Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )

  • Ugh, I have no appropriate clothing for this beautiful 70 degree weather! So I am going to the grocery store looking like a fool but at least I won't be a sweaty fool.

Me either! All my maternity clothes were long sleeves and jeans. I am rocking like 2 maxi skirts and that's it!

Me three. I have a few things, but I have to say the warmer weather is uncomfortable at this far pregnant. Shoes have become the biggest problem because the heat makes my feet even more swollen. I took one of my long skinny tees and cut the long sleeves off into cap sleeves. It was raw edged with no hems so it worked pretty good!

  • FFSC: I am so close to begging for an induction but I'm not going to. I'm also tempted to get castor oil but I have read up on the consequences and can't bring myself to try it.
  • I've had sporadic contractions all day yesterday (and very few BH before that, ever) and they were getting very strong and fairly regular last night up until I had some kind of bloody show (I know, I'm sorry) and everything just stopped. What the ever living fuck? I'm clearly making progress here, why are we taking a break? Has this happened to anyone? How do I jump start this shit again?!
Yep, I went to the hospital over a week ago after having contractions for over 24 hours, which included several hours of contractions under 5 minutes. I was a 3, and didn't progress 2 hours later so I got sent home. 3 days later the same thing happened and I was between 3 and 4. Kept having contractions 3-5min all day and then they suddenly stopped. Very different from what happened with DS1. Such a mindfuck.
  • I hope it gets better @poru. She's so cute.
  • I'm gonna wash my car today. It'll be a good distraction. Plus I'm sure I'm really only doing it because as much as I hate it my mom's criticism still has some form of control over me. One day it won't but I know I'll never make this baby feel the way she makes me feel.
  • I need to grocery shop. Do I have both kids and my DH come with me? Do I leave DH with 2 year old at home and bring baby George with me? Do I leave both boys with DH at home and hope George doesn't get hungry while I'm gone? Ugh the logistics now
  • I need help! Opinions and advice please. Today at church I was given a swing, and I also received a bouncer at one of my showers. I REALLY would like to get a rocking chair or glider. That's the only thing I'm really lacking that I feel is a necessity. My question is: do I really need a swing and a bouncer? For those that are S+TMs, which one would you recommend? I'd like to take one back to go towards the purchase of a rocking chair/glider, but I'm open to keeping both if either of them could be a "lifesaver" when in need of a moment of peace or free hands.

I'm kind of leaning towards taking the bouncer back since the ratings aren't as good and there are less features, but I just wanted to get opinions first. Thank you! :)

  • Dani you're so sweet. My sisters just called and convinced me to meet them at the beach. I'm a little annoyed that my mom will be there but at least I get to spend my big sister's last day on island with her.
  • Guys, prodromal labor sounds like hell! What a mindfuck! I hope that's not what this is. I have no idea how you guys are dealing with this for so long. It feels so real and all kinds of fabulous stuff is coming out of my junk, if this goes on too long I'm just going to lay down and start pushing and see what happens. Lol. Seriously girls, we all sound like we're having a bummy Sunday! T's, P's, hugs to all!!! Let's just kick pregnancy's (and post pregnancy, and momma drama, etc) ass this week. Just fuck the bullshit from here on out.

This combined with the phone call I got from my sisters really cheered me up
  • Still pretty damn sure that I'm never going to be in labor. Ever.

  • I wish I could just take DS with me to the store. He's an amazing shopper and loves the free cookie from the bakery. Unfortunately, I can't lift him yet. So I guess I will take baby and let DS have some Daddy time.

@SLSchuerg‌ I only had a swing with DS and he loved it. Now I have a bouncer and swing and George only likes the bouncer. So it is really hard to tell, but I would pick a swing and glider over the bouncer.
  • I thought I was one of the lucky ones whose family members didnt ask inappropriate questions...

Nope.  MIL and my mom have both asked me how dilated I am and if the doctor thinks Im going to have the baby soon.

    Awkward...

Im not getting checked and they dont know and wouldnt know even if they were checking... (and ew why are you asking about my ladybits!?!?!)
  • @SLSchuerg‌ do you have anything else that vibrates? I would keep the swing and return the bouncer. Both have pros, but I prefer the swing. I'm a ftm but babysat/nannied a lot. Swing was always the preferred option.
  • I'm gonna wash my car today. It'll be a good distraction.

I'm impressed. I don't think I could lean over the hood with this big belly or squat/get down low enough to get the hubcaps!

  • @megla No, I don't, but I'm thinking about returning the bouncer too. If I think we need one, I'll just wait til a little later on down the road and just get another one myself.

So far DS really loves the swing and is meh about the bouncer.
  • My nipples have been so sore for like 3 days now. Seriously, every time I get what seems to be a sign of impending labor my body's all like "oh, that's cool" and just ignores it.
The new favorite phrase from people is, "must be a girl- girls are always late."

  • I woke up with this weird blood blister hickey looking thing on my neck. It doesn't hurt or anything, but it's gross. It's not a bug bite. Cause for concern?
  • If I could walk right now... I would get into my car and go to DQ for a Blizzard and stop for cupcakes. As it is, I've had to settle for cherry Crystal Light with a heating pad on my recliner. Too bad they don't deliver :-/

Thanks everyone! I've decided to return the bouncer to go towards the purchase of a glider. I can definitely see the benefit of it being more portable to keep the baby nearby, but we live with our in-laws, so my MIL can watch her if I ever need to jump in te shower or anything. I'll definitely be getting one once we move out this summer, or maybe even before then! :)

  • My DH is all worried. I'm about to drive 1.5hrs to pick up my mum from the airport... And I'm 1 day OD. He can't come because he has to work and hes worried I'll go into labor on the drive! It's very sweet but I still have no signs at all, and ill be within 30 of a hospital at all times (can deliver anywhere here, its great!) plus once I've picked up mum she can drive or whatever.

I'm not being under cautious am I? Dh has nothing to worry about right?

You're fine, I'm sure. You'll be closer to a hospital than I am at home.
Well DH has just decided he is coming anyway! He works from home so he can do it. It's really sweet that hes this worried, but now I can't stop at McDonalds for breakfast... He doesn't do McDonalds breakfast! Damn it! Hehe

  • my sweet DH posted this on FB yesterday:

I know you all mean well, but if you could not make suggestions anymore on how to "get this baby going", that would be fantastic. I don't have a problem with being asked if baby is here yet, but in my personal opinion you're crossing a line telling my wife to "have sex!" and "rub these places" and whatnot. We've done our research and will be having our child when he/she is ready. Thanks for understanding.

which was super nice, but now i'm dealing with the passive-agressive backlash from friends and family via messages.   i just want to disappear...

(((Piney))) He's gone papa bear :) They really need to step off, like several messages ago. I'm sorry they're not just listening and shutting up and instead continuing the douchery.
That's the best @pineconey! Will your hubster do that for all of us?! My FATHER told me to "get busy."  REALLY!?!?
