Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )

  • Day two of BFing and I thought I was doing it right until I got blisters and started bleeding from both boobs. Yay! DH and I have been watching BFing videos and reading all night trying to perfect our technique. Quinn doesn't want to open his little chomper wide enough to latch properly...I googled a local LC and she's calling me back in 15 minutes. Hoping she can come see me ASAP before my boobs get too sore to keep trying.... This is really hard. Can I put him back in?
I was there a week ago.  It gets better!!  *hugs*

  • @pineconey‌ I hope things start progressing soon! Try and get some rest.

Ugh. According to my ovulation date tomorrow is 40 weeks! DH planned on having eviction sex with me tonight...

Well he worked 66 hours this week and is tired and playing video games.

I feel slightly miffed because he often chooses video games over sex... But also half relieved because I'm so round I don't think sex would be enjoyable.

Although it would be fitting since the sex that made baby was the worst! DH have sex with me now I have ewcm!!

    Lol.
  • I think I'm the one with my days and nights confused. I just ate dinner at 9:30 and should be sleeping because dd is. But instead I'm watching the thunder game. No wonder I'm so tired during the day!

  • The fact that I'm so big now that if I stand or walk too much throughout the day my feet hurt by bedtime, might be the most depressing thing ever.

Dude. I hear you. At 40w6d I finally feel pregnant as fuuuuuuuck. After 30 minutes of walking I feel like I just ran a marathon. I'm dead and done and achy for the whole day. It makes me cry just thinking about ever getting back into marathon shape...
I was really hot, so I took off my t-shirt to fold the laundry. I was standing in front of the mirror and looked over and was like "dude. I'm huge." DH was laughing at me earlier today for heavy breathing after walking down the hall. I don't remember being like this last time, lol. And I'm only 39w!
My MIL posted pictures of our day on Facebook and I couldn't believe how giant I am. Like, my stomach is just huge. I look at myself everyday in the mirror but somehow still think of myself as non pregnant or something. And i rock the sports/nursing bra and giant undies in the apartment ALL the time while hubster is in a beanie and sweater. Looking forward to snuggling with these furnaces!

  • I dream that I'm pregnant but I never have a belly.

But dam when I see myself in the mirror... It's massive!

A client told me I looked great for being days from my due date and that I must be taking good care of myself... I think they were just being nice because I look like a house.

What sucks even more is being 5 weeks pp and going for a walk around the block and feeling like death after. Being on bed rest for half of the pregnancy really knocked me out of shape!
I can't wait to run again!

I puked in my sleep and woke up panicked and gagging.

So early labor signs can include menstrual cramps. Do they have to be abdominal or can they be crotch cramps? I usually don't get abdominal cramps, just in my crotch. (And I'm sure there is a better term, but hey--abdominal isn't real specified either...)

ETA: posted too quick on mobile

I think they can, I always get cramps in my back and that's where I got them in labor.
This. I think pretty much any cramp and pain is legit at this point. For me, anyway, keeping my sanity has been in trying to avoid paying too much attention unless it gets intense. It has not done me any good this last few weeks to analyze every little discomfort, kwim? I keep telling myself if its the real deal I will know it with a quickness. Pregnancy is a mindfuck.
  • Is wiping a baby down with baby wipes between baths ok? Or is it too much/bad for their skin?

  • Holy fluid retention! The entire lower half of my body looks like it belongs on "My 600lb Life". Any ideas for relief from the soreness/tightness of the swelling? I'm only 6 days PP, and my doctor said it'll get worse before it gets better, but I can barely flex my feet and toes anymore lol!

@knotty-girl‌ @Sarahjess06‌ Count me in the crampy feeling club. Mine started about half an hour ago along with lower back pain discomfort. I also had to put a pad on due to the gushes I had right before bed and when I woke up a couple of hours ago. Not sure what to think of all of this! [-O< :-SS :-??

They can totally be crotch cramps. Mine were this time, versus the menstral like pains I've had with my previous labors. I dunno why that is.

Luckily, I got this handy souvenir water mug from the hospital when I left yesterday! I swear, this thing is like my badge of honor. I have been refusing to drink from anything else while I am recovering lol! I just wish I had an ice machine like theirs here :(
Ditto every word. Especially re the ice machine!
Me three!!! Stace I'm now 7 days pp and my feet are more swollen now than when i was pregnant... Hopefully soon it will go down.

I should have known when they said they were going to "push" an extra bag of fluids through my IV that I was in for a fun week of recovery on top of the incision itself ;) So now, I have a dilemma: everyone is sleeping and I have to pee, refill my water, and pump, but can hear baby start to stir. Yet, somehow, I can't seem to stop Bumping...
  • My two cats and husband all have at least one limb on me and they're all snoring. I'm wide awake and all I can do is dwell on the fact that I'm still pregnant at 41w with zero signs of labor. I'm so discouraged. I want my body to get to do this on it's own but each passing day leaves me with less hope. Induction is scheduled in a week. I just want this to happen naturally so much.

  • Lucas rolled over, I'm sure it was a fluke, but we both missed it! I'm kind of sad.

@dani+california‌ We've been using pumped milk when he get super upset and won't do anything but scream. Just a few slurps will calm him enough to get him to latch usually.

@Stace0616‌ I told DH exactly that yesterday! We could be on my 600 lb life together as foot extras. I'm 5 days pp and my feet are more swollen than ever in my whole life. More than any ankle sprain I've had, even one that put me on crutches. I didn't get to keep my sweet mug.

So, tally for the night: Ansel peed on me 4 times. On his face once; 3 on me before, 1 right after maybe because I laughed at him. That is when I tag teamed DH so I could shower and try to sleep some more. I woke him up with "Here. Change and watch him. I'll probably be back by the time he wants to feed again." Insert groggy "what?" "He just peed on his own face, then on me a min after I changed him. It's your turn." He laughed and took the pee soaked baby.

Lucas peed out of his diaper at ever diaper yesterday. Then at 3 am peed on his face and on my. We switched to size ones and those are way too big for him! Peed out of that too!

Waiting for my cloth to come out of the dryer to try that on him!

  • @KatieGummow‌ my LO has no sensitivity to anything yet we wipe him down a lot esp since he is always peeing on us when we change his diaper. It's fine as long as you don't notice any sensitivity or anything.. I also use lotion though soooo others may not agree with me:)
  • DD slept for 3.5 hours in a row! (and slept pretty good the rest of the night too) I feel like a human today!

Can she please call Emma? She did not have a good night last night!

  • Mil really wanted to see us this weekend so we agreed to a visit. She said she'd be here at 12:30. The restaurant she wants to take us to closes at 2...

It's 1:13 and she's not here yet... Sigh

I understand where the saying crying over spilled milk came from. I accidentally spilled everything I pumped yesterday down the drain. :((

    This sounds terrible! So sorry!

  • Great news dani!
  • Cluster feedings suck, at least I hope that's what this is and I'm not doing something wrong. I think I am losing what's left of my sanity. All she does is eat. I just want my sleepy efficient nurser back! :((
  • Love false alarms....

    not.
  • Cloth fail: squirming new born + horrible fit on a prefold = pissed off baby and flustered mama
