Poor baby is cluster feeding but I had to go pick DH up from work which was a two hour drive. That did not mesh with her schedule so she cried so much singing helped a little.
The awkward moment when you are mid feed and the maintenance guy shows up to fix the AC. Baby was not happy that she had to stop eating for a few minutes
Does the Hep B Vax make the baby sleepy? DD had hers today and has literally only been awake long enough to eat all day. She is 1 month old yesterday. I'm worried we will be up all night
Ugh as of yesterday afternoon...I have had the most painful bowel movement....it fn burns...never felt pain like that...my suspicion is that it's a hemorrhoid....am I right? Haven't had any spicy food and that I can recal I have not been straining to go...so what gives? Hope it goes away soon....I'm 3 weeks pp so I'm in shock it has happened. Also I'm taking stool softner to avoid this so I don't know....thanks for listening and thanks to those who reply
@PoppySeedWindsor Oh my dear, all the love to you, friend. I'm praying for you, Merri, and your husband. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Please call the work people. You're not choosing to mix work and home, he's leaving you without good options. Anxiety is such a cruel taskmistress. I'm sure he'll come home to you when he gets his head straight. You can do this, Mama. But I'm sorry you have to.

I'm a hot crying mess tonight. Last night was rough, and today hasn't been that great either. LO is only doing one sided feedings today. She won't eat from the second side, and then I worry she's not getting enough. Then she gets really worked up and acts like she is hungry, but refuses to latch for more than a few seconds without throwing herself back and unlatching. DH finally just had to take her from me as I was in tears because she was refusing to eat, and now she's passed out. I just feel so helpless sometimes
When your LOs cluster feed are some of the sessions really short like only 5 minutes long?
Is my baby just using me as a pacifier?
Sometimes 5 minutes is all I can get out of little dude before he passes out. I can tell the difference between actual nursing and human pacifier by the strength of the latch. Actual nursing is strong and rhythmic; comfort sucking involves a bunch of very quick/weak series of sucks separated by pauses.

Poor Aiden has a hidden talent: twice today he has burped and shot milk out of his nose... I really ought to take a photo next time it happens, it's pathetic and kinda funny all at once...
Hey, thanks! I've been lurking while I nurse mostly. I've been crazy busy with two kids now instead of one, but loving life. Daniel is amazing. He was one month old yesterday and we all love him so much. I'm glad to hear most of you guys are doing okay. Hugs for all that are struggling.
We decided today that at two weeks pp, if my milk hasn't come in yet, it's not going to. What a relief to pack up that awful pump, give in to formula feeding and just comfort nurse when he needs it. Even better, I get to go to sleep knowing that I can get up just when kiddo needs fed/changed, and not be up an extra 30-45 minutes pumping. It's hard letting go of the plans I had for motherhood, but this is going to make life much, much easier.
@purespark I loved your post out of solidarity. Glad to know I'm not alone! I finally got this tired girl to nurse in side lie position (praise The Lord!) and now it's off to bed. The bath I had planned for tonight will have to wait until tomorrow

@michaelad3 my LO does that during his witching hour. It's torturous for both of us, I think.
This sounds like gas/colic. Maybe try gripe water (we swear by Colic Calm), and bicycling legs/doing constipation/gas exercises to see if you can help move any gas out - Evie farts like a grown man when I do those exercises (I hold the backs of her thighs so her knees are up to her chest, and roll her hips up and around in circles, then roll her bottom up and press a little on her tummy with her legs, etc - she actually enjoys it) - it sounds like I'm deflating a whoopee cushion. Especially if they're only feeding 5 minutes at a time, they're only getting foremilk and not much (if any) hindmilk, which can aid in making them even gassier. Also try making sure baby is lying mostly on her left side when eating, and propped up slightly.
My DS was really colicky and had reflux, so all the things I mentioned above I had read during my research, and they all worked for us...Hope they help you too!
My husband and I are out of town right now and are staying with a couple we know from church. They were meeting baby girl for the first time and wanted to hold her. The lady held her for about 10 minutes or so, and then her husband wanted to hold her. She started getting fussy, so he tried giving her her paci. Sometimes she doesn't want it and will gag because of it. Well, that's what she did with him, and he didn't get the hint I guess. He kept trying to give it to her and made her projectile spit up which she's never done before. ( :-L It made me mad and upset at the same time. I kept my composure though because I knew she'd be okay and that he didn't mean to. I dunno... I would just think someone would have more common sense than that!

Eliza has been awake for 2 hours, is a mess on the boob, and I'm beat. The only good thing is that DH had her earlier and I crashed out for about 3 hours.
Hi there! We've been awake a while here, too. Cora is marathon pooping and it's a farty, grunty ordeal.
I. Can't. Stay. Awake. And Z won't go to sleep; just wants to eat (or rather comfort suck) for days.
I feel your pain. Cora wants more boob after diaper changes even if she isn't hungry, so this poopfest has been lots of fun. I hope we all get some sleep soon.
I don't know how you single moms, moms of multiples, and moms who function as single moms (for whatever reason) do it. I'm insanely thankful for my husband these days- I could not do this without him. He's been incredible. Big hugs to those who don't have a great support system- you are so strong.

Hey ladies! Sorry I've been so MIA (if anyone has noticed). I've been completely preoccupied with my crash-course in mothering, which I could not love any more than I already do. My little guy is a joy. And he's hella handsome. This is him on his first trip to the pediatrician yesterday....he was up 2.7 ounces from leaving the hospital weight!! (As my sore nipples can attest to)

The gas guy came to check on our meter while I was nursing, I just said hello and he ran downstairs with DH. I lol'd.

MIL told DH that she wanted to come bring us food since I had surgery. Today she told him they won't be here until 6-7 and they aren't bringing food but maybe another time. WTF? Another time I won't have just had surgery. Don't offer if you aren't going to do it!
Omg. People, I swear!! You should arrange to have pizza delivered while they are there, just to make a point!
You can arrange it online! You do not even need to call now [-X

And for anyone concerned, we pulled the chest piece down to see the bow-tie better for the picture, which was not taken in the car. I know the chest piece goes higher on his chest when riding ☺️

Thanks! His dad and I laugh and say he looks like he's in a commercial for jerry curl hair product.
