I'm a masochist apparently. Watching Up with no Kleenex and no ice cream.
Oh god, been there! For hubster and me, "Up" is "our" movie (For his wedding present to me he made 'Our Adventure Book' and we both ended up giving each other grape soda pins that we wore on on our wedding day). We watched Up at about 2 weeks pp. We both just baaaaaaaaaawled. Hubster even ugy cried.
Just to make sure, I shouldn't be worried that LO is sleeping so much for 1 day right? He has had normal diapers and no fever. I just don't think I have seen him sleep this hard since he was a newborn.
Tommy sleeps that hard at the end of growth spurts
Merri did this on Friday (4 back-to-back 4 hour sleep sessions). Like aviola said, post growth spurt. I also was worried but she's totes fine. Hope you enjoyed the R&R!
If the woober (pacifier) falls...what do you all do with it before giving it back to your LO? Wipe it off? Blow it off? Rinse it off? Or do the whole sanitize it before even thinking about putting it back in LO's mouth?
Just curious to see how OCD I am (and should be?)...

Depends on where it was dropped. I probably would wash it in store bathroom quickly.
At home I'd probably wipe suck on it myself or give it a quick rinse unless my floors are really dirty.
LO won't take a pacifier though. So not speaking from experience

I look closely and blow if it's not dirty. If it falls in an area where there is dog hair I will give it a quick rinse. I sanitize like every 2-3 days. (We also have 4-5 that we cycle through so she gets a fresh one every like 12 hours)
Thanks for the input! We have two cats so if it falls on our rug in the TV room I usually rinse it, at the very least, because LORD KNOWS what's in that rug. We have 4 in cycle too and I sanitize them all twice a week (I make hard boiled eggs at the same time...no, not in the same pot!). My mom told me I'm doing her wrong because I don't sanitize it every time it falls.

Depends on where it falls. If it falls on her or in the carseat/bassinet somewhere only she has been just put it back in. If it falls on the bed or couch I stick it in my mouth then back in hers. Somewhere in the home that's probably not that dirty I have some paci wipes. Out and about I being a back up and will run it under some kureig hot water when we get home.

Probably a stupid question: But it's okay to put in your mouth and then hers/his? What's the/your thought behind this? (Also, I apologize if this should be a separate thread)
Nursing in public win at the park... And look how adorable DSD is I have too many friends at the beach too but I love these munchkins more then anything
DD loves her play mat. It was a hand me down from my SIL so it's just the mat with random toys I added. At target last night I noticed there were fancier options. Are play mats the best thing for my 7 week old or are there other options? I have a bunch of gift cards to use up and thought maybe this would be a good option.

My nuggets LOVE their play mat. It can keep their attention longer than any other toy right now... At least while awake.
Just checking in and catching up! Here's what we've been busy doing. Concert tomorrow...Anders is a champ!! (DH and I are both involved in the concert, so, that's why we're all there) He really loves this one piece that's like a music box. Here he is enjoying it...
Thanks @purespark and @poppyseedwindsor that's what I thought! I've been using the same cover and a new trifold up to 4 times (less if the poop gets in the diaper, but I might just wipe it off like you Poppy ). I ask because DH said that's gross, but if I'm using a new diaper inside each time, I don't see the big deal? Maybe I'll do what you do, Purespark, and rotate them so they don't get smelly.
Hubster changes her obviously reusable CDs every time too and it's frustrating because that means I have to do laundry more often than I normally would (as though half a day is REALLY that much of a difference than a full day...) i love the flips and want to get more/wish I had gotten more of those. We only have 2 and the rest are ALVA (laaaaame chinese BS product) or the pre-folds. I usually do prefolds during the day because I'm home with her and can change her when she soils them since they don't stand a chance against anything. LOVE the Flips for night and/or going out!
I just remembered that I have a Flip cover I haven't tried on Cy yet. I'm disproportionately excited about this. How big are your LOs, MrsStanton and Poppy? I think Cy is about 12 pounds, it should fit, right?
DS has been wearing the flip covers since around 9lbs. I just have them on the bottom set of buttons
Okay sooo I'm buttoned to the smallest setting on the vertical buttons (I apologize, both are in her "I shit a ton" bin right now). With the width I think I have two buttons showing.
I can reply again after tomorrow or on Tuesday am when I wash them again. Merri is probably around 10 pounds now. We've been wearing CDs since birth at 8'15.
I hate when my bf says "he can't possibly be hungry." Just because I fed him 45 minutes ago does NOT mean he's not hungry. Fucking fuck face!
I can't decide if I'd rather hear that or, "Hey mom, I think she's hungry again."
Either way. Dads = dumbfucks
I get the feeling that he thinks I just always wanna pop my boob in the little one's mouth any time he cries. It's really annoying. Like seriously, dude do you really think I want a baby hanging off my tit all day???
We are having a family cookout. I had Daniel in my k'tan and my brother asked to hold him so I let my brother hold him. Daniel started fussing so I took him back and he showed signs of hunger. As I am getting up to nurse him FIL takes him. I say he is hungry and FIL replies I haven't held him all day. Daniel starts rooting and crying, I tell my dad I'm upset towitch he replies its ok to let them cry. WTAF! I took him back ran upstairs and fought with Daniel for 10 minutes to latch. I haven't decided if we will return to the party...
Are you fucking kidding me? That's so ridiculous and annoying!
Anyone else's LO's fuss/twitch themselves awake when you first put them down for the night? We swaddle Aiden, but he still wakes himself up after we put him down when he's asleep. Any tricks to help remedy this?
DH asked if he'd fussed since he came back downstairs, and I said no, nothing on the monitor. DH then proceeded to tell me when he hasn't heard Aiden in a while, he sometimes goes and pokes him gently to make sure he's still alive. Dear god we've been conditioned to expect the fussing!
@purespark@Eireyes I find that when I stand up with my sleeping babe if I Bend all the way over with her still pressed to me until she is horizontal and then lay her down there is a better chance that she wot startle awake.

That's what I do and then I leave my hands on her for a minute. It works most of the time. Of course, nothing seems to be working tonight
Really loving my MIL for getting us that glider. DS' witching hour has been especially witchy tonight, and the only thing that will calm him down is consistent gliding and shushing. He's finally passed out #:-S
Awesome! Our glider is a lifesaver... My mom bought us a nice one for our shower and I love it sooo much!

LO starts rooting. Oh she isn't hubgry she must just have gas...
Nope... She wants to nurse more so I'm going to nurse her...
Then having people say, "aw! I want twins! We want to do IVF so we get some..." Makes me rage.
