UO: @hercules03 is actually one of my favorite posters. and I know, I know...the past. BUT I love the way she speaks her mind. Bump-crush? lol.
I don't like everything she says but I'm kinda "meh" I don't hate her.. She does say some good things. I have a love-hate thing going on. It like she's 2 people. Sane Herc and facepalm Herc
Holy shit @chillpr... You have a job in PUBLIC RELATIONS? How's that possible?
I feel like that was kinda unnecessary. She can have opinions and still be good at her job. If she wasn't able to perform it properly than she wouldn't have said job.
Ok, here we go... On the homeschooling issue: I think most people who disagree with it don't really understand it. I was homeschooled k-12 and did very well and had tons of friends (very diverse social backgrounds and ages) and was involved in many different activities. My mom had no degree, but curriculum can be great and I was in a co-op where I was able to be taught by many different people with different skills. Also in PA we have pretty strict. Testing and regulation for homeschoolers. I can't wait to homeschool, and I think its wonderful, BUT it is absolutely not for everyone and you should only do it if you really have a heart for it.
one more thing that i have to say and i know i will be seriously flamed for: I believe strongly that abortion is wrong, and have serious issue with the "personal choice" statement... No, its not your body. Its a human being growing inside your body. That's a life you are choosing to end... I won't apologize for believing that.
Seriously, now that not so super girl is banned, are some of you trying to win the title of most reviled poster?
Are you directing this at me? or who are you directing this to?
Do you think you regularly post things that might make you widely disliked on this BMB?
I don't know why you can't just answer if you were trying to talk about me passive aggressively. If you were talking about me and I ask you if you were, you can answer. It's not a call out then.

And FTR, I don't think I'm widely disliked.
Why do you think everybody is out to get you?
I don't. I just wasn't sure who she was talking about exactly.
@northport6 - Leviticus is the Old Testament. Look at the Bible like this - the Old Testament is a history lesson of how things came to be but it isn't how we should live. A lot of bad things happened then. The New Testament tells us how we should live today. A lot of people take the teachings of the Bible out of context - most specifically the teachings of the Old Testament. I think that book scares a lot of people which is why when Bibles are often passed out for free, they only include the New Testament. :-)
Hello, my name is Jew. I have no New Testament. So. That.

This. The idea behind the difference is that one was law; the other grace. Law emphasized that mankind could not follow all those rules and therefore needed a replacement. When Jesus Christ came and died for sins, the law was no longer necessary. If it's not reiterated in the NT, it's not practiced by [the majority of] religions who accept the teachings of the NT.

Lol. Well, disregard. So do Jews believe in the second coming?
We believe the messiah (from the Hebrew moschiach) hasn't come the first time, but we're waiting.

You don't need to apologize for believing that. You just need to make sure your beliefs don't interfere with my choice to have an abortion.
Agree.
I had an abortion at 20 weeks because the "Human being that was growing inside my body" was barely that; he was missing basically his posterior fossa, not to mention a myriad of other abnormalities. If he had been born he basically would have been brain dead. I'm sorry, but under no circumstances should someone be forced to bring another human being into this world knowing that they will be doomed to suffer and never, EVER even know that they are alive or even be able to think FFS.
But, if I was forced to birth that human being, I would hope that every fucking person who made sure that he was brought into this world had the opportunity to hear about his suffering and feel guilty for forcing his existence and a lifetime of pain.

I honestly want to know for what reasons people are against same sex marriage. It just baffles me. I am catholic, go to church every Sunday, and I can say I am a proud supporter of same sex marriage. I've seen what the bible says. I've also seen the bible say a lot of other fucked up shit. But really, what is it that makes someone not supportive of it? You're against another human beings happiness? You're for oppressing someone else because you're afraid of how they choose to live their life? If someone can give me a good solid reason, then I will "agree to disagree", but I haven't heard one from anyone I've ever spoken to who is "against" it. Usually fear and misunderstanding is where hatred sparks from. Love is love. Period.
Chill did you say you won't marry someone outside of your race because it would disappoint your parents? Oh good, I had you confused with the girl that slapped skins with lil Wayne. Now THAT would be hard on your parents.

Pretty sure I began that thread by saying it was a total embarrassment in the first place (RE: Wayne)
Obviously it wasn't that embarrassing or you wouldn't have offered it up to the internet.
And TB/FB breaks: I actually kind of hate it when people just disappear. The dramatic ones are whatever, but just a note saying that you won't be around for a while is cool in my book!
I took a VERY long TB break, because I was learning how to parent and very overwhelmed by it. I didn't leave a note, either, and I'm so not dramatic. I can say that coming back has been difficult, because I feel invisible. There are a lot of people who left, and a lot of noobs (to me) who are now regulars. I have my friends on TB, but sometimes I would just rather lurk.
@chillpr I don't invite people into my personal life and I don't share my Instagram with random Internet strangers. Just because some people make real friendships on here doesn't mean when you admit to doing something gross we won't bring it up again. Especially when you throw the race card into things.
My UO. I don't think teachers should ever be friends with their students on social media. I blocked one of my coworkers on IG because she showed my student who she privately tutors all of my IG pictures. The little girl came to class telling all my other students what I had posted on my private personal IG. I don't have bad things, but my personal life is just that, personal. I felt my privacy had been invaded by that. I think that teachers being "friends" with students is unprofessional and a bad idea.

I sort of kinda tried to catch up, but I just can't. All I know is my pic of mason on the potty is far less controversial compared to all of this.
I'm not sure I want to try and catch up.
I kind of skipped over the most controversial stuff. But I made a fantastic dinner. Lol. My husband even said it was 10x better than his mom's version. I can die happy now. ;-)
My MIL fancies herself a really good cook. She's alright. It always brightens my day when DH raves about my cooking in front of her. I'm a bitch.

Bluebonnets are a Texas thing. It's pretty much required you throw your kids in the middle of a bluebonnet patch and take a picture every April.

We tried to take some bluebonnet pics, haven't had time yet!
Once again. This doesn't apply to me.

Don't believe in them? Don't want one?
Don't have one.
debate over.
Ah well.
