  • I have to give a speech at a luncheon in a few hours. I'm a really great writer, and the thing is only 2 minutes long, but I'm not doing a great job of focusing at the moment. Guess I'll be using my notecards... Just like college speech class.

Anyone else notice that TB is now sponsored by similac? Apparently they need to keep things fair between BF and FF. They wouldn't want a riot on their hands.

lol I thought the exact same thing

I waterproofed a knockoff pair of uggs a few yrs ago for use on these weird weather days, and I can no longer get them on my feet :( I'm down to one pair of extremely loosely laced tenis shoes or flip flops.
Yup. I have one pair of boots that work now. I don't know WHAT I'll do if they get too tight. I don't want to buy shoes!

One thing I learned from being young (21) and being pregnant with DD is you definitely find out who your true friends are. I pretty much only had one friend after I got pregnant because I could no longer do the "fun" stuff like partying. However, if I had to choose I would much rather have one good friend than a bunch of "friends" and I have yet to find someone like that here in TN so I'm a hermit. I don't really have interest in hanging out with people unless I truly enjoy their company. So far.. Meh.

And on the mom social groups... No thanks. TB is good enough for me.

((Hugs)) I was 21 and pregnant too. It's true that you really do learn who your real friends are. Hang in there, by the time you can go out and party again, those things just seem so lame and ridiculous. A few weekends may have been bummy, but in all twelve years later I can not think of a single thing I'm sad about missing! :)

It's cool that you guys bring this up because this is currently me. I'm 22 and in a new area, so the few friends I had before I got pregnant have absolutely no interest in me, and now it's almost like I have a disease to them. DH has met some friends who have girlfriends but they don't seem to know what to say to me because I can't go out and drink.
I've kinda accepted my hermitness as well and just look forward to the day that I meet mommy friends

    ETA: holy grammar.

  • @stace This LO will have twin cousins who will be 1 next month too! Except they are both boys. They are so adorable! And I'm glad they will have cousins close in age.

After getting up at 6 to volunteer with work and then coming home and crashing till about 20 minutes ago, I am sitting on my couch eating Lucky Charms. Then I'm going to get in the shower to get ready for our maternity shoot this afternoon!

  • I need to be painting a menu board that is supposed to be done in two hours when I go in to work. But my couch, guys.

That's got to be hard! Another thing about having kids so young is that all the moms who have kids the same as your are older, which is fine to me but they don't get very close because the age difference bothers them. I wish I had more snarky fun moms to play with, but I never find them. I get a lot of side eye, but I'm just an acquired taste for most people.

  • Just got back from L & D-was having some cramping the last few days and the baby has hardly moved. Everything seems normal though so that's good! Plus DH was actually off for once so I didn't have to go alone. Win!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! Had to skip a few pages, hope I didn't miss anything major.

    Glad you're okay!

@biggerinreallife I got the Gabriella strong support belt. $30 on amazon. I was a size 20 pre preg and I got an extra large. It fits just fine. It helps but don't expect a miricle cure.

Thanks @Aronie82, I'll check it out! I'm not expecting a cure, gotta wait two more months for that! But any releif would be nice. :)

  • Glad baby is doing well @dani+california!

I'm writing out thank you notes from my shower which is such a boring task.  Was hoping the nesting instinct would kick in this weekend so I would want to start on some baby laundry.  Nope, nothing yet.

Oh I'm not sad about it lol While I still like to throw down from time to time, I don't mind losing touch with all of those friends. I have the people closest to me to have fun with now. Being 21, it sucked at the time but it was a learning experience so now my perspective is different.

    Eta: clarify.

  • We postponed maternity photos from last week to this week because of crummy weather...just as luck would have it it's now started to snow 2 hours before we are supposed to do them.....crossing fingers that if it's going to snow it stays cold enough to stay snow and doesn't turn into rain/slush by 3

Ooh snowy maternity pics would be lovely!

  • Tempted to send DH out to buy me a bucket to drink out of. I'm sick of refilling my glass and/or water bottle.
This...totally. How can I be so thirsty?!

  • On the train back to DH and my cozy bed! Holy crap traveling pregnant sucks--I had fun, but spent every night crying myself to sleep about my back and missing DH. Hormones?

Also, train people are weird. I've seen no less than three parents smack their kids and we just left the station. I truly don't understand why you think spanking a kid will make them behave. Especially when they are under five years old!
