucking assholes
let's add some lawn care into the mix. why not cause my allergies to flare up making it hard to breathe? i swear i'm gonna hurt someone before this day is over. someone talk me down! ugh... i'm so cranky i can't fucking stand it and just wanna cry
Caught up on a couple hundred posts, here's my life:
Worked a double on the farm, meaning 12:30 am- 6am and 12pm-5:30 pm, didn't sleep before the night shift and took a sort of two hour nap before the afternoon shift. Had an AWFUL sore throat, like takes a significant effort to even swallow. BUT it worked out pretty well!
Super mom moment: My mother was babysitting and when I got out of the shower, she was changing LO's diaper and she was screaming bloody murder. So I walk in and say "Grandma you're doing it wrong, you have to say good morning to her!" And I start doing my "Good morning baby girl" routine and she instantly stopped crying and started gummy smiling like a loon. Made me so happy.
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
Sooooo Aston Kutcher must be in my house waiting to pop out and punk me.. LO slept 5 hours then ate efficiently for 30 min went back to sleep for 4, and then I woke up to DH bringing me breakfast and coffee in bed! [-O<

Does anyone else's LO get a purple strip on their forehead when they're squeezing to fart/poop? I can only assume it has to do with his skull not being fused yet, but I was hoping it would go away by now..
Couldn't it just be a vein in their forehead from straining?
February Siggy Challenge: Favorite TV couple ~ Jim & Pam
Finally caught up from missing yesterday (seriously, 200 posts in one day? Nicely done ladies).
There's no way Deidre is a troll. She's too freaking awesome.
Uhm...what else? Mamas with mastitis and ouchy boobs -- start on marshmallow root! It'll help stave off mastitis from occurring or reoccurring.
Has anyone tried tummy massages for gassy babies? It might be something we could all experiment with.
LOVE the youtube vid of the moby wrap with legs out.
Annnd oh...baby calls. <3s to you all!
I tried a tummy massage last night (we were so desperate for the poor guy!) And he got even more pissed. I wonder if I was doing it wrong?
I'm not sure how to do the tummy massage either. Maybe this is worthy of its own thread?
I have the microwaveable breast pads from lansinoh, we heat one of those for about 10 sec, then put it on her on top of it laying her in our hand. no massage but the heat and pressure helps ALOT (nurse at the hospital showed us that trick)

DS1 and I went on a beach date this morning. He loved it! My parents only live 2 blocks from the beach, so I really should be going more while I'm here. I hate sand though.
Thanks sorry you can commiserate .I used the big bissell pet one this morning on the couch Poor guy is just out of control from the medication . Waiting on a call back from vet as I think dosage is too high .
@poppyseedwindsor a stork bite is the name given to the birthmarks that appear on the forehead and or back of the neck that typically fade and disappear overtime. they are in the spots where a stork would grab them to deliver them.
@mrsstanton87 hmm I have no idea then. I don't think there would be a plate right there but I have no idea about baby anatomy... when is his next pedi appt? It is probably nothing but I would still mention it.

@MrsStanton87 B has a stork bite on her forehead, but when she turns red from crying or straining, it looks like she has a purple bruise/knot on her forehead. It freaked me out, but it goes away when she is relaxed
My dd and I just set up her baby pool in the yard. She can't wait to play in it, but it's frickin freezing. She doesn't want to wait for it to warm up.... I may have to add some boiling water to speed up the process! Aaaaaand now she's standing in her window, overlooking her pool, and barking at it. Life with a toddler is awesome and hilarious about 95% of the time. She's such a goof!

Stupid parents drive me insane! In sure you all have seen on fb how the "nap nanny" that got recalled in 2013 was responsible for the death of an 8 month old recently. Well a friend from college posted this then and now picture of his daughter in a nap nanny! And when someone points out that it has been recalled, both him and his wife say "oh we know. Someone told us we had to have one so we found it at a garage sale...hahaha"
Seriously?!?! I will never understand how a parent can knowingly put their child at risk...
Holy catch up! I made it through 377 posts while feeding LO haha!
We've been busy with our 6 week growth spurt over here. I had to add in two more pumps a day to keep him happy. My boobs need to get with the program!
James has decided he wants to be an overachiever and is now pushing up on his elbows during tummy time. All the grandparents are super impressed and think it shows how smart he is. Jokes on them though, because DH and I know he only learned to do it during burping. We burp over the shoulder mid-feed and he hates it. So a week or two ago, he discovered if he pushes away from us that we'll stop the dreaded burp and give him more food. Early milestones my ass!
the My Brest Friend pillow is so convenient for so may things! Currently using it to prop my iPad up while I Bump on the couch & LO is fast asleep in the PNP. Too weird to wear this little pillow shelf around all of the time?
After being gone all weekend and pissing me off when he finally got home last night, DH just texted to say he canceled the rest of his day (can't fly in a thunderstorm) and is coming home early.
1) I gave him the grocery list so I don't have to stop when I pick up my sister tomorrow.
2) I'm putting him in charge while I drink, soak in the tub, and then nap as soon as he gets home. I'm gonna go pump in anticipation of my afternoon break!
Of course, this is happening on a good day for A. He's been napping most of the morning and played in his baby gym the rest of the time (except while nursing).
This sounds like an amazing afternoon!!! I hope you get to enjoy it!!
Wonder weeks, growth spurts...what the fuck ever. Emma must be doing both of these every week of her life. She's always cranky, always hungry and hates to sleep with a fiery passion. If one more person suggests EASY to me, I will rip their fucking heads off. The concept sounds great, but who's going to keep this kid sleeping? I look at all of the naps on the sample EASY plan and just laugh. Emma has never slept that much during the day in her whole life. She may nap that long in a week, never a day.

Sometimes I don't take it off after feeding LO and I set my plate on it to eat. Easier to balance than my lap!
@fourthnlast that totally stinks for you! I've noticed Olivia seems to go through the growth spurt and then the leap so it seems like we have a bunch of crappy days as well.
I hope Emma takes a nap for you soon. Or you can get a break somehow.
does anyone elses baby do this thing where they are sound asleep and that let out one really loud scream while still sleeping? it last like 5 seconds and then its back to peaceful sleep. its the weirdest thing. i feel like i should do something but before i can its over.
Yes... And it freaks me out! Makes me sad like she has nightmares or something... But what does a baby have nightmares about. Not being able to find mom? Moms boobs disappearing?

Or I noticed LO had green poops when I ate coco puffs... So could be a diet thing. Did you have a recent change in diet?

I'm probably over analyzing.
