My brother is in the Army, so they live all over the place. Currently, Missouri, so it's only an 8 hour road trip. And we both love road trips!

That's so fun! I love hearing when brother's and sister's marry amazing people and everyone is so close. (I got SO lucky in that aspect as well). That's awesome you both dont mind road tripping. Is there a base closer to you he could request and hopefully get?

No lent for me.. But I am wearing my hubs' super huge old and comfy catholic high school Tshirt today. He says it has "magical feel better powers" hehe. Let's see how it works on 8 months pregnant and miserable.

He's actually going to get out of the Army when his contract is up (he'll still be in MO at that point) and then he has plans to attend helicopter pilot school in Utah, so they'll be further away

no biggie though! I vote for halfway-point meet ups in Colorado.

That would be the most fun in the world! I loooove Colorado! You could get a groupon for a place at a ski resort or go brewery hopping.... can i come?

My husband and I got invited to a house party tonight (it's an ex coworker) anyways I'm not too keen on the guy (and by not too keen I mean he's an asshat) and it's a bunch of 20 something's getting drunk and smoking weed. My husband drinks, does not partake in weed, but I'm pretty sure I'll be the only sober person there, and DEFINITELY the only pregnant one. Should we go? I can use the no sitter as an excuse to not go, I could let DH go on his own and pick him up later, or I could just say I don't want to go. Ughh decisions.

I would say that you don't want to go and tell him that he can still go if he wants and you'll pick him up.

They aren't making me pee in a cup anymore and I'm so glad because it was a blind shot for several appointments.

I would say that you don't want to go and tell him that he can still go if he wants and you'll pick him up.

At my last appt I got it in the cup, set the cup down to wipe and then without thinking dumped the cup in the toilet! I walked out and said total pregnancy brain moment sorry! By the end of the appt I had to pee again, but apparently it happens all the time!

Pregnant women and invalids don't have to follow the fasting and giving up meat for Lent. Woo hoo! Also, my Catholic family is already starting to bug me about getting LO baptized. We had a non-religious wedding and I can't remember the last time I attended church on my own accord. This could get interesting.

This is completely realistic. It is actually easier to do things with a baby when they are tiny because they pretty much sleep all the time, want to be held and when they cry, it is not as loud. You'll probably have to duck out at some point to change diapers, but it is definitely doable.

Graduations, though long, are pretty structured time wise. So, I would wear the baby, sit where you can hand the LO off to DH, and also sit where you can leave the venue easily. Going in and out during the speeches shouldn't be a big deal and it also shouldn't be a big deal to hand off LO to DH when your section is walking, and join them. As for attending the ceremony, just sit close to an exit and walk out if you need to feed or the LO gets fussy. That's what I would do :-)

Thanks everyone. DH isn't usually very emotional, but he seems to be awfully down. He keeps bringing up memories that he shares with them. I'm not real sure to how react. I just listen and try to engage.
