  • Yes.

Omg, my childless brother is here and this is his first time really around babies and he said almost the same thing earlier! So true!
  • Woke up Aiden so he could eat before we go to our friend's house for a cookout, and he thanks me by peeing out his diaper onto the only non-maternity summer pants I have that fit.

    Thanks kiddo!

  • My nipple feels like its on fire. I know burning can be a symptom of mastitis, but is that sensation felt on the nipple ever? I feel like its supposed to be in the boob. Im not seeing any other mastitis symptoms and I have been having a difficult time pumping or feeding when I should be the past couple days. I'm really guessing its just like a brush burn or something from starting pumping, but I'm just curious if anyone else has experience with this.

  • I want to send something nice to my mom for coming for 2 weeks to help with the baby. As mentioned before, she's 500 miles away, so it's sort of hard to do something really elaborate. I'm wanting to spend around $100. Any ideas??

    Spa gift card?

That would be a great idea, but she has a ton of gift cards piled up because she doesn't have any time to use them :(

A "when we visit grandma" set? Like toys and fun things to use when baby visits? Or a nice frame with a good picture of the both of them?

    I also like edible arrangements.

Edible Arrangements? Or nice chocolate? I've both received and given LA Burdick chocolate as a gift and definitely recommend them.
LA Burdick or Vosages for chocolates, for sure.

I may have a box of the Burdick right here that I am eating...

  • Nursing and having a glass of my favorite local wine at the same time. It may put me to sleep, but it tastes so yummy!!
  • Sitting here depressed all day because my 19-month old hates me ever since bringing Owen home. He just wants DH or the baby and basically gives me a big EFF YOU whenever I want to do anything with him. I really hope it goes away soon :(

Hugs, I'm sorry. I hope it passes soon. DD went through a stage like that around that age and we didn't even have a transition with a new sibling. Its definitely tough.

My DH's two weeks is up, he goes back to work tomorrow. I am really hoping for at least some sleep.

Aw bummer!! :( do you have access to Double Rainbow soy ice cream? It's the only non-dairy option that I think really tastes like real ice cream. Whole Foods carries it.

I haven't heard of that, I'll have to keep a look out for it. I can sometimes find ice cream made from coconut milk but its hard to find around here and only comes in pints so it can get expensive.

  • Hey all! Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Got my first puke shirt today-dressed up to go to my mom's and was burping Quinn after a feeding when he barfed ALL down my shirt and INTO my bra. It seeped through and went down my stomach as well...

I looked like Mardi Gras. Ahaha shit.

In other news, I've been enjoying a well-deserved daily craft beer from my local brewery. Parenting...doing it right.

Hey!!! I've been thinking about you all day (creepy?). Sounds like you had a good day. How the heck is the pumping life woman?!?! Or did I miss an update?
  • The age difference between my bf and I has never really affected our relationship but I get the feeling it's gonna affect our parenting as a team. He's raised 5 kids already and this is my only one and he doesn't realize when he's giving the impression that he knows more than me about parenting stuff. He doesn't realize that he's one of those "these young mothers today" types (He never says it but his actions do). We had our first argument (not heated) today about when Dylan can have water. That's what I get for being with someone old enough to be my dad I guess.
  • @dani+california‌ good shit!!! I'm glad it's going. Also glad Quinn is getting his liquid gold.

Honestly that sounds more like thrush. I described it as feeling like shards of glass in my nipple. They were itchy also. Mastitis is also usually accompanied by fever. A plugged duct is usually sore in one area and then also hurts with nursing. Hoping you can get to the bottom of whatever it is and get it healed soon! ouch!

  • Was changing Penelope and she got hiccups really bad so I picked her up to comfort her.... With no diaper on since we were mid change.... And she full on peed ALL OVER ME. I could not stop laughing.

  • I need a fucking vacation.
  • I'm so thrilled to be home and Sullivan is doing great, my DH is literally playing the role of movie quality superdad/husband, they are both sleeping and... Yep. I'm awake and miserable. I've had a few ugly cry melt downs over how much pain and ordeal recovering my crotch is right now. I know it is the best decision for me and my kid to have refused the good pain meds and tough it out with Motrin 800 and tucks pads etc., but I am fucking struggling here. I don't know what I would do if DH wasn't being the perfect calm, collected, sweet, mind reading, cooking, cleaning, burping, diaper changing spouse that he is, and I am really concerned I am going to wear him too thin with a quickness.

My opportunity to nap is ticking away while I lay here in too much pain to sleep. Fuck me. :((
  • Trying to decide if I should bother posting my birth story given that it's almost a month later. I'm only just now recovered and somewhat energized enough to sit in a computer chair and type that much. >.>

Mine too! He doesn't start til the afternoon so I'll at least get his help with DSS in the morning but I'm nervous about being alone with both boys and the dog all night.
    We can do it!!
