BF in public for the first time today too! We were at the river at some boat races and I did it right in my camping chair right in the middle of the crowd!
I'm getting emotional today and I probably will be for the next week. DS1,DS2 and I leave for FL in a week and DH leaves for training and we won't all be together again until end Sept/early Oct. Micah's (2 years old) life revolves around Daddy and G will be so big when DH is back with us!! I'm use to being apart from DH, but I hate it for the boys and him. DH might be able to visit a weekend or so, but we have no idea. This month has gone to fast, I'm not ready to move yet. And a pic of 2 of my boys...
Awwww, that sucks @Tferr02 I hope DH will get to visit.
I made ground beef to put into a meaty ziti with the sauce I made (I used the immersion blender so DH should be satisfied with it, asshole). But the smell of the ground beef is turning my stomach.
How long will you ladies wait to take your babies out into the world (to the store, walks downtown etc)?
We've already taken her out twice, and she's 5 days old today. I've always kept her in the car seat and covered though, and we haven't stayed out longer than 3 hours.

It's been almost 3 weeks, but with the DH going back to work on Monday, and 3 older kids, our little bubble is about to pop and I will be taking her out and about.
Not sure if this is normal or not- so please weigh in Emma slept pretty well last night, about 3-4 hour stretches, then woke up around 9; ate and stayed awake until Noon. Then she ate and crashed hard until 2:45, woke up to eat again and was back asleep by 3:30, so she's been asleep 2 hours. Normally she's a total crank ass all afternoon and fights naps, like maybe 20-30 minutes before waking up and then the cycle starts all over. I honestly can't remember what it was like with the older 3, is this pretty normal? I'm now wondering if I should wake her to feed, which is also something we haven't had to do because she hasn't slept in long stretches.
I totally looked on like day two. Was so swollen still. But then looked a few days later and it looked so much better. I had 3 tears, 1 was 2nd degree. Honestly wasn't that bad. Glad I peaked.
I didn't look at my stitches until a couple weeks in. Wasn't so bad at that point.
DH has been behaving like an ass 90% of the time since we came home from the hospital, which was four weeks ago. It's like he's reverted to his early twenties DGAF days. Anyone else have this experience? Please tell me this isn't permanent.
I hadn't bought a nursing bra before today (actually I did, but that was like 4 months ago, and it doesn't come anywhere close to fitting), so we went to Target specifically for that. I wasn't sure if I could fit into a C or D, so I decided to try them on. I guess the friction of rubbing against the bra triggered something in my boobs because I started leaking all over the dressing room! Not exaggerating, I probably leaked like half an ounce before I could get my regular bra back on that had the nursing pads in it. I wish I would've had my phone with me to take a pic, but I had left that with my husband. I got out of there as fast as I could. I was too embarrassed to mention it to anyone that worked there!
On the way home, I should've known it would be too good to be true that my baby girl wouldn't stay asleep the whole time. She hadn't eaten in a few hours, but we were less than 15 minutes away so I was hoping she'd stay asleep. She didn't and started bawling, so we pulled over into a parking lot so I could feed her. I took her out, but for some reason she wasn't latching. All the while, unbeknownst to me, my left boob is leaking everywhere while I'm trying to get her to latch. My husband suggested that maybe she was dirty. I ask him to check her since I didn't want to have to put my bra back on, and right as he's about to put her new diaper on, she poops again all over his hand, herself, the changing mat, and I'm just uselessly sitting there applying pressure to my boobs so they don't drench the car down.
Oh the joys of first time parenting!

Took our LO to the Warrior Dash race that SO ran today. Moby wrap success! She slept great in it. Unfortunately we were gone for a while so my boobs got a little backed up.
And in regards to looking down there, I finally broke down and checked it out because, sorry for this, but my vagina has quite the odor right now, and I was paranoid something was way out of wack down there. And now in just sad because I don't know how many kegels I'm going to have to do to fix that cavern of an entrance.
Yep, I refer to it as crotch rot. Don't have it yet this time, but I do remember it from last time. Some may remember the story I shared a few months ago, but I feel like it's more meaningful now that we are in this stage:
About 2 weeks after having DS1, I wiped after going pee and there were a bunch of small pieces on the toilet paper that seriously resembled mangled spider legs. I saved the TP and showed it to DH (which totally grossed him out) and as completely crazy as it seemed at the time, I was legitimately freaked out that a spider had crawled up my vag (since it was pretty much an open cave) and died in there. I totally emailed pics to my OB to which she replied, "um, not a spider, but those are your stitches." Apparently they hadn't dissolved like I thought. So, if you're worried pp that a spider died in your vag, probably not the case
Guise, having twins is challenging. Can someone feel bad for me so I can stop?
Naw, I love my job but when they both cry it is really stressful.
I seriously don't know how you do it. I've been completely overwhelmed with my 1.5 year old and newborn on my own, and my 1.5 year old is somewhat self sufficient.
My Grandma had an 18-month old when she had my mom, and after my mom came out, the Doctor goes, "Oh there's another one coming". I can't even imagine what that would be like!
Yesterday I decided to nurse and change Owen in the car, which I used to do with DS1 all the time. As soon as I opened up his diaper, he peed all over his stomach and onesie. I was in the middle of wiping that up and he started pooping all over the clean diaper. I switched to wipe is butt and then more pee sprayed out an onto my seat. Then a sudden gush of blood came out and bypassed my pantyliner, ran down my leg and soaked through my jeans. I had to pick up DS1 from daycare with bloody jeans and then drive home sitting on a burp cloth so that I didn't get blood all over the peed on seat. Eff you post partum tricks.
I sent the DH to boys night, i managed to make dinner, get 4 kids showered/bathed and all sleeping by 9. I'm so tired, but I'm afraid as soon as I fall asleep, the small one is going to wake up.
@avidkeo DH and I may need to emigrate to NZ. After binging on Short Poppies, tonight we are enjoying Eagle vs Shark. Or you could send us all your tv!
We need to swap, I'm still binging on American shows via Netflix! If you want to know some good Kiwi movies let me know, I can send you a list of the best! though finding them may be a bit tricky!
You could always try TVNZ Ondemand or 3Now which are the kiwi networks - no idea if you can actually access them from there!
Ok overboard, just nice to be home and talking to people again about something thats not Jessica! hehe

DH left me alone with a fussy baby and crazy 2-yr-old so he could go drink beer with a friend. When the kiddos both passed out, I ate half a pizza and had a delicious Apricot Blonde ale from a local brewery. Now I have a headache. Damn you, universe.

My baby so far has been nursing really well, I have an amazing DH who has been so effortlessly nurturing with Sullivan and I, my heartburn is gone, I can use the bathroom by myself again without feeling like I am going to die via mangled lady bits, I'm not pregnant anymore, I get to sleep on my back again, and I am going home tomorrow!!
So many reasons to be grateful right now. G'night, RTT, sleep well all of you (if only for a few hours at a time).
Oh and if it wouldn't hurt my stitches so bad, I would do a happy dance for @kseccomb17 too!!
@fourthnlast You're a rockstar! I hope LO sleeps for you.

I layed down at 10, she was up at 11. Hopefully her next stretch is a bit longer.
I've been passed out most of the day. They took Asher away this morning and he's not left the NICU since. He has a heart murmur and something causing breathing problems. I was finally able to see him around 5 but it took so many pain meds to get me there that I spaced out about 20 min in. Not allowed to hold him until he stabilizes more. Missing my son so very much.

@pineconey - all the hugs to you. I hope that you get to snuggle Asher soon. I am glad that you finally got a little rest though after your marathon labor.
So I thought I remembered growth spurts/cluster feedings. I expected the 2+ hours constantly on a boob thing. But what the hell with the hysterical crying in the middle for no reason? I know there was milk coming out, because I was getting drenched from spillage - but DS just suddenly lost his shit and screamed until he lost his voice. Twice. He wouldn't latch again until he basically collapsed in baby exhaustion.
What the hell, this is awful!
Maybe he had gas? Sometimes DS does that and then suddenly burps/farts/poops and all is well again. He hops back on and starts gulping away like crazy.

He wouldn't burp either - maybe there's just a massive poopslosion in store for me!
Sometimes it takes several positions/patting/rubbing to get the burp out of mine. Maybe he just can't work it out very easily?
Owen is already soaking through my itty bitty cloth diapers, which make up about half of our newborn stash. The other ones are still too loose around his little chicken thighs though, so pee leaks out. I suppose it will need to be resolved by more diaper shopping during our middle of the night nursing sessions. FWP.
My DH is snoring away next to me as Penny frantically feeds. Little girl has been going to town for like 15 min just gulping. I'm starting to worry that my milk is coming out too fast for her!!
I've been lurking lately, but my prayers are with all my A14 mamas, especially @kseccomb17 and @pineconey tonight. We've been doing pretty well. Tonight is our 3rd night home. I didn't nap today like I should have, so I think I have a very long night ahead of me. At least I get to spend it with this cutie
Thanks ladies. Just got to do 45 min of skin to skin with Asher. We were happy to be together! I paid the price though- sitting in a wheelchair waiting for the oxy to kick in so I can get into bed. Pain is pretty high (about a 7) when it's been manageable (4-5). I can't wait to be functional again. I've never gotten to rock, dress, change, or hold my baby while standing. Never felt his full weight in my arms. Good news is that he got to have his O2 dialed back which means he is taking it in on his own. Hoping for more answers tomorrow. Hugs and love to all of you mommas out there.

Also not checking down there, that's just asking for trouble.
