How do the STMs do this?! The only responsibility I have is my job and I can barely keep up!
I am a STM, still working full time, and I'm not sure how we do it. Get used to being tired and uncomfortable all the time? Take full advantage of any help that DH is willing to give me? Accept that some things are going to fall through the cracks, and just let them go?
Pretty much all three of these.
This. What I can't imagine is how the hell we are going to have two. I am pretty much useless at work these days though. I have to admit.
Me too. It is incredibly slow at work, which doesn't help. A few times a day, I'll ask people if there is anything I can help them with. If not, I'm good with it.
Oh this is me!! I have no patients booked in and I really really hope I finally have a day with no one at all!!! Only one week left before I get to hand over to my Locum, and I cant wait!!
On another note, its amazing what you can do with pics, Microsoft Word and Paint...
Ill put this up in about 10 hrs for HDBD, hope you like it!
my boss's DIL is pregnant a month behind me. (due in may) and because of this she has taking a liking to me more than others in the office, which is nice most of the time because I can get away with things that others don't seem to like "visiting" at the front desk and not responding to emails. However, it also means she thinks she can talk to me about my pregnancy... she seriously just walked in and asked if I was effaced or dilated at all yet, last week she asked if I was doing my pelvic tilts.... go away!

Medication question: Maybe someone has some insight.
The last time I got my insulin refilled was in January and it was for a 3 month supply, I thought I was all set until delivery, but since that time, I take almost 4 times that amount and I'm down to my last bottle, which will last me until next week. It says on the box that insurance won't cover another refill until 4-14-14
:-q...but I have an appointment with my endocrinologist tomorrow. If they call me in a new prescription with my new dosing amounts, will insurance cover it? I'm probably irrationally freaking out, but I've been on hold with the insurance company for over an hour today and I can't take it anymore.
Holy crapballs, my Dr just called with my 24 hour urine results and I'm being induced tomorrow night. Even though I knew I would probably be induced by the end of the week, it's still freaking me the hell out.

Yes, it should be covered.
My logical side of my brain says that, but the irrational pregnant part is doing all the freak outs right now.

@fourthnlast maybe your dr has to authorize more refills? Or change the prescription? DH had that problem with some medicine he was on, it ended up being covered. His dr just had to change the amount he was allowed.

Even with my ADHD prescription that is a controlled substance it is covered if the dr writes a new or different prescription.
I think it is amazing that @Mamamonzo's labor experience has us all questioning our poop schedules. It is a strange legacy for sure, but she deserves to be proud of it!
DH's aunt sent us a package of books, we read them out loud to each other today and both ended up crying messes. We are softies, man. Don't tell anyone.
DH has been obsessed with wanting to catch the baby in delivery. I said "fine" without much thought, thinking there was no way the midwife would OK it. I asked her at my last appt and she said "oh yes! Absolutely! We love when dads want to catch!" Well... shit. Ok, I guess he's catching lol.

That's what I'm hoping for, if the Dr calls in a new prescription, they will cover it. Fingers crossed. Otherwise they may as well take the baby out now because I can't pay the $1,000 to buy the insulin without insurance coverage.

Mine was so into catching our first but due to the complications with delivery he wasn't able to. He was so disappointed, as was I. He was unable to catch our second because I was induced...again disappointment. I asked if he wanted me to find out if he could try again and he was all down and told me if I felt like bringing it up I could. I feel so bad he hasn't had his chance to catch one of our kids because he really wanted that experience and now he doesn't want to get his hopes up.
I glad your midwife is open to it.

Questions for ladies with spd: What does it feel like and is it a constant pain or does it go away sometimes?
Mine comes and goes day to day or from morning to evening- depending on how I slept and spent my day. Sometimes it feel like my pubic bone is going to split in half and sometimes it just feels like I'm a thousand pounds a d pregnant.

My bf is a little nervous about catching. Even though this isn't his first child, this is the first one who's birth he'll actually be at (he was deployed or working hours away for his older children). I asked him if he wanted to catch and he practically hyperventilated.
My belly may be huge and taking up residence in my lap, but I can still paint my toes!!!! \:D/
I haven't tried. I just told H he could do it or I could go get a pedi...the next day I had a groupon for a pedi waiting for me on the kitchen counter
So jealous. I said the same thing to DH and he was like, "sure, just take a shower first." It's sweet he's willing to do it but I'd much rather get it professionally done! Massage!

@joytomylifex Was the baby circumcised? Sometimes it can look strange if its uncircumcised and you don't have experience with one. I thought my sons looked so strange but after play dates I noticed he fit in with all the other uncircumcised babies. And now that he's older its more "penis" looking.

My DH wants nothing to do with catching, cord cutting, or anything else medical - he's such a wuss
Catching has never been something I've even considered asking him if he wants to do. He's pretty pumped to get to cut the cord though. He didn't get to with DS because he was whisked to the nicu.
Also, who is everyone having in the delivery room? This is my third baby and I finally caved and told my mom she could be in with us.

I'm not sure how my DH feels about any of it, but I do wonder if being at the business end of the delivery bed would be traumatic for him. He may never look at my vagina the same way again.

@thomas930 I'm so sorry your DH hasn't been able to catch any of the babies yet. I'm sure that's really sad for him. I think it's great he wants to be so involved, hopefully he will get his chance this time!

I feel like either my body is shrinking or my child is grabbing my skin and squeezing it together. I want a boob lift or my body stretched out. No matter how fat i am it seems like my whole upper body has been taken over by baby. This must be what it feels like to be squished into a box lol.
I was surprised when DH told the dr he wanted to cut the cord. (It never once came up when we talked about it) I was even more surprised when the dr said he basically forces DH's to when he can.
